    We live in West Texas and years ago we lived south of town. One day I was outside of our fence (it was only about 4 feet tall ) and suddenly there was an emu. It kept coming at me and I wasn’t sure what to do. I slowly moved to the fence and let myself inside the gate. Not being a very tall fence and it was a large emu I was concerned that it would come over the fence. It hung around for a while but then decided to move on. They are really interesting to watch. I always hoped that its owner found it okay. Thank you for the painting, it brought back the memory. Enjoyed the art supplies you used in it. The only other strange creature that we had in our backyard was a bobcat, but thats another story.

    So thrilled that you did the watersoluble graphite. I just bought a set of those for some earthy, tonal paintings. I wanted to know how they worked and what to watch out for as this is the first time I have tried anything with graphite in painting. Great video, thanks!

    Thank you, Louise, for this darling Ostrich! I'm very detail oriented and just love how you showed it in the hair/feather here. The brush seemed to be so important in creating this detail. This painting started my imagination of other animal subjects where the water soluble graphite pencil could be used, as well. I can hardly wait to try it! Creating art with this medium is so much different than using oils. I'm finding myself getting excited to learn more about it with each one of your Tutorials! Thank you!

    Quick question, how is skillshare different from Patreon?

    • @msaintgeniez
      @msaintgeniez 4 роки тому +2

      Hi Suzanne, on patreon you support and subscribe to one specific artist, on skillshare your membership gives you access to all the artists and creators on the platform. I have both as I like to support Louise directly via Patreon and enjoy a lot her tutorials on skillshare (they are different). I also found a lot of fun paintings from other creators (like Denise Soden) to do on skillshare. I recommend testing the 1-2 months trials first and cancel if it is not valuable for you.

    • @Lulis56
      @Lulis56 4 роки тому +1

      Suzanne Palmer Skillshare has thousands of classes from hundreds of artists. The level is beginner to accomplished artists. Patreon is for specific artists....you basically subsidize an artist.
