    May I ask what lenses do you recommend? Also do you use any filters for it? If so, what filters do you recommend? Tysm

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  2 місяці тому

      It depends what kind of photography you're doing and what your budget is. If you're new to photography, I think an excellent lens to start out with is a 17-50 F/2.8 lens from either Sigma or Tamron.
      Tamron SP 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II VC LD is the lens that will work on the D5000. It can be had for fairly cheap as well.
      As for the filters, if you're in a bright daylight situation, I will always use a CPL (Circular Polarizer) filter. Other than that, I will use UV filters but be aware that the cheaper UV filters will give you unnecessary glare as well.
      I hope this helps!

    • @BoostLeekdMedia

      Settings can REALLY vary unfortunately depending on how much light you're working with.
      If you're working with limited light, make sure you have a tripod or a monopod.

I recently made a review on that lens here ( ua-cam.com/video/uh1E3ojiq4M/v-deo.htmlsi=IDFTL48BZIXsRiBD ) but that lens I reviewed will not autofocus with the D5000. From what your saying, this isn't good for long videos/ or web streaming. Can it web stream? However, if I'm looking to straight shoot pictures, grab the 50 mm 1.8g lens and its golden? Also, do you recommend a particular setting for outdoor pics vs indoor pics (like bands - I'm a musician but also nature lover)

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  11 місяців тому

      I haven't used it for web streaming. It looks like you can but you will need to use/find programs that can utilize the D5000's video capabilities for streaming. As for recording long videos, the D5000 can only record 5 minutes max.
      The 50mm 1.8G is a great portrait lens and as for settings, it really varies depending on your lighting situation. Settings can change from nature to building shadows to indoor rooms. So, there isn't a "best setting" for your situation.

    I really appreciate your channel! Have been binging for a while today. But one question, I'm between a $20 D80 and a $75 D5000. The D80 is a steal even though it doesn't come with batteries, but the D5000 seems better quality so I won't have to buy another one sooner and it comes with a battery, though I probably have to buy a new one anyway.
    Another deciding factor is which one will do better with Nikon 55mm f/2.8 Micro, a lens I also can get for a good price and really eager to use.
    I'm a beginner photographer and this would be my first DSLR, after coming from a simple 2010s point and shoot. I want to learn how to use one without it being too oversimplified, which is why I picked older Nikons.
    Any advice is super appreciated, and you got yourself a new sub :]

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Рік тому

      Thank you for the kind words and the sub! As for the cameras, the D80 is only sketchy because there is no battery so you won't know if it's working or fully functional. But, for $20, it's not a bad deal. I would definitely get the D5000 though. That micro lens isn't bad at all but it is a fully manual lens, which is fine if you don't need the autofocus. I hope this helps.

      @BoostLeekdMedia  4 місяці тому

      The upgrade from the D5000 to the D5200 is the better video quality, better image quality and better autofocus speeds and performance. But I would still suggest getting quality lenses if you're moving from them D5000 to the D5200. Depending on your level of photography, I would definitely get lenses instead of "upgrading". • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  8 місяців тому

      There are a few factors that could be giving you bad results too: low light situations, camera settings, type of photography and autofocus settings.
      Depending on what kind of photography you're doing, it's hard to say what lens to suggest. I would suggest a prime lens like the 50mm F/1.8G or the 35mm F/1.8G DX lens. Another lens I would recommend is the Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, which would be an excellent all-around lens that will replace the 18-55 lens.

    Hey Khoua,
    I am an amateur photographer, I started off using my dads D7100( with the kit lens 18-140mm and a 50mm 1.8), its great! but at the same time I've been seeing literally every photographer right now using a Fuji/Sony/Leica...i was thinking about getting a Fuji X-e4 cos I really like the low profile and smaller lenses. The thing is I'm kinda in a dilemma as to whether I should even get a new camera.
    As you deal with a lot of cameras in general and older ones as well, your advice would be most valuable for me.
    Thanks and best wishes.

      Thanks @kamals_eye ! Difficult to say because it depends how much you're using your camera and what kind of photography you like to capture. But, I would add that you don't let the folks with the latest and greatest gear make you get the latest and greatest. A really good lens goes a long ways.
      But, if you are needing a more 'portable' camera, I can see why the mirrorless cameras make an amazing option. I love my Z50. The Z30 is basically the Z50 but just a little smaller. Personally, I would stick with Nikon since you already have the incredible Nikon D7100 and 2 amazing lenses. I hope this helps!

      It's already been said, but don't get too hung up about gear being older. As long as it's in good working order, it'll surprise you just how good it can be if used well.
      I have a D3000 and a D3S. While my big full frame camera is 'superior' in many ways, I've recently attached some nice glass to my D3000 and really been enjoying getting back out with that. It's started to bring back the passion and drive that I lost over the years, and has more than proven it's capable of keeping up as long as I do my bit (slow down, take in my surroundings and utilise the correct train of thought in getting my shots).

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Рік тому

      Depends on your budget. Hard to suggest since it's a pretty heavy investment, financially. The decent laptop will already be between $800-$1200, and that's for the mid-tier level laptops. As for cameras and lenses, if I were to start over, especially for weddings, I would get 2 camera bodies. My first body would be the Z8 with the Tamron 35-150 F/2-2.8 lens. The second body would be the 'older' pro body, like the Nikon D3 with a nice wide lens prime on it, preferable a 28mm F/1.4. This is just me and my style of photography. I know there are wedding photographers out there that use 2 prime lenses so it really depends on your style of photography.

      As for the lens, it depends on a few factors; your budget and your style of photography. I think a good lens to start out with is a used 50mm 1.8G lens for portraits. You can find a used one on Adorama, KEH or B&H for under $120 (depending on the condition it's in). But take a look online to see if the 50mm F/1.8G lens is the lens that fits your style of photography too. I have used the 50mm F/1.8G lens on my portraits videos in my channel.
