It looks like my comment was deleted! I was just writing to say as a bookseller for over 12 years please support your independent bookstores and don’t purchase books on Amazon. Like in an earlier video Desi said having a bookstore nearby was important to her. Amazon has closed thousands of bookstores and supporting indie bookstores supports your local community and creates jobs. If you’re a book lover please consider calling your local bookstore where they can special order you almost any title and ship it to your house if you live far away. We also give great recommendations! I’m not trying to be negative I just think it’s important to support bookstores if you love books!

I ordered a book from amazon once and it came looking like a train wreck and it wasn't even the correct book I bought. It was a completely different book. Never again. I now special order from my nearest indie store Booklore. They always get it right and their books are always prestine.
One of my favourite ways to spend a day is to visit a village/town, here in The U.K. I’ve never been to before and seek out an independent book shop. And if they have a cafe attached, well, I’m there all day 🥰🤣. Both my daughter and I refuse to have kindles as there’s nothing better than physically holding a book.
Where do the bookstores buy the books to sell you? Can't we order them ourselves and cut out the expensive middle man?

Desi you are a master cinematographer!!!! Every video you create is more and more beautiful! I personally love Fall more than any other season and I always have. Summers fun and I look forward to it because of the annual roadtrip my husband and I take with our two kiddos. I don’t typically care much for winter because it’s dark, cold and dreary. I also have never really cared for spring because it’s always felt more like a filler season. That being said after finding your channel a few years ago I can honestly say I look forward to each and every season (even Winter!) lol because each season brings new and exciting content from you. Thank you for sharing your art with all of us!

@@alexandrakridide6628 many book summaries and reviews don’t specifically say if it’s an open or closed door romance, and that’s problematic for those of us who are uncomfortable with open door romances. Im not judging those who enjoy those books, but I don’t want to spend lots of money on a book and get invested in it just to realize it makes me uncomfortable. So I very much appreciate when she blatantly states which one it is.

Hi Desi. Beautiful video as always! A word of caution to someone who has never read Tess of the d’Urbervilles…. Although this is a “classic”… it is anything but a “feel good” story. As someone who loves classical literature, I’ve never understood why this one is such a favorite. For me, it’s a tragic story about a very young girl who falls victim to terrible things, through no fault of her own. If anything, it highlights how unfair life can be to those who are not born to wealth and privilege. There are so many beautiful works of classic literature that leave a person feeling uplifted and hopeful, but this is not one of them.

I've seen so many reviews on Goodreads saying the same thing that it's made me question myself because 'Tess' is one of my favorite books of all time. lol
I actually love this book BECAUSE it’s so sad and shows the harsh reality of her situation. It was the first Thomas Hardy book I read, and I honestly thought Far From the Madding Crowd was such a let down after Tess

Oh my, get yourself mentally ready for "Tess". It's one of my *favorite* classic books and has an important message and plot in my opinion but it's Hardy's more devastating story. 😢

Hey I ve been in a similar situation exactly year ago and i understand what are u feeling.
Its normal to not wanting to move on, u need to process your feelings since its been so many years and it only says that u really cared
Now u need to focus on healthy healing; centre on ur hobbies, psychical health, meditate
What helped me was writing a letter to that person to document ur feelings n what happened n what was the reason n what that person was doing wrong to u as well, u can send them that if u want to really close the chapter
What was also helpful was writing in a journal all the flaws that iritated me in that person, all the stuff they did/ never did and u wish they had did
Still need to read Perfume. I am from Germany and it is the Most successfull book of my country so I feel like it is an obligation for me. 😂

Oh my goodness I cannot recommend Ludd-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirlees ENOUGH! Perfect whimsical book for spring, a sort-of thriller but only in terms of exploring what may be called the darker side of faerie… Such a classic and underrated
Feel free to disregard my comment but if there's any way that you could possibly start putting the book titles in the video description I would be eternally grateful it would be so much easier for me to get the titles from there

I just can't get on board with the series that don't get interesting until the second book. I tried ACOTAR and gave up pretty quickly. I give books three chapters to reel me in and if they don't, I move on.

I just lost my 16 years fury companion, the most beautiful three colored cat, she was the most perfect angel her whole life, she never got sick. She just got sick about one month ago, with difficulty breathing, and the doctor downplayed everystep of the way....we tought she was going to be fine....yesterday morning she passed away with a cardiac arrest and difficulty breathing...and the only way I can cope is to watch videos like yours...I know I cannot blame myself, but she deserved better. She was still so healthy and strong..she would've lived longer..I'm absolutely heart-broken. She was my first fury baby, and I will love her forever. Thank you Desi for providing a cosy video where I can more or less distract myself. 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔😿😿😿😿😭😭

May be you are already familiar with the books from Miss Read, the Fairacre Novels? Written from mid '50s about life in the English country at a village School in that period. I was advised to start with the second book and I do agree. The first is very slow in the beginning. The writer was influenced by Jane Austin. Anyway, Thank you again and cannot wait for the next video! 😘

Tess of the D’urbervilles is NOT a book you are going to like. If you like SA, dead babies, victim blaming and shaming and the unhappiest of endings then by all means go ahead. It was and is controversial for a reason!
It's definitely gritty and Hardy spared no unhappy details.
I was going to comment this, because I love Thomas Hardy, but that cover definitely makes it look like a light, pastoral romance! It’s…not that, Just so no one is surprised 🫣🫢

That’s so strange! I got mine from Amazon. Just went to look through my order history and it says the physical book is currently unavailable 🙁 It might just he out of stock for a minute, so I recommend checking in ocassionaly as it’ll probably be back! 💗
