I kind of agree. She's very adept at using pedals and gizmos but I don't think much of her as a guitarist. That said, from what I've seen of her she seems like a very cool person... and being gorgeous certainly doesn't hurt.
There are many ways to be amazing. Not everyone has to be a shredder to be an amazing guitarist. It's like the people who call The Edge overrated. I mean, he pretty much defined an entirely new sound and style of guitar playing. Personally I don't want everyone to be a shredder, or a great blues guitarist, etc etc.
@@JeffSmithbureau13 Where did I say I wanted or expected her to be a 'shredder'? Or that The Edge was overrated? I can't stand most 'shred' players (Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen, etc.,) and good blues guitar playing is almost extinct (mostly ersatz SRV wannabes). My favorite guitar players are not what most people would consider shredders (even though some of them are technically accomplished): Lou Reed, Nick Drake, Elliot Easton, Marc Bolin, Fred 'Sonic' Smith & Wayne Kramer, Johnny Ramone, Ron Asheton, Steve Jones, Annie Clark, James Honeyman Scott, etc,. I'm more interested in players who are tasteful and play to the song and/or are able to lock into a hard groove with some style. Some of them use effects (mostly distortion) but you can still hear that they're playing a guitar. And they played SONGS. While I can appreciate Ms. Lipstate's acumen with effects and tones, it seems like that is the extent of her repertoire. I'm never really hearing her play the instrument - I'm hearing a wash of treated sounds coming out of a signal chain. It might sound cool, but it seems like the guitar itself is only a means to an end - as almost if she's hiding behind all of the equipment. I've never heard her play cleanly, which is how I usually gauge the quality of a player. She does seem more suited to composing and soundtrack work rather than sharing a stage with Iggy or Sonic Youth. Either way I'm not that impressed.
@@Daniel-yt6sc It was just an example. She doesn't play guitar like you want her to, so you're "not impressed." I eagerly await your list of accomplishments.
Totally awe inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
elle est incroyable cette fille, je l ai adoré à Marseille, lmais tout le groupe était génial, Thank you Iggy, big boss !!!
I can dig it. ✌️🎸✌️👌🎸very cool.
Gotta Love Noveller
Most ambient guitar sounds like bland new age schlock, but her stuff is fantastic. It’s gorgeously dark and gritty.
👍🌿

@@JeffSmithbureau13 who said that I define “amazing” by how good they shred? Sit down hipster boy
