Man, that brings back so many good memories fishing for walleye as a child in the 70's/80's with the family on the Columbia River around Kettle Falls, Wa. area! The bonus was Walleye tasted awesome too :).
I really like the the way you get the kids active in your videos, keep up the good work would like to see ya release anything larger than 23” good breeders
I have two Lithium 12v batteries. I could not find the link for the exact ones I own, but here's one for very similar ones: amzn.to/3zMPof6 Hope that helps! Thanks! 👍
Love your videos., after many years of bank fishing I am now able to afford a boat and want to get into walleye fishing on it., I will try my hardest to find some good spots for it on the Columbia.. what rod holders are those on your boat .?
May I ask what size bottom walker, size leader and do you use fluorocarbon or mono for leader? Excellent video! My son and I got three today above where you guys filmed this video.
Great memories of walleye fishing on the Columbia below the John Day Dam back when the limit was five over 18 one of which could be over 24. Best eating white meat fresh water fish in the world. Then my fishing partner died and I got old.
Great video! Looks like a wonderful time with the kiddo. Would you recommend putting in at Rufus if I am on the Oregon side? I’ve launched there many times, but don’t know of any other ramps that would be closer. Thanks for any input you could share.
I fished for walleye the past several days around Boardman and Irrigon Oregon. The bite was fairly slow. Do you find the walleye bite to come and go this time of year on the Columbia or is it normally fairly good?
Yes, I will bleed the fish out in the live-well before putting it in the cooler. If you don’t bleed the fish you will have blood spots on some of the meat.
Recently I caught an 18” walleye that spat up a 9” salmon smolt. There are mixed opinions about releasing walleye back as they do eat a lot of salmon smolts. Every once in a while I’ll throw back a female or two…
These fish are an invasive species and there's far too many. They eat all the baby salmon and steelhead and other native fish. These anglers are helping the river by taking all these fish in all seriousness.
Another awesome video from my two favorite people pops and son fishing 🎣 memories that will never be forgotten. Thanks 🙏 for sharing your story with us. What part of the Columbia river is that at is it above Bonneville dam or higher up
Love that you got your boy with you on these videos. Great memories fishing and dirtbiking with my kid
Our kids won’t be with us forever. Make memories with them when you have the opportunity! 👍🏻

Like how the little feller puts his back into it. He's gonna be a hot hand on a tuna charter one day
👍🏻
Beautiful video. Nice day of fishing. And cooking on the water. Wow. Can’t beat that. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Did you make those kits your self? Or you bought them somewhere
Thank you! I usually make everything myself when it comes to fishing. It makes fishing more interesting! 👍
@@Pacific_NW where do you buy your beads and floats?
Awesome day! Thanks for linking the gear too! The little guy is a great fisher!
Thank you 👍
Nice to see fishing passed down to the new generation. Looks like you're doing well in life, enjoy and thanks for sharing.
Thank you John. 👍🏻

@@Pacific_NW i love the fact u r w your boy. Im jealous. My boy is 6' 4" and wont go w me on the boat. Keep making vids.
Nice flat day on the Columbia river doesn't happen often. Can I ask what boat launch are you using?
got to get up that way looks like a great time
👍
Hey do you guide for walleyes? Or can you point me in the right direction?
I so want to learn how to catch walleye. I’ve never caught one in my life.
Pretty easy to do. Just takes times to make a few trips out and fine tune everything. Good Luck! 👍
I really like the the way you get the kids active in your videos, keep up the good work would like to see ya release anything larger than 23” good breeders
👍
Looks like it was a great day! What is the best time of year for walleye and what is the best trolling speed? Thanks for the video!
You can catch them year round. 1-1.5mph is the speed that works best for me. 👍🏻
This boat looks awesome what kind is it
not my boat. but it's a hewes craft. I have the sports man 200. love that damn boat .
Where do you launch from? I launch from Umatello! Awesome catches
what batteries are you running on your minkotta ? 2x12v or a single 24v ? lithium or lead ?thanks for your videos
I have two Lithium 12v batteries. I could not find the link for the exact ones I own, but here's one for very similar ones: amzn.to/3zMPof6 Hope that helps! Thanks! 👍

