I did this with my Emperor's Children army. One of my terminators is standing over a freshly killed raven guard. I mainly did it though because my buddy plays raven guard and I just wanted to mess with him.
„A fallen Fallen“ - you know what I like best about your channel, Pete? These subtle moments of humour. Just like when you couldn‘t stop thinking of nasty stuff when building that Slaanesh mini. :)
As others have said I think the Fallen seem to occupy a spectrum of not chaos to fully blown chaos, so doing 2 or more would be a good way to cover this.
Would love to see this. I’m starting a Fallen project myself so have some ideas about what I’d like to do, but always nice to see other takes for extra inspiration.
This was a terrific video! I love customizing bases like this. I use Blue Stuff to make a partial mold and fill with milliput to get battle damaged armor. This leaves me with the original parts still intact.
A little red on the armor and treads on his boot would've been really immersive. But I'm just happy The dark angels are getting some love and hopeful redemption in the current 40k timeline
I would like to add that I did clean a lot from the painting and cork board pieces and I super appreciate you using the proper name for your tools you have no idea how long it's taking me to find out that that is called a "pin vice"
I play against Imperial Fists a bunch, so most of my army has yellow space marine bits on the bases. It feels like a fun way to subtly taunt my friend when I play against him.
My favourite type of dead body base is the freshly eviscerated enemy base. I first did this on a Crimson Fist model standing over a dead guardsman. This has been a theme for most of my armies with my Death Guard chaos lord being the recent model to receive it. It's a simple technique that gives great results. Simply find a spare torso, rough up the bottom then glue down to your base. Once set take some fine jewelry chain pour on some super glue and pile it on to resemble spilled guts. Painting it pink and covering with blood effect paint brings it to life.
Great tutorial, tho it might be worth thinking about the bottom of mareines boots when they're on show like that, some sculpted tread or something might be an easy but nice detail. A completely smooth bottom really sticks out. Could do in with the a hobby knife/saw/file, or a thin layer of modeling putty with a texture tool pressed over it. Could also just be hidden with dirt and mud for a really quick way of doing it
I absolutely love this video! I wanted to have a wounded space marine crawling away before my deff dread squished him so I can use this idea but use the back instead
I am just thinking of how I sacrificed a twenty five year old Land Raider that was pretty janky I was given for a base for one of my Tau Riptides. Then again, it can't really hide too well behind cover now, considering it is leaping off of it. Still looks amazing, 42 magnets later. As for rocks, I use rock molds along with some green stuff, I found at a model train store that I occasionally make terrain for.
Love the build and base. The only small criticism I have is the sword Az is holding is resting on the ground, however there is no material underneath it. It looks a bit off.
Amazing base! Funnily enough i've been looking at bases and how to make different types for a few days. Ideas for corpse bases, i thought of a Tyranid Swarmlord, Hive Tyrant or Carnifex standing over the bodies (note, more than one!) of a few Ultramarines. This would reference the very first fight between the two at the Battle of Macragge.
Oh WOW, is this basically a simple idea yet, at least I haven't thought of this and I think it's freaking awesome and I just have to say, that you just got yourself a new subscriber 🥳
I've been a big Crimson Fists fan since I started playing 40k and no one does any conversion videos for them aside from your Pedro Kantor video. I'd love to see what you do with them!
Looks great. Just a couple things the dead marines eye sockets could use a wash to darken them the look like there part of the armour and the red winged sword of the 1st legion needs to be an the shoulder of the fallen. Now where did a put my Caliban Green.
Great work, makes me want to have this hobby as well Just lacked some blood My dream would be to have the double of an army just so one half was corpses
Since I do not have many bits of space marines, I solved it like this: I used a head and arm and covered them with rubble, basically letting those parts stick out
A great tutorial mate the model looked awesome. Only one suggestion I would make and not as a criticism is on the dead fellas helmet you could of added some dark red to the lenses of his helmet as like you said he's been long dead and the glow from has eyes has long gone out. But once again mate a cracking job on this. 😁👍
oof... erm.. i don't mean that in a mocking way.. but what happened to the drilled Combi-Plasma barrels at 0:20min ? Isn't it a bit.. too off-centre? :/
I wildly misunderstood the tittle, I saw dead space marine, and thought to myself "A conversion to make space marines akin to the ribbed armies from dead space? That sounds pretty cool."
I like it very much, but in my opinion at least when i built a base with a body, i try to put firstly some rocks then i put the body on it or around it, i think its easier because thats how the proces goes in real life, the rocks dont surround the body, but the body falls on the groung.. but if you want to make something what is a little bit longer in the ground then sure why not :) but the paint job excelent :)
Can you do a homebrew model of a Frost Suns chapter master they are space Wolf's thousand suns but at like the death watch but have spent hundreds of years in the warp but still loyal to the imperium
Would you have the interest to do a video on how to convert chaos space marine into loyalist? I am planning to convert Abaddon into my loyalist 40k Luna Wolves and I really want some advices.
I did this with my Emperor's Children army. One of my terminators is standing over a freshly killed raven guard. I mainly did it though because my buddy plays raven guard and I just wanted to mess with him.
Nice! I usually use some T'au bits for my orks since my friend plays them!
Mind games
Psychological warfare is a valid strategy in tabletop games 😂
I did the same but my harlequin troup master on an imperial fist
That plasma glow on his combi-bolter is really nice, would be cool to see a tutorial for that if you haven't done one already
I used the same technique demonstrated in my plasma glow video, albeit swapping out the greens for blues: ua-cam.com/video/fRYM2sughuo/v-deo.html
„A fallen Fallen“ - you know what I like best about your channel, Pete? These subtle moments of humour. Just like when you couldn‘t stop thinking of nasty stuff when building that Slaanesh mini. :)
Excellent tutorial video and something I’ve done for my iron warriors stepping over some fallen Imperial Fists
Could u try doing a fallen conversion that would be interesting
A selection even: one not chaos, one kinda chaos and another extremely chaos.
@@beatsandskiesmtg how i see it is do a standard one with the mk3 then maybe one with spikes and stuff then the last is just a suped up possesd model
As others have said I think the Fallen seem to occupy a spectrum of not chaos to fully blown chaos, so doing 2 or more would be a good way to cover this.

