Since I was the tiniest version of myself, I've loved Christmastime. I learned it from my mother, who also loved Christmas and never failed to make it a joyous, magical time for our family, no matter what. We spent hours upon hours of our time making cards and cookies & candy and listening to carols and singing along. Since the loss of her several years ago, Christmas has become even more special, holding all the best memories that we still share with each other year after year, keeping her memory alive. I could create for Christmas all year long and never get tired of it. If I thought I could pull it off, I'd be that girl that opened a Christmas store and be open all year long. I'd fill the store with every one of these handmade treasures. Thanks, Jackie, for giving me one more reason to smile and cherish what's really important.
Nicole, you could absolutely be that girl!! One of our favorite trips we take every year is to Pigeon Forge Tn and we always go get our yearly Christmas Ornaments there. It is ALWAYS slammed and this past year, because of supply chain issues, it was the emptiest i have ever seen the store and it was still busy! You can do it!
I truly love Christmas and I'm a crafter who has a primitive style booth. However, I feel I can age these slightly and make them vintage/primitive and will work in my booth. So these projects are helping me a lot. No one in the store where I sell will have anything so original and different. Off to purchase the supplies. I think I would add glass glitter to them for a bit of a sparkle too! Thank you so much for sharing and encouraging all of us to give it a try and see what we can create! Hugs and blessings
I love the idea of Christmas year around, great idea I have saved the video. I have been saving the cans for awhile now, I didn't know why but now I do. Haha iv made three so far, but I love the ideas for Christmas and Christmas in July will be here before you know it. Have a blessed week.
After your last tin can vid, a few of us got together and made them. We also painted up and embellished them with iod molds on pallet boards. Very satisfying!!! 👍
I loved the Joy one. You made it look really easy to get that finish. I like them all though. I got some wire from you last week. It already came in. I have ONE can. LOL. I have it painted black and the first coat of chateau on it. It seems like EVERY can in my pantry has the rounded bottom and I haven't successfully gotten those off. So last night while picking up buns at the Dollar Store I bought a can of baked beans.... JUST so I could use the can. LOL. Of course... we ate the beans. But I probably wouldn't have bought them just to have. LOL I can't wait to finish it.
Haha 😂 I can’t totally related choosing my side dishes a according to the cans 🤣 I have used the rounded cans too. Basically the same process without smashing the bottom and they’ve turned out really cute too!
LOVE CHRISTMAS!! Thank you Jackie for bring Christmas once a month all year long. Love the tip with freezing your modeled clay, brilliant! I've got a small stash of tin cans already started. Thanks for sharing for creative talents.
You are so welcome! I appreciate you watching! I’ve filled up a bowl just laying wax or parchment paper in between the wet castings so they don’t stick to each other while they freeze and they’re good for a long time.
I just found your channel and had to subscribe. I can’t believe utube didn’t suggest your channel for me earlier! I absolutely love your shop, I saw that in another video! Lol I was wondering if you ever show videos on how to put floral in tin cans, baskets, vases, etc. Please direct me to them or make some. I need lots of help in that department and your flower displays are amazing!
Love the tin cans and I agree that they will be around for quite a while too♥️ did not know about freezing the clay, so after freezing when thawed it will be soft again??? Please tell me more about this 😮. It would be cool if you gave us little secrets of the diy trade on your videos each week!!!! I love to learn that kind of stuff. I could not pick a favorite they were all so cute ☺️
I’ve filled up a bowl just laying wax or parchment paper in between the wet castings so they don’t stick to each other while they freeze and they’re good for a long time. Pull out a few at a time or whatever you need and as they thaw, they get soft again.
Loved the video! Will begin saving cans. I did notice all cans do not have that rim on the bottom. Have you ran into that problem? Anyway you are an inspiration, girl!
I have ran into that! I’m finding that any cans that have a pop top, have the rounded edge and will not remove with a regular can opener. I’m saving them for other can projects. More videos coming on those ideas.
@@ruthandruby I must be the last person to jump on this bandwagon, but finally I caught the bug and went to my pantry and opened a can of refried beans and stored them in Tupperware to finally try my own. Needless to say, I was upset & stomped my foot like a child when I couldn't get the bottom the can off. I threw the can away and the beans are still in the fridge, mocking me!!
If Bri is sold out, I have some on ruthandruby.com. There’s a direct link in the description. If you order three papers of any design, it’s free shipping
I really love both! So it depends on what size space. I wouldn't hang the larger one on a kitchen cabinet knob but certainly would the small! The XL one is also large enough for front door decor.

Great tutorial!!!
Love the tin cans! Can’t wait until next month’s Christmas video! ❤️
Love these!
I've made a few of the can hangers. Love them. Now if I can get my hands on the Xmas paper I will be all set. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
You’re so welcome! See my comment below on papers. 🥰

Very nice, i love it, you could use red tissu paper, :) have a great week .
Oh yesss!! I had some in my cabinet too. I should’ve thought of that. Thanks, you too!

I ran in to that problem. I could not get the bottom off so I discarded the can. If you come across a way to remove them, please share.

I've been trying to get a package of the Santa postcard paper.i saw it being used on up cycle by Bri.

Let me get my order in for them NOW!
What? The Santa paper?
@@ruthandruby yes I want to make sure I get some of it before it sells out. That is the prettiest rust process ive ever seen
Love the inspiration ❤️ Which size can is preferable ?
I really love both! So it depends on what size space. I wouldn't hang the larger one on a kitchen cabinet knob but certainly would the small! The XL one is also large enough for front door decor.
I think I figured it out. Thanks anyway.
Awesome! I’m glad you saved it. Thanks for watching!
Would love to create a playlist but have no idea how to make one. I save a lot of these, but am unable to find most of them.
Do you use your computer, phone or tablet?
How do you remove the bottom of your cans like soup cans
Dumb question, but how do you make a playlist?
Click on save and it will give you an option where to save it. I make a playlist for my favorite UA-cam channels.
No question is dumb. All questions are welcome here. ❤️
How can I get the iron orchid design transfers
will the premade castings be flexible when thawed?
I am so sorry I didn’t see your question sooner. They absolutely are flexible once thawed. Just like the original clay
On the ones with the birds on the can I would have went back over the birds with some whitewash I'm just saying what I would do
🤘🏼
Please turn up sound, very hard to hear sound and instructions.
I don’t care for the red “H” tin can ornament.
