Much more of a simplified approach than I usually go with. I tend to go into scramble frantic overthinking chaos writing a track lmao. This is much easier! I'm going to use this sketch concept to write my next cue, see how it turns out. Thanks Rich!

@@richardpryn I started one yesterday and got the basic blueprint/skeleton of the entire track in maybe 20-30 mins. Would have kept going but I got a custom in lol. I can already tell this way is so much easier, leaving you more creative time. Allows you to get the trailer feel off the bat and see the whole picture before filling in the broad strokes. Thanks Rich! Always great tips from you.

Really helpful video- your approach is very different from mine, which offers a cool perspective. I tend to write a fully detailed climax section first and then make other sections later, but I like the way you begin with an overall structure, more of a "mile wide and inch deep" approach that lets you go fill in details later.
Hey Connor, I sometimes use that final third approach which I like but then I tend to panic a bit when working backwards. Great for getting the scale and impact in place though

Hey there! I was wondering if I'm doing this right... I'm trying to learn how to record and produce songs in logic. So, I set my gain on my interface for my guitar and mic for voice (I didn't directly plug my guitar into the interface but recorded it with the same mic as the voice). I played and sang the songs loudest parts and turned up the gain on my interface till it clipped red, then turned it down until I got an occasional yellow to pop up. So, I believe I set the gain right, (on the interface). But after I recorded both tracks, I noticed that in logic that the guitar and voice could be possibly clipping because the right fader or whatever you wanna call it spikes up to red every once in a while... (The faders I'm talking about are in this video at 0:00 in the bottom left corner of the screen). Also, I notice that the master volume in the top right corner of the screen goes red every once in a while too... I would appreciate your input and advice on this matter! haha... One other thing... The vocal track is a bit quieter than the guitar track. The 1st verse is sung a little quieter than the pre-chorus and chorus so it gets covered up pretty bad. Is there a way I can boost some parts of the audio track in the quiet spots? Sorry this is a long message... lol... Thanks! :)
In this video here: ua-cam.com/video/1iCSj7gqfDk/v-deo.html I show you how to move what's called automation. This is how you can change the volume of the audio in different parts. Regarding clipping, don't worry too much about it as long as when you record it is not clipping as you cannot reverse this. I would suggest setting your input gain so that it stays in the green at your loudest. Then you can always adjust after in Logic. Hope this helps

I have done another trailer course, but I like your approach better. I am just deciding if I want to spend the extra amount on the Trailer Course or if Hybrid Trailer will be sufficient.

On top of the quicker workflow, I can already see a mixing benefit. Usually I would write and orchestrate a 50+ tracks piece that would already be too busy... How could I accomodate high energy hits and booms on top ? BTW it never works ... I will definitely try your method ! Merci beaucoup !

How many bars per section?
This will change with different tempos but stick to roughly 15-30 for act 1, 30-45 for act 2, 45-60 for act 3, 5-30 for act 4 👍🏻
