how you decided that the first 223 and last 223 are low frequency why not first and last 100 for example ?what is the domain of the corrected ECG signal ?

there is a library for that u have to download it from net ans then put that in working directory.write in google how to read edf in matlab then u will have edfread library

muhammad mateen there is no need to download the ecg data, it is very abrupt for simulation purpose, i my suggestion you can use repmat command in matlab to generate a perfect ecg and then try to extract various segments, its more useful for simulation purpose, but if u still want to download original data you can do that and just load it into the matlab and the u can see the real patient data and come to know by yourself that it is not appropriate for research purpose atleast not in the start..
+prince garg thanx a lot for your kind response... actually I want to classify normal and diseased heartbeats or ECG signals... which can be done after feature extraction of multiple persons/patients... I think for this I need a database... what are your views on this ?

What's algorithm used in code to feature extraction and classification plz
actually fft in matlab works only with a discrete sampling, so its fitted for numerical values of the signal
