Interesting Amy said Salomons can be slow in cold fresher new snow. If anyone saw how terrible Mainificats skis were in the final leg of the Olympic relay Amy definitely has a point. And those were the exact conditions.

Our impressions of current Salomon skate skis is that they been very stable in squirrelly conditions. Do you concur, and do you think the new skis continue in that vein?

Hi Randy - Salomon skate skis have always been a favorite at early season demos in often cruddy and squirrely conditions on mixed manmade and new snow. They tend to provide very good directional stability and edge security. I definitely expect the new skis to behave similarly in this regard.

I take it Profile and Pilot can still be used if I bought a new pair of skate and classic ski's?

Yes - Salomon pre-drills the skis for bindings, and they've done a good job ensuring that the mount position and screw placements are the same for both the Prolink and SNS systems.
