there was a time when i spinned my style in a ranked match (for those who dont knows after the match is finished you can access to your quests, shop etc... after a ranked match) and accidentaly clicked on return to lobby and reclicked like the brainless dumbahh i am on the matchmaking button and what i had for fighting style was turtle
but i still won the match and then my thoughts on turtle changed forever

The first player was tryna apply the mind games thing (Wait a huge ass time to m1 after an m1 string, they are mostly looking for a counter or you to dash first)
What to do against them? Just m1 the shit out of them.
They get you in a string and then stop it just to wait? Don't wait, just m1 them in that mere instant they stop punching. ofc they are going to change tactics, but yeah, most of them are awful.
That leads them to return to do the same thing when the match is stressfully tied or about to lose.
