San diego truly has the best authentic mexican food hands down! It just sucks that there isnt a lot of authentic spots all over the county. Thered plenty of mexican food spots but they arent so good as compared to the true gems in town.
I'm from San Diego moved to Louisiana and I really miss the authentic Mexican food from San Diego Louisiana has Mexican restaurants but it's central American style no comparison to sd
@@jonathanmalacara4766 Nope they don’t need to. People would rather cross to get tacos El Franc. Tacos el gordo in TJ is never busy. Tacos El Franc is always busy.
@@jonathanmalacara4766 I just went last week. El Franc had a line to get in and el Gordo had no line. Im not saying el Gordo is bad but they are not the best.
Damn idk I’m not trying to hate but I’ve ate their a couple times when I was younger and it really wasn’t good and I got sick from it the last time I went sooo I don’t get the hype
So now tacos el gordo opens a new location wow that mean they are doing good to open a new spot so does that mean tacos el gordo has a taco Tuesday because they said they didn’t have taco Tuesday because of short staff do to COVID but now it over what do you have to say about that 😊
I've eaten at their location on H Street and I was truly underwhelmed. Like so many Mexican places they overcooked their carne asada. Overcooked the juice right out of the meat, hence out the door went the potentially delicious flavor. Also, their salsa bar lacked the right amount of kick and flavor. I won't be returning. ANY taco shop in TJ beats these guys hands down. Judging by the number of employees I saw in this video, their location, well, those tacos are going to be expensive!
The Tacos el Gordo, are not the great!!!... do you want to eat great tacos? The one from Sonora are the best ever!!!... carne asada on a large corn or a flour tortilla,, with all the fixings and salsa!!!... and did I mention the great Hot dogs Sonora style?.... they're out of this world

The worst experience in my life being at this San Diego downtown location…. The staff are racist towards African Americans…. I will be suing the downtown gaslamp.. tacos el gordo needs to fire non speaking English security guards at the downtown gaslamp… BBB will be investigating this food chain In definitely..
Finally. That sign was there for a couple years…
I’m from AZ and every time I’m in SD I gotta stop to get Tacos El Gordo
