Definitely my favorite version. Such an exceptional song and performance. His voice perfectly suites the role.
The 1992 Australian cast really is the best and it's such a damn shame they only ever released a highlights version because if it was the full musical it'd be the essential recording.
This is definitely the most unique version I've heard. . . Such a shame; this recording isn't available in India :(

Best version I've ever heard of the song.
Love the band and rock out arrangements on this album. The heavy drum and bass and the crazy lead guitar lift this version above most others. Jon stevens is great, but I'd love to mix this band arrangement with Drew Sarich's vocals, That'd be the combination dream team. Kerchang!!!! turn it up to 11!
Wow. I thought another version was amazing, but this one is mind blowing. Love the backing rock music.

I saw this live and it is the best ever! I may not like John Stevens...but he can sing .. I'll give him that....
I can't even try to compare this to any other version, just contrast. So unique.
Probably my favourite version of this song. I love the arrangement and Jon's vocals are spot on. If anything, his vocals could've been given more emphasis in the mix.

Nobody could outdo Carl Anderson, IMHO. But I love the musical arrangement of this, sounds less disco and more vexing. It fits the song better.
It's a shame the album is quiote limited in its choice of songs - if they're all as good as this it would be fabulous.
I love it, I wish the vocals were a bit louder though, also it sounds like there's a little too much reverb, kinda muffles Jon's voice, which is a shame as he's doing a damn fine job!
Best Judas. Only one who went there with the notes.

Sorry but the original Aus cast were the most amazing - Trevor White was awesome as Jesus, Jon english fabulous judas, Stevie wright - Simon - and Michele Fawdon - who acted and sang and gave that role a level not understood by others who just wanted to sing ...I saw the original Aus production 11 times at the Capitol -never done better in my viewx
I saw this live- it ruined me for all other versions of the musical. To me, they all stink compared to this one. I recently saw the one with Tim Minchin as Judas (who can't enunciate or sing btw). It was horrible and I was bored!
