  • So guys all bikes run hot, but not in the saddle. I've ridden many bikes in Spain over the last 18 years, this one is a literal pain in the arse. 🔥🔥
Don't flame me for the 1:1 video it was intended to show some more of the scenery without cropping the Insta 360 footage, if you want the 16:1 view play in 4k and zoom in, 😀✌️

That engine heat could be a welcome thing here in Ireland!

Ok Guys, Today currently 38c I removed the rider Gel seat and took the bike for a ride. After the run I left the bike running in the sun until the cooling fan kicked in and the seat was baking with the sun. Jumped back on and rode home. Seat cooled to normal after a couple of minutes but the rear seat with the remaining Gel seat was bonkers hot. So it seems the culprit was the gel seat gathering heat. Considering it was marketed as a cooling gel seat I think they may have got that part wrong. Still lots of lateral heat but seat and upper body normal.

In BMW forums they say the same thing about the engine heat.
    Thanks to euro 5.....
You gather all motorcycles of the planet and the CO2 production is the 0.01%.
    All about the money!

So guys, just a sub note. We always knew we were early adopters of this bike. Some of the things I have highlighted will not be applicable in most climates. I’m still loving my bike. Stop my backsides cooking and a tweak to the clutch and I’m happy. No bike is perfect.

    You need a DECAT pipe.
That´s the cause of the heat.
    Simple as that.

plastic radiator cover I think it covers 1/3 of the surface. I don't know if it's like that in other bikes but here I would consider cutting out the middle and replacing it with steel mesh

Yes a possible solution, I have been on a long ride today, seat problem resolved by removing the gel seat. But they do run warm. Whilst moving temperature stays normal a couple of minutes static and the fan kicks in

I think it’s only a problem over 35c. We do get 40 plus but I don’t tend to ride in those crqzy temperatures. It still wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. It’s good riding weather here all year round. Just 4 severe summer months. ✌🏻

Hi, took the Gel seat of and zero heat problems at 38c. Looks like the gel seat was having some kind of thermal reaction and just getting hotter and hotter. All good after a long ride without them

BMW f900r is the same thing . Every bike is the same with euro 5. So it’s not abnormal . I saw tenere Yamaha after of road 109 celcius when it stoped with the cooling system on and mine cf moto 800mt with 98.

Some bikes for whatever reason have bad gearbox's. Years back I owned an FJ12. When cold until warmed up the box was just fine but once hot that gear box was just horrible. Other owners said theirs was ok. Yamaha didn't want to know so I sold it on after a year or so. It may settle with miles. The VTR1000 I've now owned for 25yrs has a nice smooth box but I do remember when it was newer it could be a bit unrefined. It's now got over 71,000 miles on it. So in 24 years time your box should be ok 😂

Great lol. I took up the slack today and altered the reach on the clutch lever. Not much change ,🤔 some days it's fine other days it bugs me more. It works ok but sometimes very agricultural

let's remember watercooled bikes are here because of the high temps lean burn engines run too also e5/e10 fuel

@@Richard-pe4cx true but my E5 E10 Royal Enfield super meteor 650 air/oil cooled runs better and cooler than my water cooled VOGE 900

Hi, perhaps changing the coolant additive for better heat dissipation? Motul Motocool Organic+ is a racing cooling liquid

To be honest, I’m not sure, it could be that we are riding more now I am off work for August, the 2 times it’s happened have been 38-40. I’m sure the previous rides were around 35 max. I’ll get back too everyone when I remove the gel seat and test again.

It was the Gel seats that were causing the problem. Removed them and all good no heat at all

im thinking a ECU flasher at this point will not sort the clutch or the airflow around the engine. So although I may consider it in the future. Not for me at this moment in time. Plus it invalidates the 5 year warranty. Thanks though, ride safe ✌🏻
