Very different from their first 3 albums this album is the result of HP Lovecraft drummer Michael Tegza teaming up with vocalist Lalomie Washburn for more of a funky 70's album. Their first 3 albums are more of classic 60's acoustic psych rock and their second album especially is full of great songs, for 60's albums they have pretty experimental production and make use of a lot of different instruments.
It was before my time, but the 70s seems like a magical decade where corporations still hadn't grasped counterculture, and *real* human culture was flowing.
Everything seems better looking backwards through the scope of music/tv/film the only thing that was better was the music/tv/film.
Funny enough, many albums at this tome were mainly composed to try and become hits in movies
This is very cool to hear for me, as the late, great, Lalomie Washburn was such a fantastic & powerful vocalist.
I discovered her about a decade ago with the excellent funky-soulful tune _Use It, It’s Music (Mix)_ on a Mark Farina Mushroom Jazz compilation that I bought from a used CDs bargain bin for a buck, on chance, knowing nothing of it, and am very glad that I did.
A very interesting series from the US DJ-musician, Mark Farina, his Mushroom Jazz compilations, you can sometimes find some real gems on them, imo. 🍄
Thanks for this information. I wondered who the vocalist was.
I never comment on anything, but this is too incredible not to say something about... Funky, fresh, progressive, soulful, rockin' goodness for your ear drums right here! Absolutely out of this world. 🤘🔥😎
Thanks so much for posting this!!
Monumental Movement absolutely earns its title. What a track
Thanks for the love, don't get unconditional love from just anybody y'know?
On track 2, loving it so far! Progressive in some ways but they have psychedelic roots... I just looked them up on Wikipedia and discovered that they were formerly known as "H. P. Lovecraft". How interesting!
Sometimes you just see the cover art and know you are in for a good time
Hell yeah, I got an unopened shrinkwrap vinyl of this today
Best music uploader on youtube!
Agreed this guys great
absolutely! we dont need composers anymore lolol
Mes Voeux Les Meilleurs🔬🎧🎙🔥🙏🌌
Very great album ! 🎸🎸🎤🎤
Music of this band is absolutely astounding. Rich melodic speech, harmonies breathtaking orchestration constantly renewed in the use of the stamps of the instruments, in short a babylonian sound architecture erected by humbles and impetuous interpretes-composers🌺
Awesome!!! I need a time machine to go back and never look back (to the future)!!
Вне всяких сомнений, преувеличения, это хорошая МУЗЫКА. Спасибо❤👍

18:22 Now THAT'S an intro.
Fckn cool
Her voice remainds me of Susan Tedeschi's.
👍
This reminds me of Babe Ruth in places......
Is this the former HP Lovecraft? Boy, they sound very different here.
For one thing, the organ driven sound is gone. And the dual lead vocals, among other things
Edwards and fellow original member Michael Tegza subsequently formed a new line-up of the band with the shortened name of Lovecraft, although Edwards left this new group before the first album was recorded.
This second incarnation of the band released the "Valley of the Moon" album in 1970 and, after a further name change to Love Craft, the "We Love You Whoever You Are" album in 1975.
i am waiting for Terje Rypdal
