The visuals and action are great... still no idea what’s going on 😄 But, as fans we’ve complained when they give too much away and complain when there isn’t enough so maybe that’s the point. Go watch and find out?
Sony still trying to make this happen and making every villain an antihero as you mentioned is getting old. These characters work best as full villains and played in contrast to Spider man.
For me, I didn’t view any of this as heroic or antiheroic. I saw one murderer taking out other murderers. I didn’t garner any noble motives behind said killings, so personally I can’t call this an antihero thing. I’m gunna check it out when it hits theatres; certainly looks better & has me more excited than the Thunderbolts
One thing that some people seem to not realize is that 1) good hunters, even big game hunters, hate poachers. Even in the most selfish sense, you can't hunt something if it goes extinct. Teddy Roosevelt was a master big game hunter AND a conservationist responsible for so many protected federal lands and state parks in the U.S., after all. And 2), in the comics iirc he has some empathic ability with animals, and also doesn't really see them as a challenge anymore. So it tracks that after hunting humans ("the most dangerous game"), metahumans are the biggest baddest game to hunt. That's why he becomes obsessed with Spider-Man in the comics. If you're trying to build up a Sinister Six roster independent of Spidey (at least at first), Rhino actually makes a lot of sense, even if it is tied in to some sort of revenge story in this. Like... Yeah, it was weird and dumb to try to do the anti-hero thing with Morbius, but Venom has been a villain, anti-hero, and arguably an anti-villain at times, so I don't really get the complaints about that. Literally eats people simply because he can. Lol So yeah, I agree.

With the inclusion of Johnny Cash in this trailer I guess I'm expecting a Sonny mid level action experience. I wait for the Wesley Snopes Blade Logan send off film. If it happens if not Netflix and chill with my cheese Tuna casserole. Single guy meal.

I wish ATJ & Russell Crowe well b/c they visually portray their characters believably (esp. ATJ). IF this character's done right, Kraven will survive Secret Wars to become a big problem for the MCU's ground-level heroes. Imagine him clashing w/Kingpin & the Punisher w/Spidey & DD having to choose sides 🤯👌🏾 Alas, I feel, like most Sony Spider-Verse live-action flicks, the plot & script will undermine their efforts 😑
Be curious to see if this gets brought up on any of your shows... I'm done with Sony's (Live-Action) Spider-Verse right now, they don't even have the confidence to stand behind their actual product. Did you notice how this trailer was cut without a single line being uttered by THE LEAD of this film!? It's absolutely ludicrous, because they know that there were already mixed feelings about ATJ having no accent, so they would rather package this thing without any of his dialogue to try and fool the general audience, who are likely familiar with Kraven from either the iconic cartoon or even video game appearances. I guess the frustrating thing is that Sony was able to produce both of those things... why are they approaching their flagship films with such ambiguity and toe-testing the waters instead of diving right in? This is a big miss for me.
Yeah idk about this one. I love Aaron Taylor Johnson, but I would have loved to see Crowe play the lead instead. I know, Johnson is a lot more fit and younger so I get it. But a more older heavier Kraven would have been more badass I think. Especially after playing the Spider-Man 2 game and seeing what they did with Kraven in that game. As for the rest of the trailer, it looks like an action film I have seen a million times before. Nothing looks original to me. And Rhino looks god awful lol.
