Fabric glue might be a better way to go. Id think it would be a stronger, more permanent bond, and you can buy it in aerosol cans and spray it on in a much more even coat. Ive never made cloth boots before, but I know different glues function differently in relation to each other and the project at hand. It just seems logical to me. Btw, those boots are really cool. Im not trying to shoot down your work or anything, I was just making a suggestion that you might like to try next time you do this, so you can see for yourself if it makes it any easier for you in the production process or not. They have all kinds of glues at the hardware store, but Im thinking of a red aerosol canister (like spray paint) with a black lid. I think the name of the brand is 3m if Im not mistaken. That stuff works ok I think, but its up to you and your preference... I just feel like hot glue probably isnt a strong enough bond to make your hard work last.
These boots are ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥! I agree.... I haven't had much luck with hot glue holding up on shoes while walking, etc. I have had great results with Beacon Adhesives/Fabri-Tac on clothing, and it lasts through wash cycles. For a project like this, I would use E6000, or another clear, flexible, permanent, weather proof adhesive, along with pins, clips, or a dab of hot glue to hold the fabric in place while it dries.
You did an awesome job. I did a pair last year and I used fabric glue and mod podge and they are still holding up looking good. I brought a pair of kids jeans from the thrift store and used the back pockets to add to the side. Once again awesome job.
Yesssss!!! Love your creativity!!! I'd definitely buy those if I were out shopping!! They look sooo good!!!! Thank you for sharing and I'm going to need you to start selling these LOL!!! You got me wanting to denim my pumps, wedges and all now!!!
I almost had a heart attack when she first started gluing the denim over the suede! However, well doe. I have never seen denim boots because I live where we get sometimes 4 feet of snow in a day! So yeah, no denim boots in the stores. I am going to make myself some and I thank you for the inspiration! Very cool indeed. Happy Yule to you! I'm going to use spray adhesive though and gorilla glue on the seams and soles.
I see that this is an old video.....however I am just now seeing it...and I have to say that these are the most creative, stylish, awesome looking pair of boots I have ever seen. I would rock these every day if I could get away with it. I can't understand how boots like this aren't being sold in the malls....and shoe stores.....I mean sewn together for a better security purpose of course but your idea is on point......LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is the BEST diy on denim boots .... FR im about to grab my old boots and jeans and a hot glue now right NOW =]=]=] lol thanks so much for this video !!!
thought they were going to be a fail but turned out fab. I love embroidery and have a pair of faux black heel booties that are cracking . looks like I need a pair of denim boots for my chambre dress I am making me for spring/summer. thanks for showing how easy I can do it. now to track a pair of jeans for the raggy look that looks good. I remember a day when peol le wanted to go from rags to riches .....well now the rich (and not so rich) like the raggy style of life.
How long do boots like that last? Did you measure your leg to determine the circumference? Do you ever sew the fabric together? They look very cool, I am just fearful that they will fall apart when I walk down the street. Like a glued on weave track hanging off the back of your head. LOL. You have a great eye for fashion.
Octavia Ivy I'm sure she just glued the mcheck out of them to prevent that problem and I'm sure she put the jeans on and did some measuring or whateva to make them fit perfectly
I don't see why this would get 69 dislikes. I think they are very beautiful and unique. I've never seen boots like those in my life. I'm most definitely going to make my own. Subscribed.
Roxy Foxy! Happy New 2019 Year!🎆🎊🎉💎 OMG! What did I just watch? My goodness girl, I just stumbled on your channel, watched this video and I'm speechless!! Those cute, black ankle boots were transformed into a pair of one-of-a-kind sexy blue denim knee length fantasy!! Man oh man, your skillzzz rock!!! The musical beats had me smiling & bobbing my head all through you working your magic!! I just subbed to your channel and am looking for your other previous creations as well as your future ones. Thank you and God Bless you and your channel. 🙏💞👆
AWESOME job..... your video is what I have been searching for....trying to figure out how to turn my ankle boots into a jeans thigh high boot... Thanks so much. I will subscribe!!
Darlene Lark if there's a zipper, you unzip the back or side before extending them to the top. You extend the boots up and around. It pretty much takes technique and patience. And if your boots don't have a zipper it's a much easier process. I show how to complete process in the video.
omg 😍 i love it i have these pair of black boots that will never use and these riped denim pants that will never fit me again i know what my new project will be ❤
awesome boots!!!! 💘,💘,💘 them!! you are very talented I will be watching and waiting for more awesome videos from you!!! would you consider making a pair for me if so how much would you charge me and would you supply the materials or would you need me to send them to you?? can't wait to here back from ya!!!
New subbie because of this awesome video! I just wish I could have seen how you did the back of the heel better. Did you fold it while you're hand was inside then glue it?
Really cute... but one question. Why a over the knee boot? You could have used a stiletto heel I stead of cutting those awesome over the knee boots. Just a question.
TherealAutomatic Appeal thick denim pants. I would suggest going to Wal-Mart or a thrift store because most of their jeans are made with thick denim and it's inexpensive for a project like this.
Best d.i.y. So far on these boots...U inspired me to make me a pair of my own..lol U should try adding studs or diamons or even chains..just a thought..Thank u once again for you giveing me life to and idea i had ...😃 luv to see more videos...
I came across a tutorial for the jean/ boot style. I was thinking... A for effort but not cute. As SOON as u got started I was like OK!! That's how they're suppose to look! Had me imagining going out wearin' those. U r very talented!
Five years later and these are still amazingly awesome!
Wow just WOW!!! I think this is thee BEST diy/upcycle/recycle video I have ever seen!!!! Nice job, super creative & CUTE!!!! TFS!!
Denim will never go out of style
Pro Tip: If you want the top extended part of the denim to stand up on it's own, Starch it heavy with an iron before you add it to the top area.
thanks
These are the cutest diy denim boots I've found so far! thank you! I'm adding pearls and lace to mine w.a lacey flower at the ankle.

