the trend into the future it's certainly called "remote" and "sustainable". If you'er young you wanna have "fun" and so you move where is a lot of other young people who want to have "fun" with you...once you move into your 30's and got all the "fun" out of your system, then London is just one of many holiday destinations for you - nothing else. Having a family life in London is somewhat silly idea...overcrowded and polluted place. It's only for those who are obsessed with some ficticious ideal of a glamour attached to a big city life. If you are conscious, you will move to a place where the pace of life allows for you to provide a good quality education and lifestyle for your entire family. In my opinion. Living in a small expensive house or flat in London sending your kids to overcrowded schools on overcrowded transport etc. If you can work remotely and live in a quiet place with high connectivity and some level of food and energy self sufficiency (i.e. in a more sustainable way), then why wouldn't you. Breathing clean and fresh air all day every day and opening a whole world of opportunities for your kids to explore what human life has on offer. As opposite to overcrowded urban areas where you can't do much - other that what you pay for. I see it as quite a clear line. People migrated to cities in the last century because of available work and services. Now all of this is expanding out of cities and is available even in rural areas. Remote and sustainable is the smart future ahead of us. Cities will take that demographic development into consideration and will have to transform (Singapore style). Adopting selfsustainability and adapting to the fact that people are moving out. Vertical gardens, more open space for parks and emission free zones.
London is 25% of UK economy. Most of the economy of London are services, financial out of that. And most of those financial services are EU tied. Now being out of the EU, even tho it is a planned untangling, the UK will certainly see a drop in the economic activity that was related to this. It is all obout what will Boorish Johnson pull out of his magic hat. Because so far he did nothing out of the ordinary. Bellow ordinary, to be precise, is most of what he's been producing. UK will need a literal industrial revolution just to catch up with the loses it has seen due to Covid and mostly the Brexit GDP dent over the coming years. If London fails, the rest of the UK will do so in an instant.
At this point, if there is no movement for the whole month of December as far as brick&Mortar stores, they are DONE. January will be the point of no financial return.
That last piece was a bit convoluted. I get the that gaming culture in South Korea is huge but those gaming devices that the piece focusses on aren't from Korea, they're products of Japan and the US.
Twas inadvertantly prophetic to begin w/ "a future for cities" followed by Ag & ecology, for that is the future of cities if humans are to reduce our footprint, rehabilitate habitats to halt extinction rates, dodge extinction & clean up our woldwide waste. I designed infrastructure for 40 years, including working w/ ACE & the lead engineer for Saudi Royal family & from here on cities must mostly HOUSE HUMANS&GROW FOOD. Do that and we can return 99% of the planet to habitats, moving most human activities underground. As heatwaves & superstorms increasingly rake across the planet it's the only way we'll survive. Kiss NYC as you know it gbye.

Turkey and their Lira would be better off if Erdogan was not in charge. However, that would also require the inevitable restructuring of that country - which is a mess at this point. Hence Erdogan will use force, intimidation and conflict to keep an image of a strong leader of a strong country. It's like second Russia. They can keep it proped up like this and pretend that it is all natural, but it's not. And the reality will at some point give both those countries a good shake up. Same as has happened to CCCP, which obviously still didn't learn the lesson that you can't act your way into a successful economy - you have to build a successful economy..and that requires lots of reforms and unbiased judiciary system granting rights and freedoms to all the people in the land.
My hope is that more cities recognize how fragile full liberalization is. More sectors need to be taken out of the unstable capitalist market, especially housing. If it's only good when the market is good, and the market is only good a few years every decade, that's not good. Human needs should not be driven by profit.
In Tokyo the Housing Market is good pretty much all the time, since their housing market is very liberal, and it is easier to build housing than places like New York and London, where Housing is Socialized and Construction is Highly regulates.
@Modi Superpooper 2020 it will come from the corporations that will be replacing all of the jobs with robots. India can not afford it. It is simple math if there's less jobs than people then we have to provide for the less fortunate. It is not communism because you are allowed to get more if you want to work for it, we should just make sure that there's something for the least fortunate. In my country the drivers will be replaced and the fast-food industry. The medical industry is next. Robot are already starting to replace us. They are robots that give out medicine at hospitals robot bartenders even robot Cooks and robot drivers all over the country they're not allowed to drive alone yet but they've been driving for more than a year. so if there's no basic universal income how do we feed everyone???
@Modi Superpooper 2020 u sound like a jerk first and ur name is not obviously not obvious and u don't make any sense. I'm not making any robots genius. I like u and everyone on the planet will be a victim of technology. Yes it is most certainly be cheaper to hire robots in places that demand $15 an hr especially if it can done by running on solar. Labor which is not unlimited is irrelevant in running a local economy it doesn't matter how many poor people in other countries you can exploit when you need your truck driven from Nashville to Austin or your hamburgers cooked in New York City. U are a fool to hide and act like the new is not coming. it is coming for me it is coming for you it always has it always will people that cling to the past get left behind goodbye.
@Modi Superpooper 2020 Amazon, facebook, alibaba ect, oil companies, big pharma, ect there's plenty of places to get the money that aren't paying their fair share of taxes rt now. Yes there will be no jobs. So smart guy how do u think we will feed the masses when 70% of the work force is replaced by robots.?? No really humor me since I I've answered ur questions. Well??
Absolute garbage. Once the pandemic fades, it will be business as usual. That is, you GOTO WORK. All this garbage about things changed forever is just claptrap. Those hoping they can "work from home" indefinitely are dreaming.
Maybe it’s the rent/ house costs rising without wages rising
London has the ability to attract talent= people who are already rich, nobody else can afford to live there

Don't invest in commercial real estate. Convert office blocks to apartments! Working from home will continue. This is a huge paradigm shift!
How safe is the vaccination and can it stand the challenge of the time given that we don't know the duration of its effectiveness?
Bring working families back in to major metropolitan cities around the world. Make it affordable and safe for them to thrive.
Wyman is quite decent at dodging questions and giving generic answers

In other words, the world starts and ends with US and Britain.
