I'm lengthening a synthetic stock with spacers and would like to reuse the recoil pad, however will need longer screws. Any way to remove the screws without damaging the pad?
For cryin' out loud, use the proper screwdriver!! Those screws were POZIDRIV not Phillips. If you don't know the difference - pozidriv screws look similar to a phillips screws BUT you'll notice little diagonal lines in the screw head in addition to the slots. Using a phillips screwdriver will strip the pozidriv screw and it will raise a burr on the slot.
Saw your video and immediately did this and didn’t think twice. Came out perfectly even though I feel like I MacGyvered it together
I’m not gonna lie I giggled a little when he said KY jelly
Very good job and explanation 👍
Fixed my delima, thanks!!!!
Put soap on the screw dry soap from draging it accross a bar of soap before running it into the new wood.

Suggest using a extremely sharp wood chisel to cut down the dowel rod

Another way is to stick a wooden chop stick in the hole coated with wood glue
Bad news for me...I have one stripped on a plastic stock.
You can make a repair with two-part epoxy and then re-drill
@@WHATAGIRLWANTS2009 Thanks...I will look into it.
