- Inside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, Dirtbag and Groundchuck are minor enemies. Although their origins vary from incarnation to incarnation, they are always presented as a monstrous bull and a mole that confront the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Groundchuck was played by the deceased Bob Ridgely in the classic 1987 cartoon series, while Dirtbag was played by Pat Fraley, who previously voiced multiple characters like Baxter Stockman, Krang, Slash, Antrax, and several more. Groundchuck and Dirtbag, like Tokka and Rahzar, Bebop and Rocksteady, and Dogpound, who later become Rahzar and Fishface, work together, trying to destroy the Turtles. Groundchuck, who is a deformed bull, and his partner Dirtbag, a mutated mole, first appeared in the episode "Planet of the Turtleoids," when they temporarily collaborated with the Shredder, before setting out on their own to wipe out the Turtles and get wealthy. The villains of the 1990s either sought money or world dominance, and based on their appearances, these two appear to seek the former.

The figures of Dirtbag, Groundchuck, & Tattoo were out before this even aired; I had them. I'll never forget this premiered on television in a block with the premiere of Tiny Toons Adventures. What a night! That was about as excited as grade school me ever got.
I had all 3 of their toys but I never saw the episodes with them.
@@karmabum21 I think they were only in Planet of The turtlenoids, which im not sure aired on tv
@@DusBeforeDawn2008 thanks. I was wondering why I never saw them. I gave their toys my own personalities. I didn't even know how they related to each other
@@DusBeforeDawn2008 they both appeared one more time in
Escape from the Planet of the Turtleoids
I love Groundchuck and I still have my Groundchuck figure! Shame he and Dirtbag didn't get more of a spotlight.
Great video as always and thanks for taking the time to put these all together. We at SpeekyGeeky don't mind if you use our art from our deep dives like what was used on this thumbnail for this episode, but please just make sure to credit us somewhere in the video or the description so folks know where they can find more of the content they love. Again, we appreciate that folks are digging it enough to reuse it within other bodacious vids, but whenever we show folks art always want to make sure we credit them so we can keep building up appreciation for this rad community of ours.
For Groundchuck and Dirtbag we had those created by the awesome Elle Hansen for our "Which Figures Do We Want?" series here: ua-cam.com/video/4dC9gqORtYo/v-deo.htmlsi=T1I7e6D67Ck0vwTv and we have a feeling folks who enjoy this episode here will dig ours as well. Keep up the great work, thanks for helping to add layers to this great community of ours
TMNT 1987 Logic - Fat Man gets electrocuted which causes him to turn into a hamster.
Now the only question remains, why does Groundchuck look like the cyborg version of Taurus Bulba from Darkwing Duck?
Awesome video of Dirtbag and Groundchuck. I wonder if Groundchuck is the first Cyber demon from 80s?
lol ya kinda right....
They're literally in prison and persecuted and yet Donatello will like the planet because of representation .
If any of their video game appearances are canon, they apparently escape and find a way to get back to earth
I had the Groundchuck action figure and it was one of my favorites! Thanks for the nostalgia!
I still got mine. Love this character
I remember when the alien turtle backlash happened. Everyone mention that an entire planet of intelligent turtles is one of the stupidest things ever thought of. Clearly, they forgot this about this episode or the later episodes when Kerma reappears. Thankfully the Turtles kept their origin in those movies but it does seem silly to hate on the concept of a planet of turtles when the classic cartoon done it.
I remember them both from TMNT 3 The Manhattan Project
They are rather underrated villains
Now when it comes to the new version of DIRTBAG, I think that he should be alien pet who was experimented on, and the side-affect lead to him becoming a mutant, and I imagine he went on a journey to try to find other animals like him who have become mutant creatures.
Headphones warning please!
Do Tora and Shogun next
Always found it weird that Groundchuck is just a uh..normal mutant bull at first but then becomes a cyborg bull. Not through some horrible accident or experimentation, but simply because Shredder just conveniently has a treasure chest full of "clothes" that includes a bunch of cyborg parts (made specifically for a bull even though the original plan was for a lion and gorilla) and he's just like "here put these on". Dirtbag is one of my favorite character designs, but I swear he looks a lot more like a groundhog than a mole (thank god they didn't stick with the horrifying naked mole design).
Yeah that's why their names bothers me it'd make more sense if they were switched
don't move dirt bag would be the perfect thing to say to dirt bag .
Met Kevin Eastman at a couple of Phoenix comic conventions! Sister obtained Dirtbag action figure in original pack she found buried under old inventory from Kay Bee Toys before it closed forever.
Scratch, Pizzaface, Dream Beavers, Hotspot, Mondo Gecko and the Neutrinos deserves some origin backstory.
Groundchuck and Dirtbag - Two Parts of My Five Favorite Enemies of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
i always wanted the ground chuck figure. it always looked so cool to child me on the card back. Last weekend, i finally got him. he has pride of place in my collection. TURTLE POWER!
I love the tmnt trope of foot clan mutant lackies being in pairs like bebop & rocksteady, groundchuck & dirtbag, tokka & rahzar, and dogpound & fishface. too bad dogpound was mutated into rahzar and tokka was a giant alien turtle mother in the 2012 series
I have and love the OG figures, sadly not with all the accessories but almost, I'm just missing 3 of them.
I'm so confused why tmnt fans aren't considered furries at this point 😕
Not furries, scalies.
Good question.
Keep the Queer stuff to yourself.
Most turtle's fans aren't sexually attracted to them. lol
You completely lost focus on the video, you were going off on a Donatello arc from the show.
"YER GONNA GET THE HORNS PODNER!"
"Can you dig it suckaz?"
I like that they came back as bosses in Shredder's Revenge
This might sound weird but...
When I heard Ground Chuck says that line, he kind of sounds like the engineer from TF2.
@@Blackforte180 its the accent
It’s sad they never made an appearance in the 2012 TMNT series
Why is ground chuck a bull and dirtbag a...groundhog lol
So they became more freaky 🤣
The narrator nearly put me to sleep. Had to resort to a music video
I never thought these two are worthy of an origin video?
Shredder's Revenge bosses!
Could you do a video on Scumbug
We get one about Casey Jones
Personally really like them. I'd love them to see them again and have some redesigns. Personally dirtbag needs to have brown fur and ground chuck is fine as red. But could be brown and dirtbag could be orange I dunnonid have to draw them
I think it would be great if the villain (GroundChuck) could appear in the next new version of (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES) cartoon show series.
But I would like to see a better looking version of the character villain if he does appear in the new version of (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES) cartoon series.
i had all 3 of their toys! such nostalgia!
2nd do a super drags video
Cool
These two are cool but I hope that Chromedoom video comes soon.
INTRUDER ALERT
I have 3 original Groundchuck figures. He's my fav TMNT villain. I also have the new NECA Groundchuck and Dirt bag 2 pack. Love that bull.❤🐂
I love all TMNT sereis
