"French Riviera", that in the end is a portion of Italian Riviera that due to Historical reasons got under French occupation, but is 100% Italian in its architecture

We are Planning a trip to this area,
Was considering either Comogli or Sestri levante as home base,.. which one would be preferable to spend extended time?

Hi Andy, this is a wonderful part of Italy for sure and so glad you're considering to visit Camogli and Sestri Levante as they are both so underrated! To be honest, that is a very good and hard question! I loved both equally! That being said, I think you would have more to do in Camogli, so maybe Camogli!

Hi Daniela. Thanks for the wonderful video. We are planning a trip to Italy this October. Had a query. We either have time to cover Portofino region or Cinque tere. What would you recommend. Because if we cover both we will have to skip Lake como which we don't want. From your video Portofino looks more appealing. Please suggest. Thanks

Uhhh that is a really tough one! Many people would prefer Cinque Terre because of its popularity. I honestly really enjoyed both. So to me, it would depend on how much time you have I guess: Cinque Terre can't really be appreciated in just one day (in my opinion). You would be rushing way too much. Portofino on the other hand is small, we visited just in a day together with San Frutuoso and it was perfect. The other difference is that a visit to Portofino will be more laid back, with less things to do while Cinque Terre requires you to do a bit of walking around (you don't have to hike all of them if you don't want to but many people do) and it has 5 different places to visit so it's a bit more full on. Hope this helps!

@@danielazziptrips Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestions. With a 4 year old child with us I think we would then go for Portofino. Thanks again. 😊

Please do not associate Portofino with celebrities, it’s an historical place full of history and beauty it’s an insult to the Italian history

    • @danielazziptrips

I completely agree that Portofino it's beautiful and it is more than just celebrities, but you can't deny that it's one of the reasons why Portofino is popular. Apologies if you feel insulted by it, but it is a big part of the history of the town and that should be mentioned too
