Buy cetane diesel fuel addative: Diesel fuel combustion depends on the auto-ignition quality of the fuel. Super-Tane improves diesel fuel cetane rating from 4 to 8 points, thus improving fuel quality, combustion and engine efficiency. Higher cetane diesel fuel makes your diesel truck, car, boat or equipment run more efficiently and more quietly, gives you more power and makes the engines easier to start while cutting down on black smoke emissions and DEF.
@@LowlanderNate It's one of the first things I did. Along with the RockHard suspension skids plates and Rusty's suspension skid plates. Also installed the Metalcloak rear swaybar reinforcement bracket.

At one year with mine, and almost 30,000 miles. No issues. GD tune, running hot shots additive. I'm only getting 24-25 on the highway, but I have a rubicon with stock tires/rims, stubby front bumper, and half rack with rooftop tent. These engines like to run. They don't do well sitting around waiting for recreational use. They really do best when you run them a lot. Mine is my daily driver unless it's nice out (then I run my motorcycle or electric unicycle).
I have the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Ecodiesel - I run a lift and 37s also... the best thing I did was purchase the PEDAL COMMANDER... no more turbo lag and it runs like a whole new jeep. Hands down best modification...ENJOY!!
Thanks for taking the time to make this review! Getting ready to go test drive a 22' JLU eco diesel. Seems like a solid motor, have you had any issues a year after this review?? Outside of gas prices up. Haha
Yea the fuel costs more than gas. But a gas Gladiator on the same trip, same load would be lucky to average 20 mpg, never mind 27! So you take that into consideration, that’s like 33% better. So if gas is say $3.00 gal, like here in Florida, with diesel at $4.25? Again that’s ? 30% different. So it’s close at the cost per mile. But it’s the relaxed power driving up through the mountain passes with no downshifts, that would be least 2-3 gears on the gas truck. The best a friend gets in his gas Gladiator is 16 city depending upon red lights and traffic 18 if both are very light. , 24 highway at 65. What do you get, remember to add in the altitude.
There is a really good company that makes a tuner specifically for the diesel ..it makes a big difference. It's expensive of course but from what I've seen and heard it's well worth it.
@@LowlanderNate I’m considering buying a gladiator and was hoping with the diesel it would at least have a 500 or 600 mile range. Do you know if you can get an extended range larger fuel tank from an aftermarket company?

I installed a Banks Pedal Monster, Derringer, and iDash gauge on my '22 JTRD. That woke it up. I had mine one year too. I'm loving it.
I've seen others mention those products. I'll have to look into them.

That'll wake the diesel up!
I've heard lots of good things about banks and GDE, but the fact that you need them is disappointing. Also will the tuner void the warranty?

Thanks for the tip, will look into it for sure. How do the 37s feel on your stock gears?
PC is a great marriage for the diesel

Yo, thanks for checking in! I had the truck for 2 years, and I had no problems with it. Would recommend. Definitely miss that MPG!
Just subscribed, and I'll continue to be locked while patiently waiting for your next video to drop. I like what I'm seeing with your Gladiator build.

Take care about the def in the gas satation. Inf more u yourself about quality def. Preven damage the DPF system.
Thanks. I hadn't thought to look into that. Will definitely do so before using it.

I have the tune on my 2021 EcoDiesel Rubicon, night and day difference. It's definitely worth it
Thanks! Will check it out
You should check on an auxiliary 2nd Diesel Tank to go those extra miles.
Some extra miles would be fantastic!
My Ram Ecodiesel usually gets better mpgs than the EVIC reads. Turbo lag is actually the lazy factory transmission tune.
That's been my experience with this thing so far as well.
I've got the same tires in 35in
How’s the diesel holding up? Any issues?
It was great for 2 years. No issues. Buuuuuuut… I don’t have that Gladiator any more.
I'm looking at a 2023 rubicon farout package ecodiesel and was wanting to know if you think its worth it.
I think for fun factor, yes. Will you ever make back the $$$ the engine upgrade costs in fuel savings? Probably not.
Are you gonna do a full delete to it? Ive been looking at getting a Gladiator
Maybe in 2025 when the warranty has run out. We'll see how others braver than I have fared between now and then.
What is your gear ratio
Still has the factory 3:73
Been scoping out a Rubicon Gladiator EcoDiesel. How many miles can you get on a tank of diesel?
Well I averaged 27.5 mpg on a trip to Montana and back, was about 3500 miles. 27.5 times 18 gallons... 495 miles if you run it dry?
@@LowlanderNate only 18 gallons 😱??? Yikes, that’s disappointing.
They had to make room for the stupid DEF tank!

I've only seen a couple options that mount in the truck bed. There may be others but that's all I know about.
Too bad the Gladiator will have to be parked outside after the lift & bigger tires .
3" of lift and upgrading to 37s and it still fits!
@@LowlanderNate OH wow ...glad it still fits through the garage doors ( bonus )
I took some measurements and did some math beforehand and I was pretty sure it was going to fit.
Manual math is more accurate than Jeep computer.
What is the reason for the video? Nothing to deliver except fluff!..