👍🏻
also. whats your take on the sauger / walleye mix ? i fish the columbia and snake. i assume all i catch are walleye. but i might be wrong.
always fun watching you and your boys.what table to you have mounted on your rail ? i have a 2022 hewes 200 sportsman.
Thank you! I had to custom build the table myself.
@@Pacific_NW well looks like I will do the same. Im not a fan of the bar mounted ones. and I can't find one to fit my gunnel.
What fishing rods are you using length, action, and power .
What kind of rod holders are attached to the aft rails?
I have the Folbe Rod holders. Here is a link for them: amzn.to/3JkZkzm Hope that helps. Thanks! 👍

You're absolutely right. Best white meat fresh water fish! 100% agree with you. 👍
what model lamiglass rod was that. looks like it does its job well.
Here's a link for the Lamiglass Rod used: amzn.to/3MguWLn Hope that helps. Thanks! 👍

Great video! Looks like a wonderful time with the kiddo. Would you recommend putting in at Rufus if I am on the Oregon side? I’ve launched there many times, but don’t know of any other ramps that would be closer. Thanks for any input you could share.
The ramp closest to the dam is the best one to use when fishing below the dam.👍🏻
What kind of baits is that? Where i can get one?
What part of Columbia is this?
What’s the set up for walleye
I’m going out there late May!!! Jigging or trolling?
We were trolling! 👍🏻
Are you using 2 hook setup or a slow death hook?
Both setups work very well! 👍🏻
What kind of fillet table are you using? Looks really nice
Thank you, I custom built it myself… 👍🏻
Where do you launch your boat on the Columbia River?
😂😂😂 the guy simply trying to find out location
Nice fishing, thanks for sharing videos. Where do you guys fish?
These are great videos. How deep do you fish for them?
Thank you, it depends on the time of year/location etc. generally anywhere between 20’-40’ deep
Where do you buy your walleye spinner making gear?
Just years of accumulation, here and there. You can find some some of the gear on Amazon.
What rod holders are you using?
I have the Folbe Rod holders. Here is a link for them: amzn.to/3JkZkzm Hope that helps. Thanks! 👍
I fished for walleye the past several days around Boardman and Irrigon Oregon. The bite was fairly slow. Do you find the walleye bite to come and go this time of year on the Columbia or is it normally fairly good?
Pretty good year round! 👍🏻
Went to Rufus today got 4 average size keepers Wind came up blown off the river by 2pm such is fishing the Columbia River
👍🏻
what part of the columbia?
I've been trying to figure it out too. Looks like they are possibly between Oregon & WA. Maybe up towards Umatilla.
Awesome video guys! Do you bleed out your fish before putting them in the cooler?
Yes, I will bleed the fish out in the live-well before putting it in the cooler. If you don’t bleed the fish you will have blood spots on some of the meat.
How to make hook an babble line
Are you sure that fish is fresh?
Let me double check...
None of those fish were bled out. You need to do that to improve the quantity of the fillets you’re taking home.
What's the limit?
No limit on walleye for Columbia River.
Those "small ones" are above average eater-sized here in the great lakes.
👍🏻
Harris Jason Hall Angela Moore Edward
You realy need to pit the girls Back so your son has some fish down the road when he starts going on his Owen??
There's plenty to go around😂
And plus they aren't supposed to be in the Columbia anyways
Recently I caught an 18” walleye that spat up a 9” salmon smolt. There are mixed opinions about releasing walleye back as they do eat a lot of salmon smolts. Every once in a while I’ll throw back a female or two…
Nice, but you shojld let the bigger ones go to breed. That way your kids will end of fishing in the future.
Nope...it's good to get those salmon smolt eating machines out of the river.
@@Flatfishhunter LOL...still looks like overfishing to me.
You have upper Columbia with limits for walleye, lets remove those walleye from lower Columbia for salmon to have a better chance.
You guys need to learn the difference of males and females. Really disappointed.
Keep a couple and turn the rest back. WTF.
These fish are an invasive species and there's far too many. They eat all the baby salmon and steelhead and other native fish. These anglers are helping the river by taking all these fish in all seriousness.
100% 👍
Remove all walleye from lower Columbia, this guy should get paid for doing this
Paul, in Oregon we prefer to harvest Walleye in favor of salmon and steelhead runs
Another awesome video from my two favorite people pops and son fishing 🎣 memories that will never be forgotten. Thanks 🙏 for sharing your story with us. What part of the Columbia river is that at is it above Bonneville dam or higher up
Thank you Carlos. This is higher up towards the John Day Dam.