You can literally mess up and still come out with a banging jean boot! So beginner friendly
You did an awesome job. I did a pair last year and I used fabric glue and mod podge and they are still holding up looking good. I brought a pair of kids jeans from the thrift store and used the back pockets to add to the side. Once again awesome job.

Octavia Ivy I can't stop laughing.....I'm literally laughing out loud in tears
😂😂😂😂😂
Octavia Ivy I'm sure she just glued the mcheck out of them to prevent that problem and I'm sure she put the jeans on and did some measuring or whateva to make them fit perfectly
Octavia Ivy just wear the boots over jeggings for no fear slipping.

Younique Doll thank you for watching!!!!!
Super cool. love denim but you didn't show us how to determine the width of the calf. Did you measure your own calf?
i never knew we have to make it, I've been looking at every denim website for that boot, thx for the video
I was in love with does boot ever since you stared glueing💖💖.
you did a great job. but if my boots are ankle how do I take them higher and how would I be able to put them on?
Darlene Lark if there's a zipper, you unzip the back or side before extending them to the top. You extend the boots up and around. It pretty much takes technique and patience. And if your boots don't have a zipper it's a much easier process. I show how to complete process in the video.
Darlene Lark skip to 6:55
Darlene Lark and don't forget to measure the circumference of your calf muscle.
Amazing! They are gorgeous! But how did you handle the zipper?
These are really cute and maybe a suggestion to have the shoes on as you build the extended leg.
perfect!!! now I know what to do with my worn out boots, thanks for this idea
I wonder if this can be done with a riding boot or another type of low heeled boot?? I dont wear stilettos.
I had to hit the subscribe button. loved the boot, very creative.
These are so cool! You are very artistic and talented!!!
very cute....does the glue hold durability well??
omg 😍 i love it i have these pair of black boots that will never use and these riped denim pants that will never fit me again i know what my new project will be ❤
awesome boots!!!! 💘,💘,💘 them!! you are very talented I will be watching and waiting for more awesome videos from you!!! would you consider making a pair for me if so how much would you charge me and would you supply the materials or would you need me to send them to you?? can't wait to here back from ya!!!
oh I also just subscribed to you channel!!!
Muy buena idea 🤗🤗 nomas yo cambiaría el silicon por algún otro pegamento👌
Very creative. Dress up or dress down, nothing more comfortable than jeans.
did u zip the back of the boot up or did u leave unzipped and glue the jean over it?
New subbie because of this awesome video! I just wish I could have seen how you did the back of the heel better. Did you fold it while you're hand was inside then glue it?
great job !!! there is some negative comments, just ignore them. this was very creative and came out beautiful!
Alexia Gregory thank you so much love! I really appreciate that 💚
Roxy J you could do this soo cheap from thrifting and make a matching purse too !!
Alexia Gregory you're right, I'm gonna get into thrifting really soon.
I love the way they look. I have bigger legs it's hard to find bootsthat are high. Really nice.
They are gorgeous, you're so talented!
Really cute... but one question. Why a over the knee boot? You could have used a stiletto heel I stead of cutting those awesome over the knee boots. Just a question.
Kelli Harris these weren't over the knee boots, they were ankle boots, that I extended with denim to make them calf boots.
I’m going to make pair love them.
I gotta make me a pair. Great job! And they look better than what I've seen online.

What kind of denim should I get cause I want mines to destress like that when I wash them ? And they look amazing !!
TherealAutomatic Appeal thick denim pants. I would suggest going to Wal-Mart or a thrift store because most of their jeans are made with thick denim and it's inexpensive for a project like this.

These are beautiful but the hot glue will eventually peel off. I would suggest fabric glue or a quick bonding glue.
I came across a tutorial for the jean/ boot style. I was thinking... A for effort but not cute. As SOON as u got started I was like OK!! That's how they're suppose to look! Had me imagining going out wearin' those. U r very talented!
