Great flight. Am amazed with what you been able to accomplish with your V-Hawk talon design. Besides out/return, you could fly a triangle, square, or other loop pattern to fly longer distance (km), without needing to push distance out to the max signal range. A slightly different challenge, but think equally challenging .. and would allow you to fly even longer ranges.
Hi @AeroStuff FPV Nice work..... I'm struggling with my video live feed over 2.5 Km I have 1W, 2W and 3W VTX modules and with 3Watt I am not able to get more than 2.5Km what am I doing wrong ??? Can you list the exact model of the VTX and the Antenna Also what goggles are you using and the associated antennas Cheers !
It’s the antennas. Go for Pagoda Antenna’s on both receiver and transmitter. Or go for high-gain antenna on receiver (VAS 16T Helical or Triple Feed Patch)
@@AeroStuffFPV Hi, I'm not able to get more than 5Km. And that too with Dual Helical Antennas which are highly directional with a very narrow beamwidth. Which means that I will have to have an Antenna Tracking System with a good telemetry down-link (Another Transmitter and Receiver & associated Antennas Added) Could you please tell me what exactly did you use for this particular flight ? Cheers !!
Any reason why you switched from using Zohd Kopilot? Awesome flight once again bro! I’ve been using a tx12 transmitter with the elrs module and it’s awesome for 2.4 they also have that cheap elrs plane receiver I like.
The iNAV Flight Controllers are better than the ZOHD Lite's - You can change almost every setting, plan WP-Missions, cutomize the throttles, mixes, rates, OSD layout, launch throttle, RTH-circle radius, PIFF settings, change GPS settings, have more servo output & many many more things!
@@AeroStuffFPV nice. I fly long range with elrs all the time and never had a controller lol.. my goggles have been acting funny so I’m gonna get one for return to home. I have a video I posted awhile back if you wanna check it out.
I believe you are and have been pushing the limits of performance, build-ability, affordability and durability of foam plus tape. Depron is next level. You go! Oh, would you suggest a good source for Depron?
Thanks! There are a couple ideas for longer airtimes: One of them is considering to fly with Li-Ions preferably at higher voltages (5S3P/6S3P/4S4P) My practical idea is to construct the wings out of depron instead of foamboard which is the same wing but approximately 200gr lighter. Or go all the way with a full-depron design with balsa wood internal structures.
Where is the CG located in this wing? 15%?25%?30%? From the leading edge? I really apprichate your work and stuff you do but in your videos (diy) you are missing these stuff and its really important for People who follow your steps to know this. Thank you.
Great video, thanks. You said you don't like to launch with the motor dead still. I'm the same. You could / should set your launch idle throttle higher than zero. :) About 15%-20% idle throttle and 200ms delay would be about perfect for this plane. That would let you see the prop spinning before launch, and get it up to full climb throttle quickly, without the danger from that 12" prop coming so close to your hand at full throttle. It will remove a finger at full throttle.
Congratulations young man. I am impressed by the video quality coming from your fpv camera. I have the caddx ratel 2 and it's ok I think yours is better though.
@@AeroStuffFPV Triple that, EASILY. Especially for your first plane. Glue gun, glue sticks, the tape isn't cheap, Carbon shaft for spar, motor, motor mount hardware, Transmitter radio, Receiver Radio, or Goggles $300+ on the cheap side, antenna's, servo's, knives, measuring tools, props, motor, connectors, thick gauge wire with silicon insulation, soldering iron, solder, Iron stand, flux, heat shrink tubing, servo extensions, sandpaper, ESC, Flight Controller, Battery(s) (over $90 for 2), more hand tools, foam board, battery charger, Multimeter, Camera, Video Transmitter, DVR, Memory cards, and on and on. Then you will crash your first plane, it's inevitable. Being REALISTIC, $900 minimum. And that's for the crappy stuff. High end, WAY over $1200. If you decide to try it, log ALL your receipts, you'll find this to be correct. And there is nothing listed here that you won't NEED to get to what this completed plane does. And I am sure I'm missing things. And I would recommend getting an old copy of RealFlight G3 simulator with controller, to just minimize your crashes. If you can, get an instructor pilot. THAT is invaluable !!!!
This Twin Bixler type is running 2212 800-900kv DJI phantom 3 "Clone" motors and quad props. It flew great, but maybe a little under powered. Yeah I'd try it! ua-cam.com/video/zAJb3Iyp4YQ/v-deo.html
If you already have the 2212 motors, that's fine. If you've buying motors, something closer to 2216 would probably be better - a smaller ratio between wishes and height.
Hello, Great FPV video. Where exactly does he fly in the USA? Unfortunately, that is not so legal in Europe, there are only restrictions! You build great models with foamboard. I'm still looking for a YT channel in the USA that flew over an area with water surfaces were colored and also had salty surfaces. Must also be near the coast. I can't remember the name of the YT channel right now. Have fun with Hobby, you have more space in the USA for FPV flying. Would be nice if you made a video explaining all electronic parts you are using.
Nice! I thought about making something like this. It’s like a full size mini talon 🎉
I’m loving your videos! So inspiring. Have you tried a build using LTE as the video and control link? I’m definitely going to try out your build.
Thanks!
Not yet. Still pushing the 2.4Ghz/5.8Ghz system to their limits!
Latency isn't that bad, could work. The flying altitude is limited because the mobile base station antennas points downwards.
OUTSTANDING
Excelente, ya estaba extrañando tus vídeos. Saludos desde Colombia
Awesome flight!
Nice flight, good to see the airframe holds up well. I'm doing similar, bit with Ardupilot and bought airframe.
That's impressive 👌
Great work! Congratulations!
Really neat! Good job.

hard to do since the OSD from the goggle is corrupted - external OSD is possible but needs rewiring & new cables inside the aircraft

Approx $150-200 per unit

well, you need a license for using more than 25mw there as much as in (most) europe. Most people ignore that tho
Fly more stable than Volantex
Why no max altitude?
