I have a DJ who lives next door who recommended this to me and I'm blown away so far. It's literally a DAW workflow engine for remixes that can be exported to be used live later on! Thank you for creating this software as it saves a lot of time and gets the creative juices going.
I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for this software I've been mixing since 1997 and getting older, standing up in-front of my setup has been getting harder and harder but I can make mixes faster and easier with this software. Thank you
Insane software, switched from Mixmeister and created my yearmix this year with DJ Studio. But looking at the video's you can do sooo much more. Stems are awesome! Cant wait to do more with this software!
❤ Very nice video. You say that the two tracks cannot be mixed. Fine: but if I wanted to not only mix the two tracks but overlap them together, how could I do to synchronize the time? What trick could I use in DJ.Studio? Thanks
I used the wrong wording. What I meant was that the intro of this track alone was not enough to mix it into the previous track. There is no structure to mix it in on. That's why I borrowed the instrumental part from the 5th phrase and copied it to the beginning. This way, you can mix this track with ease into any other track, with the right tonal key, of course ;-)
OK, trying to edit one song. The song is a explicit version and I wanted to turn it into radio friendly version. It’s not easy to do in your software. Give it example just moving Where I want to cut the song it jumps over onto the beat grid but the part that I want to cut I can’t get to it and when I try to cut the song, it has an option of split which based on the other software that I’ve used split means That one track this software doesn’t do that I use Adobe audition and able to navigate to do simple task within a few minutes and I find the software hard to do simple navigations like cut split things like that
Hi Tony, are you zoomed in enough to the beatgrid? That will give you more precise control. This video shows at 1:44 how to use split markers and make cuts: ua-cam.com/video/FBGLAhkJr9E/v-deo.html. We are adding in the process of adding text detection to DJ.Studio. If DJ.Studio can recognize the text spoken, we will also be able to automatically Mute the vocals in the areas where there are curse words! Wouuldn't that be amazing?
In the middle bar on the right side of the screen, there is a keyboard icon. It shows all hotkeys ;-) In the settings, you can reassign every function to your favorite hotkey as well.
@@djstudioapp I've been trying to make song edits with a different intro but not been able to get samples or patterns inform of the main track start marker, but I think its this ability to move the track playhead using escape that has been my challenge
Indon't understand why you move the track to sample 1 & 2 ? Can we just all this on track 2 ? Also how did you manage ton have both track playing at the same time ? (it always want to fade or cut : I can't have both track running at the same time in the same space with full volume).
The decks 1 and 2 are for the flow of your DJ mix. They have blue transition windows. If you want to add one track to another, then move the track to a sample lane, like I did in this video. The sample lanes have the freedom to move samples or whole tracks around. They have transition windows, and the EQ is your responsibility.
@djstudioapp finally got it. The blue transition window is what didn't click at first for me because in an audio editor you don't have that concept. Acid, Mixmeister and Ableton have less features but a more lay down ergonomic for editing imo. I keep on trying/learning with it. Thanks.
New to DJ.Studio. After I hit command D and duplicate a sample. When I try to drag the duplicated sample to the end of the track to create a beat outro both samples move. What do I need to do to only move the duplicated sample? Thanks in advance for any help out there.
I just wanted to ask, can take a single track into dj studio, which doesn't have a fixed bpm and use AI beat mapping to fix the entire song? I want to remix an 80s track
Sure... Make all the edits you want. Before you export, switch the beatgrid to Manual and set the BPM you want. The whole track will be quantized to that BPM.
My STEM does function on my DJ. Studio. The playhead just stops when it gets to the transition junctions. I get the same results on 2 computers. A MBP and an apple desktop.
I would like to see a video or how to video if I want to clean up a track taken out the versions one song, not trying to mix I find it very difficult to do on this software
Why does it say only a year of support when I want to purchase the ultimate? So I have to pay another $300 next year for updates when it's supposed to be a perpetual license?
No. You buy the perpetual license, and it comes with 1 year of free updates included. After that year, there will be some sort of small update fee if you want to receive updates. If not, the software still functions.
Not quite the same as this but I've been using an earlier suggestion based on this concept, which is sampling the drums from a track which has massive beatless sections in it. The result is the energy is lost unless you provide your own (that track's) drums.
Correct. In my case the intro was so "empty" that it was possible to take the complete instrumental. And it was done in the professional BeatSource edit as well so I just rebuild that one ;-)
Cool now I want to mix 2 songs that requires intros and outros, just used up all the sample lanes. So I have to go onto options, enable 3 lanes. So I can get access to one lane for vocals. But now I want to ratchet it up with another stab from another..... Oh, we have reached the limitations of creativity with DJ.Studio. If you aren't going to allow more than 2 tracks, can you at least allow us to crush the sample lanes that are just edit sections of the original track back onto the track lane to free up the workaround lane, sorry I mean sample lanes. Otherwise we need to export it as a track and reimport it, and then it's a total sh*it show if we want to edit the edit again. Thanks for the series on sample lanes, it seems to be the repeated solution to everyone's genuine complaints about the software, but it would just be alot nicer if we fixed the underlying requests

That is so nice to hear! Thank you for your kind words!
This is simply amazing! How I wish I had this software 20 years ago!
haha... 20 years ago we were making other software ;-)
We are glad that we are now mkaing this DJ software. It's definitely a lot of fun!
Nice simple and easy to understand video, as per usual 😀 Thanks Siebrand!
My pleasure!
The dog should have a try😀 Thank you Great!
Thank you too!

How cool that you made your yearmix already! We have indeed a lot of options you still need to discover ;-)
Genieten
dankjewel!
Siebrand, leuk je hier te zien. Was aan het zoeken op DJ Studio. Dank voor het inzicht. Groet Arnold Mulder.
Dag Arnold, Vindt je DJ.Studio leuk?
@djstudioapp binnen 5 minuten een leuke mix gemaakt. Nu eerst de tutorial maar eens door. Eerste indruk, ja heel erg leuk.
Back in the algo…it’s all true, happy new year squad

Thank you. It is an easy trick that you can apply to any radio edit.
Quick and clever🎉
There are very useful things in this DAW. Definitely better than Serato studio so far
I love Dj studio. It helped me learn a lot of things as a beginner. Could you please publish a list of all the hotkeys both for Windows and Mac?
In the middle bar on the right side of the screen, there is a keyboard icon. It shows all hotkeys ;-) In the settings, you can reassign every function to your favorite hotkey as well.
I've been trying to move samples before the song start for weeks with no joy. Press "Escape" and boom problem solved!
Oh, sorry for this hidden feature. We could make a better UI for this, but I'm happy that you "discovered" it now ;-)

Try grabbing the sample header with the mouse while keeping the Option or Alt key pressed. It will create an individual copy of the sample.
Hi Siebrand! Will there be an upload of Armin van Buuren's showcase with DJ Studio? I was under the impression that the event would be uploaded?
We are waiting for the recorded media and what will be approved to show online. Armada Music is very strict about what media gets released.

So how do you save it?
You can export it to an mp3 of WAV file.

Or if I’m wrong, the software is only designed to mix tracks together not sure
You can use Dj.Studio for both things: make a DJ mix and making a mashup/dj edits

é um exelemte programa mas é muito caro para comprar...para quem usa somente para criar "intro" e "outro"
That is so strange, I was only doing this exact same thing on Sunday with a Rihanna track, great tip though.

Any DAW can do this.
Almost correct. Not ANY daw can do stem separation on the fly ;-)
