This is the first halo title where, “to my knowledge,” I’ve ran into cheaters galore. I’m sure other titles had cheaters but I never really recognize them or the Anti-cheat was much better I guess 🤷🏾♂️. Anyways I stand firm on my opinion that Halo should have never went free to play bruh. I would have gladly paid $60-$70 for it.
This dude literally hacks previous Halo games to produce the very stunts that got him on the radar on YT. It's just one cheater besting another cheater. At the minimum he's using trainers which are still cheating just mildy liter than outright cheating.

I've matched against him in ranked slayer. We won. He went 20-18, I went 15-15. I was pretty anxious and lost a few 1v1s I normally wouldn't. One of my team-mates was a beast and went 20-8.

@@GraveUypo Unfortunately, MAC address is only a little better. You can still change/spoof it. Device banning also comes with a few added problems, like accidentally banning a router, which would then ban everyone on the network. The only thing worse than not banning a cheater, is also banning 3 non-cheaters who happen to live in the same apartment building. It also wouldn't prevent the user from using the same account from a different machine (unless you ALSO ban their account). And even if you do ban the right machine, there's no guarantee that it's only used by one account/person. All of which is to say that it's a non-trivial problem that doesn't have a one-liner solution. There are some smart people trying to solve it, some smart people trying to beat it, and a whole bunch of people (devs included) who really don't care.

it's much better to ban a person based on their PCs ID (the thing that Operating Systems can check) as to modify that you need to modify the components that make up your PC. (will cost a lot of money for hackers)
I’ve sadly dealt with actual cheaters. Mainly the ones on infection who have laser like aim that even after killing so many players haven’t ran outa ammo or one in Halo 3 where this guy literally had a sniper rifle the whole game and shot countless people. But when I killed him and picked it up, the ammo counter showed it never been fired.

@@RepresentWV Make it easy to report cheaters with an instant temp ban until a tribunal of players can review footage, and make a judgement. For those that are caught up in a report erroneously, allow them to appeal the perm-ban. I'm not sure how that would go to not be abused by cheaters.... maybe they take a rank reduction or a temp nuke on your account advancement while every game you play for a period of time is recorded and reviewed prior to being re-instated with prior rank.

Some gamers have incentive to cheat to reduce the grind time. For example speedrunners may cheat for optimal rng even though their skills are good. In this case probably to reduce climbing time.

Holy shit 343 needs to add a way to opt out of crossplay.
They also need to add that super intrusive anticheat that everyone was crying about a few months ago.
i would stop playing on pc on the spot in they added a way to opt out of crossplay.
i don't like how the game runs on the series X but that's a downside i would be willing to live with

343 has a way to opt out of crossplay in ranked so I hope they add a way to do it in social too.
MCC even let's you play with certain inputs too.
