I just bought (2 weeks ago) a 97 5door that has a manual transmission, awd, with 150xxx miles on it with no rust or damage (some clear coat peeling) for $2000 US.
I looked for quite awhile for one (looked at a few that were in bad shape)... this one pulled in when I was getting my 01 Double Cab Tacoma inspection done so I could renew my registration. Guy pulled into the shop I was at and I ended up buying it. Funny thing is he lives about 3 blocks from me (in a small town of 400 people) and I had never seen it before that moment. LOL
I'm enjoying it. 😁

Just bought one about 2 months ago, all green L model. Fwd, no sunroof but power mirrors, locks, and windows. 134k miles, have already taken it on two different 400 mile road trips. Bought for $1900 here in virginia

I got a 96 3 door, FWD with 98k miles for $1,500. 1 owner, garage kept.
That's a steal for sure, but certainly an extremely rare exception
in malaysia 94 to 97 3 doors rav4 selling from rm35k to rm55k (rm4.70 : usd1.00) recently purchased a 2nd gen rav4 5doors for rm19k on the road

just bought a 97 rav4 dark metallic green 5 door its a auto with the sunroof and electric windows pretty sure its front wheel drive got about 192k miles on the clock bought for 1700$ it seems reliable and peppy may keep it stock besides painting the hood black

I bought a 1997 with 202k on the odometer withsome dings and cosmetic issues for $750. Now I'm at 219k & I'm loving it 😊

My 97 rav4 is about 195,435 as of today I’ve overheated it 10 times starved it of oil both the transmission and motor and it still shifts perfectly and doesn’t knock not even on start up my other cars a 94 3000GT vr4 my old 76 corvette and even my 96 ranger even when either rebuilt or maintained well have always given me problems
Was my first car from my old man and it’s still running so well now that I’m older I’m actually gonna baby it more now it means a lot to me

I was just able to find a roof rack on a partout car. Only had to pay $140 for it.

How much did it cost to register your imported Rav 4 in California? Looking into it.
California doesn't allow you to register JDMs here actually. I'm an Air Force service member, and am allowed to tittle and register my vehicles in my home state of Texas while I'm assigned to a base in a different state, which worked out neatly for me in this case 😁

If you have the 3SFE engine, those didn't come with a turbo from factory. Did you put an aftermarket one?
