I lived on 42nd and Broadway in Oakland at the time of the firestorm. I've never experienced such devastation. On Broadway. it was the most traveled road as emergency crew speed up\down. It was raining down soot After the firestorm I would jog in te fire area. The only distinguishable items were chimneys and cars burnt. It resembled an area that had been bombed with an Atomic bomb!!! Condolences too all that suffered
Fire again, almost 33 years to the day
I was dropping in at Kelly's Cove at Ocean Beach when I could see the black smoke rising from across the bay.
