I'm a programmer. One downside is you have to be CONTINUALLY learning "the next big thing", which will become obsolete in 2 or 3 years. It's hard to learn, but easy to do. The biggest trait you need it to be too damn stubborn to give up. You might think "but there's so many programmers already". There are, and most them are BAD at what they do. Lazy, half-assed, "good enough" attitudes. Trust me on this one, I speak from 25 years experience. Don't be another one of those. 😄 Ooh, if you have any sort of artistic eye, focus on front-end web design. It's easy to show-off your work, and not everyone is good at that part. I'm not. If you can design a pretty website that'll impress people a lot more than that really great database queries I wrote nobody can see. 🤣