The what? Fallen? Never heard of it. What's your name by the way? Home planet? Ok...
BROTHERS COME QUICK.
Even after watching you for quite a while now it amazes me how beginner friendly your videos are
Nice! I've been using similar techniques for my Space Wolves, just replacing some of the smaller rubble with Valhallan Blizzard
This was a terrific video! I love customizing bases like this. I use Blue Stuff to make a partial mold and fill with milliput to get battle damaged armor. This leaves me with the original parts still intact.
Imagine an entire army based on dead space marines, all oriented in Yamcha Crater™ pose. That's like -2 to leadership right there
You could magnetize it and build a model for every army in 40k that could be swapped out depending on who you were up against 😂
Dead. Spacemarine. Bits. :-)
A little red on the armor and treads on his boot would've been really immersive. But I'm just happy The dark angels are getting some love and hopeful redemption in the current 40k timeline
I did consider this but I wanted to keep the bases colours to be as muted and drab as possible.
@@PeteTheWargamer I seriously appreciate the work you put into tho model it looks amazing still
I would like to add that I did clean a lot from the painting and cork board pieces and I super appreciate you using the proper name for your tools you have no idea how long it's taking me to find out that that is called a "pin vice"
At least we know there's a loyalist on the base.
Nah sorry only dark angels
😂
I see what you did there
Am I turning blind in my old age?
All I see is a traitor standing on another (obviosly inferior) traitor...
I play against Imperial Fists a bunch, so most of my army has yellow space marine bits on the bases.

Perfect. I'll use this for Cypher
Always enjoy your basing videos, you have such a knack for doing them and with such a grim dark style. Bravo.
I've just done this for my Farith Redloss model for 30k with a dead Night Lord, it worked great!
Awesome! Glad to hear it.
Excellent work as always. Very happy to support you on the Patreon

Glad you showed us how to make a dead marine for the base. Might do that one day to place a bad one that one of my characters fought
Excellent! My Word Bearers can now have all the dead smurfs they want!
I absolutely love this video! I wanted to have a wounded space marine crawling away before my deff dread squished him so I can use this idea but use the back instead

I really need to step up my basing game, it adds so much to the model when done right!
Love the build and base. The only small criticism I have is the sword Az is holding is resting on the ground, however there is no material underneath it. It looks a bit off.

You gotta love those mark 3 marines
What a great video. I often use this kind of technique for my World Eater bases.
Oh WOW, is this basically a simple idea yet, at least I haven't thought of this and I think it's freaking awesome and I just have to say, that you just got yourself a new subscriber 🥳
Thank you for the sub!
Ouuuuuuh this gonna be super usefull for my Unforgiven Chapter !!
Thanks man. i will slay these Fallens in your name
Good to have a reference video like this, I was hoping to add some ultramarines... to my heretic astartes' bases :)
I've been a big Crimson Fists fan since I started playing 40k and no one does any conversion videos for them aside from your Pedro Kantor video. I'd love to see what you do with them!
I just go into this hobby and this video has helped give me some great ideas thanks
I read that as "Dead Space" marine. I thought it was going to be a Dead Space themed marine at 1st.
Same
@@The_Sharktocrab would've been awesome.
Would be a cool idea of a conversion, could easily be death guard possessed or another chapter that's fallen to some kind of warp affliction
Looks great.

