  • We started our trip from Black Point Marina and then headed to Billys Point at Elliott Key. Being that the day was perfect for our Deck Boat, we decided to venture to the Keys which we haven't been to in a long time. With the type of boat we have, we only venture to open waters on perfect days. Otherwise, it becomes too choppy and our boat doesn't handle 2 to 3 feet waves so well. The Tahoes are made for Lake Water. Don't be fooled in case you want to buy one. It's horrible for open water and you feel every wave when it's just 2 feet waves. Other than that, on good days, the boat is amazing. So we headed to the Keys, more precisely, we went to Molasses Reef. This shows our entire trip on how we got there. If you are a new boater and ever want to head towards the Keys, let me know. Comment on my video and we can figure out a day to plan our trip out there. It's amazing. However, you need to know the way because there are a lot of sandbars on the way and I wouldn't recommend you going on your own if you have never gone. The trip from Black Point is farther than if you go from Homestead Marina. Either way, it's still a long trip (about 1 hour and 30 minutes going 35-40 mph) just to get to Gilbert's Resort and then another hour to get to Molasses Reef. Hope you guys enjoy my video and don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE!!!

      Brandon Durkin thanks bro for watching. Happy to hear you enjoyed the video. Yeah Florida water down here in Miami/Keys is definitely different than the New York waters. Although I love NY too but for other things. Thanks for commenting and I hope you subscribe. Have a nice Memorial Weekend.

    Bro you went to the keys from were to where and how was fuel in that boat? Also i want to buy my first boat similar to yours i for my family just the 4 of us we don’t do much fishing but love the water and water traveling

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  4 роки тому +2

      Jay orlando I went from Homestead Marina to the Keys. Pretty much to John Pennekamp Park area. That’s from where I show in the video where I finally head into the open waters. Fuel in a new boat isn’t that bad. I have a 45 gallon tank and by the time I head there and back I consumed only about 1/4 tank. My Tahoe2150 is nice but it’s definitely a lake boat. It’s not meant for open waters. I got it because I’m not much into going out far for fishing and rather go to sandbars in the Bay Area. Thanks for commenting and asking questions. I hope I answered them. Take care bro. 👍

    How long does it take to get from Blackpoint to Gilberts?

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  3 роки тому +1

      I actually leave from the Homestead ramp because it saves from having to go around the low areas to get to the channel that leads to the keys. But from the Homestead ramp with good weather (low chops) it takes about 45 minutes. From Blackpoint it would probably be an hour because it’s further north and the channel leaving the marina is a long no wake area. Hope that helps.

    Cool and fun video. Nest Key is a nice spot and you have to keep your music down so its relaxing. I had an issue myself finding it the first time. You have to stay north of the island and the beach area is on the west side. Oh and dont think there aren't any sharks by Elliott....caught a bunch of bulls, blacktips and lemon sharks in the channel at the sandbar. Lol

      Thanks for the tips! Greatly appreciate it. I want to try and go to Nest Key eventually one day and I'll make a video of it.

    Hey dude, nice video!! Always nice to see a young couple enjoy a day out on the water. Hope you guys have many more of those days. Just curious, how long did it take you from Black Point to Molasses Reef?

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  4 роки тому +2

      David Falcon thanks bro for commenting. Really appreciate it. It takes about 2 hours depending on how fast you go. Also depending if you know the correct route avoiding any sandbars. Have you ever been out there? It’s beautiful. But scary if you’re the only one there because you can’t forget it’s a reef and the chances of sharks being around terrifies me lol other than that it’s amazing. Again, thanks for your comment and I hope you’ve subscribed.

      I used to dive Molasses many years ago. Looking into getting back into boating. But I’m on my own when it comes to the reefs, my wife must be watching the same shark documentaries! Lol.
      Looking forward to seeing more of your vids.

      How long did it take you to get back to Elliott Key from molasses reef

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  4 роки тому +1

      Xa 1 hour 30 more a less. So going from the Reef back to Elliott Key Calculate this: It’s about 10 miles out into the ocean to get to Molasses Reef (so depending on how fast you go that’s the time you get heading back to the inlet, then once you’re in the inner side of the keys (by Pennekamp) heading past Gilbert’s and the 2 bridges it’s about another 30 minutes or so, then finally after the last bridge heading towards Elliott it’s another 12 miles from there. So in all...it could be anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
