I have to sign bellow that, what a professional tight performance. I just bought my TM2 and a few roland triggers and after watching this I see that the possibilities go beyond what I was expecting!!
Yo, that was hardly an answer to my question. This guy was talking about drummers he heard, and in an exaggerated way as well, so you butting in and saying he is wrong is just absolute horseshit. Don't awesome, just let others listen to their shit without being obnoxious and tedious. And by the way: don't try so hard to push your frame and state on others, it won't work. You might like VOID, I think it's hard to listen to and misses many key points of what would make it an enjoyable experience, so...
I broke my left elbow so I'm using the tm 2 with a Roland bass drum pad and I'm using a snare sound. Now i can play the hihat and cymbals etc with my right hand and i can play the bass pedal as a snare with my left foot. Works perfect!
TM-2 trigger is great! But what I don't understand is how can they make two inputs signals. If there is three type of triggers, the Kickdrum-trigger, Tom-trigger and the Snare-trigger?
you can have 4 simultaneous triggers by splitting the inputs with insert cables. (1x TRS to 2x TS lead) 4 sounds/triggers are then possible. you simply choose whiat type of pad or trigger you are using in the TM2 trigger menu
Can the Roland TD17 be connected to the Roland tm 2 with a midi out cable so I can have the sounds of the TD17 on the tm2 directly with a midi out cable?
yes perfect. Make sure you choose the RT10K as your trigger type and you may even want to turn dynamics off for a really snappy and consistent kick performance.
If i were to transform my acoustic kit using Remo's Silent Stroke Mesh drum heads, and then implementing Roland triggers and external cymbal pads for cymbals and hi hats to my acoustic kit, would it still function the same way ?
+Rhythmista Yes. Though you will need to remove the resonant heads on your toms and snare to prevent mistriggering. I have a friend who did exactly this and that's how he solved that issue.
yes but use the PowerPly heads as they are dual-ply and designed by Remo/Roland for triggering. If you use RT30 series Roland triggers, the only setting you will need to adjust are the trigger threshold and sensitivity settings. They have a built-in anti-false triggering function and no other trigger adjustments are needed. You won't need to remove the bottom heads either. thank you.
I personally like to use two stand alone, active powered monitors, like Roland's small PM-10's or those well known Mackie or Yamaha full range cabinets. They give you power and realistic sound. But you need to go stereo!
Hey nice Demo...Question how much Gb card can you insert in Tm2 2) How many preset sound comes in Tm2 and how many can we add internally 3) Does it requires any kind of Software like spd sx to transfer files Thanks Lloyd
up to 32GB cards supported. 2) 162 sounds 50 editable preset kits 49 blank editable user kits. Sounds play directly off SD card so no import needed. 3) no software required. Simply use any OSX or WIN WAV editor and save to Sd card. thanks
Hello Michael, I really like the Tm-2 module. I've been using it in a hybrid kit setup to trigger a kick drum sound, a snare buzz sample and a extra pad for sounds like claps and house snares. Kick is panned left, all the other sounds are panned right. If I use a reverb on my right panned sounds it bleeds thru on the left side where I only wanted to output te kick sound (without reverb). Do you know if theres a solution to this problem? I don't think it's possible to pan the reverb, or is it?
i have 2 questions 1. can i use a diy trigger with tm2 without any problem? 2. i know you can play backing tracks wit it, my question is can you still use the other 3 trigger inputs while plying the backing tracks? thanks
1. yes. The TM-2 is compatible with piezo triggers and includes enough adjustment in the module to suit almost any trigger. 2. Yes. Each of the 4 trigger inputs can playback a stereo sample and all four sounds can run simultaneously. Just make sure you set percussion sounds to mono and not poly in its INST settings to avoid running out of voices.
yes you can connect the MIDI out of the TD4 to the MIDI in of the TM-2 to trigger samples and layer these with your TD4 or use the TM-2 samples instead. See our Blog for more information. www.rolandcorp.com.au/blog/how-to-add-samples-to-your-v-drums/
Hi David, the TM-2 is designed for simple sample playback of your sounds you've already prepared. If you want loops of different tempos you can either create them at different tempos before loading them into the TM-2 and assign them to kits with different tempo names or If you want to change tempos on the fly, the SPD-SX is designed to do this where you can tempo sync loops and it can also handle 15 samples across 9 pads and 6 external trigger ins.
simply take the MIDI out of the TD20 to the MIDI in of the TM2. The audio out of the TM2 then connects to the TD20 MIX-IN so out of the TD20 you will hear both modules. It's great. You can choose which pads/triggers on the TD20 trigger sounds in the TM2 or add extra pads to the TM2 and TD20 to expand your setup
That was probably one of the best demos I've seen. Really fun to watch. I'm sold.
Thank you for the appreciation!