This is a great tutorial. Didn’t know I wanted to do this till now. Thanks
Finally a good Space Marine guide
Your videos are always on point, informative and enjoyable. Thank you Sir.
Did a similar job with my DA contemptor dreadnought albeit he’s stomping into the fallen’s chest and head
Great work, makes me want to have this hobby as well
Just lacked some blood
My dream would be to have the double of an army just so one half was corpses
Great job as always. Would love to see you do more basing videos :D

Did anyone else wince at Pete “sawing through the ball joint”?
did a corpse base for my IW contemptor dreadnought with 4 IF corpses.
didnt have cork so used clay, the base is a bit heavy but I dont care.
would love to see how you would go about making an impaled or crucified corpse from an intercessor

Excellent!! I was about to do this, then you release a turtorial for it! thank you! :)
I really like your paint work on this model but I can't help but laugh at those googly eye gun barrels :D They remind me of the Cookie Monster
Awesome base and great tutorial 👍
Anyone else watch all his videos but only do it because you like the videos, not because you’ll actually make the model
i love how the calm intro suits a space marine standing on the corpse of his brother (traitor or not)
I first thought this would be a "DEAD SPACE" Theme.
Awesome video man. Its really nice to see the process, as its something I don't generally do.
P.s The saw would mean I'd end up chopping fingers off 😅
Thank you, it's much appreciated! And yeh, I would never put my self forward as an advocate for modelling tool safety 😂
@@PeteTheWargamer haha, don't worry, we all do it. 😅 No judgement from me. WEAR GLOVES etc.
Nice! Can you do some snowy ice bases?
Also, on 40k theories they mentioned an ork demon prince.
Maybe a nice conversion idea......
Nice! Definitely doing this with a Night Lord beneath my Ezekiel's feet.
oof... erm.. i don't mean that in a mocking way.. but what happened to the drilled Combi-Plasma barrels at 0:20min ?
Isn't it a bit.. too off-centre? :/
Was going to post the same thing. Lovely model and good tutorial, but that barrel hole made me wince.
I wildly misunderstood the tittle, I saw dead space marine, and thought to myself "A conversion to make space marines akin to the ribbed armies from dead space? That sounds pretty cool."
I wonder if I could do this with Stormcast?
Would love to do it for some Orruk bases.
The backround music bangs

Looks good but i feel the dead marine's foot needed some sculpting on the underside.
I would have, after gluing him to the base, gone in with some watered down brown as a glaze, added some to the feet, to tie him to the base
Can you do this for the guard, but with either Tau or Tyranids please?
I’m not sure how I managed to miss 80% of the name of this video, but I definitely went in expecting a dead space -> 40k crossover kitbash haha.
Could you do some more basing tutorials?
maybe some tutorial sof ancient corpses? maybe some swords, and rust?
Can this method be used for other things like xenos models for a deathwatch/Inquesisition army??
Dead space marines make me happy!
Heresy!
Really nice! But damn the drilling on the gun barrels was unfortunate :(
Hi Pete! Have you got any tips for doing this with Orks?
Only thing better than dead animal bits, dead poster boys bits.
Can you do a homebrew model of a Frost Suns chapter master they are space Wolf's thousand suns but at like the death watch but have spent hundreds of years in the warp but still loyal to the imperium
great!
I was really hoping to hear you say Dead. Space Marine. Bits.
This is pretty cool, no doubt about it
But i'll admit I was dissapointed it wasn't Deadspace marines
Pretty nice!
Would you have the interest to do a video on how to convert chaos space marine into loyalist? I am planning to convert Abaddon into my loyalist 40k Luna Wolves and I really want some advices.
Wow just wow
I like the dead space marine base but to me it doesn't scream fallen since it has none of the iconic red and white or checkered patterns.
Any chance you could do a Primaris Asmodai?
Please do painting tutorials for Bolt Action Korea
Very nice
I have literally did the same thing last week lol
I want to do this but with an adepta sororitas.
awesome!
Awww, come on! I thought that you've kitbashed things to make Marines from the Dead Space game series ;C sweet job, nonetheless
brilliant !
bros floor is ripped to shreds 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Time to donate some bags of bits - check your tip jar :)
DEAD
SPACE MARINE
BITS!
Damn nice
Could you do some more Livestreams
I play imperial fist and I put necron heads covered in mud as my friend plays necrons. He gets so pissed
what happened to bolt action painting totorials?
I see we have moved on from DEAD ANIMAL BITS to DEAD ASTARTES BITS!
i had a broken toilet bowl as the centerpiece of one of my killa kanz. but demz orks for yuz
For a moment I misread it a Dead Space bases ^^
I don't get it. Where's Isaac Clarke???
Completely flat sole on the boot. Ah, so that's how that Fallen died. The Dark Angels didn't kill him, he slipped and broke his neck. Poor sod...
