    Unplugging the cable at the end and letting it hit the floor = Ambient guitar mic drop! (And: cool video, great sounds, great player.)

    Sarah's responsible for my pedal-lust and approach to writing music with the guitar. So cool to hear the process breakdown and exploration.

    I have a question. I tried calling Reverb today but of course couldn’t get a human being on the phone. I want to buy a guitar off Reverb which I’ve never done and the guy who’s selling it has no reviews because he claims it’s his first time. I’m very sceptical, I can’t afford to lose the money. How do the transactions normally work , him and I both have no clue , or so he claims. Please any advice or help would be great , from anyone. Thanks

    I love the idea of composing music around effects and have never bought the "tone is in the fingers" crowd. Unfortunately tone is in the money and I'm poor af lol. While you can get tons of generic effects nowadays for quite little getting any of the unique stuff will set you back a lot. I wish Multi FX came with more "unique" effects. I keep my M5 around mostly for that reason even though it's pretty dated.

    • @omniscientlove
      @omniscientlove Рік тому +1

      The only people who do not subscribe to the tone being in the fingers, are those who are either tone deaf, or those who just cant play and just do not get it. The tone is absolutely in the fingers! Suck it up princess.

    Lessons are great to get a player started. But, if you’re born with an ear, the rest just comes naturally after a short time with a good teacher that gives you a guide to playing, rather than pushing mathematics on you. Theory should follow; not lead a beginner.

    • @DelScully
      @DelScully 2 роки тому +1

      i took lessons for like 3-4 months to try and learn theory but gave up quickly as I just wanted to learn to play songs I liked.. Now 6 years in I truly wish I stuck with them as most of us hit that guitar limbo after a couple years and stay in that same spot forever.. I kind of learn new things the same was as her with pedals though, and experiment with sound more so than technique these days. Would love to learn how to read music one day though.

    • @BCTGuitarPlayer

      @@DelScully : I’ve been playing for 49 years now. The problem was with me was I had a natural ability so all I wanted to do was play. I had no interest in learning to read or write and unfortunately I never did. My ear was so good that I could just listen and go straight to where I needed to be, the play it. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to put anything down on the paper; only tablature. I have to record to save something or remember it. That’s very limiting...
      I had two teachers my first two years of learning. One year with each teacher. They taught me volumes on how to play but I never did get back around to learning the theory. If you ever do get in to theory there’s a lot of different ways to learn it and I hope you’re able to; just for the fact that you'd have the ability to write it down then be able to sight read it and play it at any time; even if you forget it years later. For the fact that I’ve never been able to write, I’ve had literally hundreds of arrangements disappear over time, which is kind of a shame. Good luck to you;)

    I make ambient soundscapes…
    ..not that hard to describe what you do. Also, the instrument you use doesn’t matter. It may seem odd to people that a guitar is involved, but it’s just a stringed instrument like any other string instrument. 😐

    • @saxtonhale1830
      @saxtonhale1830 2 роки тому +2

      She specifically said that it's about the effects, not the guitar

    • @matthewtop
      @matthewtop 2 роки тому +1

      Not all stringed instruments are the same. A bunch of tonal manipulation needs to be done to make a guitar sound like a violin or a violin like a hurdy-gurdy. Also, you are being a bit hopeful for the general populace by saying the average person understands what the hell "ambient soundscape" means.
