Bro, trust me, even if you spray it or brush it from airplane or from air space or you do the best you can. People will always comment yeah not in their own head like what’s the best so great job keep it up💪🏿
You could def use a sprayer. I’ve done it between houses in Los Angeles no problem. Just gotta learn how to stop overspray. We would use 2x4 and weed fabric. Or styrofoam insulation boards
Damn that's a great idea, rather than having to o go back behind with a small brush after rolling to hit the cracks, this allows you to tackle both at the same time
Grass gets cut, bottom will be green when it grows back. As long as they used a latex based stain then it looks good to me. You’re either gonna have to stain some grass, or not stain all the way down, and the former is definitely preferred
@@michaelmascella8359 could be professional, go the extra step and use a painters tarp. High end customers wouldn’t care that it would fade over time. They’re going to care that they paid xx amount of dollars and have to deal with stained grass for a period of time.
If you used latex spraying was best way. Product would be dry long before any overspray got to houses. Also helps to use correct tips and know how to properly adjust sprayer for correct psi. If oil then i agree, wouldnt spray.
I just installed a 200 foot fence. I’m planning on painting it in the summer. Any recommendation before I start painting? Do I need to stain it before I start painting?
Smart move not to spray...my neighbors sprayed their fence and hit half my side yardage landscape with their paint.. And got offended when I confronted them...nice job on using your brains guys!
WOW!! Appreciate your response! I used the brush today for a concrete DIY job, and it works great!!! I didn’t even have to tape the walls because the edge of the brush comes up to the edge without getting paint on the walls. Will try my fence next!!
How many feet of fence and how many gallons did you use? I’m about to start on my fence but I have roughly 400 feet of fence and wondering how much stain it’ll soak up
Most often if you pressure wash a deck that has been previously stained he would want to use very low pressure and scrub brushes with a cleaning solution like Dawn dish soap. But also expect that the deck probably will need to be re-stained after cleaning it, most often the dirt, mildew gets in bedded in the old stain and deteriorates the product
There are many deck wash products out there. The best have oxalic acid in them and you wet the wood, spray the product, wait about 15 minutes, and rinse it off. You really don't even need a pressure washer.
Yes, I know I got a lot of comments about the grass getting some latex water-based stain on the eighth two days later it was gone but I probably should have covered it up. Lol.
Yeah, I probably should have, but the homeowner kept saying they were is not worried about it because they were replacing some landscaping along the fence line
2 things....don't ever do that to grass again. Paint yourself with it and get back to me. Never use Latex stain outdoors. They are Never as good as oil. What does the back of the fence look like? You don't have a clue what you are doing.
Why do people like back brushing these days that sounds like the dumbest shit ever. And why can’t you buy naps that can get in the cracks anymore? So far these painting videos of watch heaven impressed me. know anybody that ever liked brushstrokes and they finish coat unless it’s like a specific type of look.
Definitely spray it. And backbrush while it’s sopping wet.

I hear ya on why you didn't spray. There's always that one person in a development that always has to bitch. Not worth it.
Very true!
Can’t say I would be happy paying someone to paint my fence and see them soaking my grass with stain.

Brendan if you want to make an omelette you have to break some eggs buddy, don’t be that customer man. In a month your grass would look good as new.

Hahaha, I love that analogy, I’m gonna steal it! 👍🏼
@@floridaman197 Takes 2 seconds to whack some sheeting down. Its sloppy for sure. Placing the brush down on the lawn and leaving spots? Also sloppy.
Damn look at all those missed spots
It's not hard to get 100% coverage. Very simple unless you are braindead.
Great idea 💡 good Job 👏
So them thangs hold a lot more?!
Genius! Better than using a deck brush.
Thank you kindly!!!!! ✨

Painting with latex paint the boards still rot I think oil every so often the way to go

You can’t spray oil?
Very smart!!
Put at least a 6” gravel “buffer area” between grass & fence.
Buffer area? WTF !!! Nothing wrong with grass managemenrt under the boards.
Do what
Innovative
Always spray brother. Then backbrush. If you’re by yourself do it in 8ft sections or whatever you’re working with. It’ll stay wet long enough
Genius 🤯
Ooooh i have one I’ll do that
You could’ve went to Home Depot , and bought a small Wagner sprayer for like 40$ , and finished that job within the hour..
Could you drop a link to that one time use sprayer for only $40? Lol
So staining a brand new fence? With no tall grass or shrubs?
1st that's a cool way to stain it.
I just installed a 200 foot fence. I’m planning on painting it in the summer. Any recommendation before I start painting? Do I need to stain it before I start painting?
Just paint it. Staining is different than painting. Staining will still show the wood grain, painting all not.
Smart move not to spray...my neighbors sprayed their fence and hit half my side yardage landscape with their paint..

Excellent idea! I’m going to try this. Thank you so much! May I ask how many coats you put on your fence?
Two

Appreciate your help and kindness!!! Thank you ❤
10 times faster...and 10 times the mess. Slow down and do the job right!
👍
somehow a brush and roller got more paint on the grass than a sprayer xD
Why did you not put a tarp at the bottom of the fence so the grass will not get covered in paint
It is a water-based stain so it doesn't harm the grass and within a couple days it grows out
How many feet of fence and how many gallons did you use? I’m about to start on my fence but I have roughly 400 feet of fence and wondering how much stain it’ll soak up
About 2 gallons

Can we use those brushes for exterior wall
Yes I heard from another person watching our UA-cam videos and he said it worked really good putting stain on the exterior walls
Take some pride in your work, at least put cardboard down on the grass..
Why don’t they put dust sheets on the ground ahhh
Stain the fence and grass . 😅 once stain hits the grass it kills the grass where it makes contact with the stain .
It's latex stain
Noobs use latex stain.
You really screwed the grass up.
Just a little lol
Once you mow, you won’t see it!
Did ya get paid to paint the grass too?
Yes, I know I got a lot of comments about the grass getting some latex water-based stain on the eighth two days later it was gone but I probably should have covered it up. Lol.
Wrong!!! Spray it for sure and don’t waste your time like these old heads stuck in the past with no idea how to use tech 😘
Hi.. did you use 2 separate brush for this project?
Yes only because it was two of us doing the work at times
This was so much easier than using a roller or a paintbrush!
@@billydavidsonvip Thanks for the reply Billy. Please what's both brushes called.
@@johnorajiaka3721 Where are using a car wash brush! It works really good you can also stain concrete with it quick
The grass was not harmed
Wut
I can see all your unpainted spots. Dont.brag about crappy job.
Hey
Did yall go back and touch up all the places it missed?
We did a second coat because it was so hot and dry
@@billydavidsonvip gotcha
Do you need to seal the fence after staining it?
You can for longevity, but not necessary

Hey, up there, on that high horse, how about you explain so other people can learn...
Thin out the stain with water use a hand bug spray pump
Could you still do it with one coat?
Terrible work
This work with oil base stain?
Yes you just want to protect your grass if you're using solvent based stain
Plastic bristles not for solvent or oil based products
Jam some spray shields in between the fence. Stain kills grass.
Ground is horrible. You painting fence or ground.

All that's stain all over the grass 🤣🤣
Yes, it was gone the next day
The reason why you think it’s faster that way because you don’t know how to use proper paint tools the proper way.
OK
