Easily the best Rush drummer on all of youtube. Probably the best Rush drummer on all of the earth at this point. You are like 99.9% perfect on everything you post here, and I absolutely love to see it. As Rush fans, we all wish we could've had a constant shot of Neil playing each part of each song just so we could witness his magic on a deeper level. You, sir, have given us Rush freaks essentially just that; your videos are nailing everything down to the absolute smallest detail of Neil's every precise move. Love it!!!!
@@MusicAsWeMakeIt what gets me is how he even nails every little pause that isn’t counted in some songs. Like in something like Cygnus Book II where there’s that long bit of silence between some sections of the song. Those pauses aren’t counted at a certain tempo, they’re just randomly timed by the band all looking at each other and moving at the same time. Somehow this guy nails every little uncounted pause in every song that has one. I probably explained that terribly but I hope you get what I mean lol
I enjoy watching your videos. After watching this I was thinking that Neil Peart did more on the last 20 seconds of the video than more than 100 pop songs combined today.
A dated a very talented ccx drummer in the early 80s. This was my favorite jam to watch and experience live while he was practicing. It was mesmerizing indeed.
1:20 into the video, liked and subscribed. Keep the videos coming bruh. Nice hi hat control. Excellent work on covering this song. Neil's style is nowhere near easy to emulate. You done good kid. You done real good.
You nail it Sterling just like other Rush songs. If there is a tribute concert with Geddy and Alex participate in it, then you have to be the drummer. A perfect choice for the show.
I am 5 years too late. This was spot-on and, performed without hesitation or, thinking. In other words, it looked very natural. Great job!! #RIPNeilPeart #TheProfessor 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sterling. You're the best. I have learned so much from your videos. I am working with a three-piece right now and we are performing Tom Sawyer, Limelight, YYZ and Red Barchetta. I have been practicing to only your videos by following along. The best way for me to learn is by observing how to approach the drum phrasing.
@@HiVizCamo Oh ok, but there’s is actually a Limelight by the Alan Parsons Project, ua-cam.com/video/61K4TdAgWs0/v-deo.html This one is better (Rush) though, imo.
I;m very late to this party so doubt you'll even see this but the commenter below took ALL the words right out of my mouth. Fantastic cover. And see below lol
Man, Great job!!! A little critique of you don't mind. Neil Peart over the years left the sound of popping snares for a deeper, Darker snare. A more recent band like Volbeat is a good example. Your talent is obvious for sure!!

Said this on another of your videos....somewhere neil is smiling the biggest smile knowing he inspired you....simply awesome Sterling
I know. Dude is a ghost. I've never seen someone so perfectly execute Neil. Perfect mix as well, drums up front. This song in particular. 😮❤

I get it. It's like Neil's ghost is there.@@STSGuitar16
2:37 is the best part of this song and the way the drums complement the guitar.
And Geddy sneaks in a keyboard as well
That part is pure perfection ,but the ending always leaves me speechless!
The snare switches the time signature like crazy, badass.
I heard about 10 other covers nothing comes close to yours you are a good drummer great job love hearing you play....
Át least 3 covers are very good
Can’t do the Neil Peart drum cover without the huge drum set , I love it
Hey Sterling, Alex and Geddy are considering going back out to tour...I seriously think you should send them a video!
I enjoy watching your videos. After watching this I was thinking that Neil Peart did more on the last 20 seconds of the video than more than 100 pop songs combined today.
My favorite Rush song. Sterling, I couldn't help noticing you posted this one on Geddy Lee's 65th birthday - was that deliberate? 😊
My favorite song too. When I listen to it now, the epic ending just brings me to tears.
So good. Your drums sound freaking amazing. Outstanding performance. Love it.

A lovely performance of my favourite Rush song. Really appreciate the overhead angle, too.
Limeligt trully universal dream... RUSH now and forever! Thanks for all Rush covers!!!!!😀😀😀

Neil’s son??? Didn’t miss a beat!!
Very kick ass! One of the best rush covers I have ever seen
Seriously if Ged and Alex want to continue you'd fit right in! As close to the real thing as it gets!
You nail it Sterling just like other Rush songs. If there is a tribute concert with Geddy and Alex participate in it, then you have to be the drummer. A perfect choice for the show.
Spot on, fella!! Absolutely crushed it!

I watch this at least once a day. Neil would be proud that someone got all his details down 👏👏👏👏👏
AMAZING. END OF STORY. PERIOD.
Great video! This is my favorite Rush song and the ending always moves me. You performed it well, Sir! :)

The last 30 seconds of Limelight are epic...great job!!
wow just wow😳… This has got to be the best cover on UA-cam if not second… No cap
You sir are an exquisite artist, and a fine teacher.
This student thanks you.
Superb as always! Great job!
OK, a little drunk but dam...Neil's ghost playing.
Two huge thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻 from American One Productions Rehearsal Studios in New Jersey.
Excellent playing Sterling. Tough to play correctly, but you make it look easy. Great work.
I've watched a shit load of drum covers for this song and you by far are the best I've seen! Awesome job man!👍👍👍
Fantastic, love this song. Epic cover....flawless
Amazing drummer you are man!!! this is by far the best Neil Peart sound cover I've ever heard.
Flawless…again! Really well done!
Great performance, really enjoyed it
found it a third time and watched it completely - well done mate
Amazing, love the song, love the cover
Ive watched this 100 times by now haha you nail it
Oops, you've googled up the wrong writing credits for your description. I didn't know there were two Limelights.
It’s UA-cam. UA-cam puts the music in the description, and I guess it thought it was that one.
That's too bad, I've started to hate these ppl. As far as I'm concerned there is only one Limelight. Great cover, good job!
@@HiVizCamo Which people?
@@nickavenoso7851 The YouuTube freaks, they are getting out of control. The only Limelight is this one!!

You make it look effortless. Nailed it.
Outstanding performance....Semper Fi!
Nice job! Enjoyed watching it. You payed close attention to all of the details and finesse instead of just bashing away.
Man I love that disco hats
I've said for decades, Limelight is DISCO!!!!
Covering Neil Peart is no small task, respect man, I hope I get as good as you some day
I sure am enjoying going through all your Rush vids. Are you in a Rush tribute band by any chance??