simon ayton Ok. Thank you!
you are most welcome!
Nice and inspiring.. can you share where I can download wav files to use in my tm2 module? Thanks..
You can find my play alongs for the TM-2 here (in .wav - just file those on the TM-2 SD card and there you go) : michaelschack.bandcamp.com
best review video ever! does this work with roland td-6 pads?
Yes, it does! You just hook up the TM-2 to your TD-6 module, or directly connect the pads to the trigger inputs. No sweat.
Can the Roland TD17 be connected to the Roland tm 2 with a midi out cable so I can have the sounds of the TD17 on the tm2 directly with a midi out cable?
i just bought this module with the rt10k, would it be good for metal? fast double bass?
yes perfect. Make sure you choose the RT10K as your trigger type and you may even want to turn dynamics off for a really snappy and consistent kick performance.

Hi Michael, can you give some idea about monitor speaker for V drum? Thanks

Roland Australasia I already brought one and seriously it's just simply awesome...loved it is there gonna be any new updates on Tm2
Damn... Get it....
Redbull, cigarettes and an iPhone, that is typical.. LOL
Hey Michael when recording the td 30 k in the studio how do you mix the toms and cymbals on separate chanels r can u even do that?
Of course you can : just output them through the individual outputs on the back panel. Easy!
great job!! Do u teach like this too.. lol

Hi Timo, no unfortunately it's not possible to pan the reverb... Sorry!
Isn't there only three tom inputs on the module? How is the 4th being triggered?
there are two splittable inputs for four triggers
Ah! Ok Thanks.
can the tm-2 work with triggering acoustic drums??
ok just figured it out, yes! doing some research now.
i have 2 questions
1. can i use a diy trigger with tm2 without any problem?
2. i know you can play backing tracks wit it, my question is can you still use the other 3 trigger inputs while plying the backing tracks? thanks

Does it work with Roland TD4 ? I can replace the sound of the four pads?
yes you can connect the MIDI out of the TD4 to the MIDI in of the TM-2 to trigger samples and layer these with your TD4 or use the TM-2 samples instead. See our Blog for more information. www.rolandcorp.com.au/blog/how-to-add-samples-to-your-v-drums/
Just got the TM 2. Im told that you can not change the tempo in the loop mode. is that right?? seems crazy that it has only one tempo..
Hi David, the TM-2 is designed for simple sample playback of your sounds you've already prepared. Were can I download the samples you use ?
the TM-2 comes loaded with these drum samples.
You can't download the all. The ones I do have available are on michaelschack.bandcamp.com - thanks for your comment!
How do you hook this up to a TD 20 sx VDRUM SET
simply take the MIDI out of the TD20 to the MIDI in of the TM2. The audio out of the TM2 then connects to the TD20 MIX-IN so out of the TD20 you will hear both modules. It's great. You can choose which pads/triggers on the TD20 trigger sounds in the TM2 or add extra pads to the TM2 and TD20 to expand your setup
Red bull, cigarrettes and i phone..Rave ingridients..lol..awesome..
Thanks Jojo!
This Guy makes me laugh 😆 sooo much!!! LoL 😆 Awesome!! LoL 😆 hahahahaha
if he has a TD-30, then why bother with the TM-2?
pretty cool. just too bad it only triggers 2 pads (or 4 when panning)
Really love his playing but I can’t understand smashing a drum kit so hard, especially an electric kit that doesn’t seem necessary 🤷♂️
Wa ne zalige mens.
I hope this guy isn’t trying to build a dick ship!
When did the creepy bald guy from the 6 flags commercial learn drums?
😂😂😂😂
Fake drum sounds.
No thank you.
