  • I've been using the Intex 28001E pool vac for over a year, so here's a quick little video on showing it working and being cleaned.

My intex pool bottom is not 100% smooth; there are little bumps and ridges and folds, you think this vacuum will handle that easily?

There are better models out there now. I have bumps and ridges as well and it goes right over them all. Mostly I hand vacuum with the other one because the automatic is for maintenance mostly. I upgraded to the 3000 pump system and that made the hand vac a 5 minute job, so I only use it after most everything is clean.

@@BondJamesBond419 It sounds like it's not getting enough water power to switch over. Maybe try running it without the filter to see if it switches. If it does, & your pump is running fine, there's not a lot you can do. Check for kinks, try a new cartrige filter if that's the pump style you have or get a bigger pump if it works with no filter screen. When it comes right down to it, I use my manual vacuum most of the time, then the auto is used for maintenance.

Do the hoses tangle? What do you do to prevent it?

@@ivonnetenorio7521 The mount on the vacuum rotates the hose. I may have had a tangle once, but it's not an issue. Don't leave it running for more then 2 hours, it usually cycles down about then.

I have the same one however why does mine run so fast what am I doing wrong? does it need to be adjusted somehow, It's not my sand filter, itsrated 3000gph any idea what's causing it to run so fast?

The better the pump, the faster this one goes. The only thing that slows it down is when the little screen starts clogging at the inlet where your hose hooks on to the side of the pool. When my pool starts out pretty clean, I will leave the vac in and just clean that screen every couple of hours. You have a great pump, I've been thinking about upgrading mine to yours and I hadn't thought about it running the vac twice as fast as well until now 😃
      Thanks!

I can confirm nothing wrong is being done (from what you’ve provided in your post) as I have the same Intex Cleaner and I almost fear the speed it runs into the the wall.

I cannot get the threaded attatchement for the outlet to stay on. The threading is different. Any recommendations on adapters?

If yours will cover the threads tight enough, I would cut a strip out of your adapter with a hack saw as wide as needed, then open it up and slide it over the threads on the pool, then lightly put a hose clamp around the whole thing to tighten it onto the fitting without messing up the threads. You could put a piece of latex or innertube around the pool fitting to protect the threads. It won't hurt it if it leaks a bit.
