I love Bruce Broughton’s work! Would love to see an analysis of The Rescuers Down Under. That one’s got some great music in it, a real gem!

4:20 That F#maj7(11)/A# Chord... OMG so beautiful. When you voice it in a right way, even 11 in major7 chord sounds amazingly good. Nice work as always David.

Great job with analysis, as always ! I love the sparse orchestration, similar to JW at times, but still refreshing hero-esque gem :-)

I absolutely love this! Could you please do some of the score from Hugo? Like The Thief, The invention of Dreams, and The Magician?

It has similarities with the Galaxy Guest theme in my opinion but still an amazing piece! Thanks for the upload!🙃

This was years before Galaxy Quest, both drew on the sweeping grand orchestral scores of the Golden Agem in the case of Galaxy Quest David Newman was trying to parody the great orchestral scores of the 80s and golden age whilst Bruce Broughton was writing in that era.

I'd like to see an analysis of the Halloween theme or anything else John Carpenter

John Carpenter can't read music, he just plays stuff on the keyboard until it sounds right, the Halloween theme is very simple.

Ight let me get this straight. At 0:26 you say the chord is Eb which I won’t disagree with considering that there is a G natural in the trumpet part, but at 0:46 you call the same chord an Eb5 despite the fact that there is a G natural in the chord again. Why? Where is the consistency? Why bother putting chord symbols if you’re not gonna bother to make them accurate?

How about thanking the guy for doing all this work for free for us instead of complaining about minor technicalities. Beggars become the choosers huh...

I rather think it's about the overall function of the chord, meaning how the chords feel.
Now feel is completely objective my man. The chord at 0:46 feels way more open and neutral than 0:26. To me this is due to the 5 being the bass note and the actual Chord being played up high instead of down low, giving it a neutral feel. This of course is part off how a 5 chord feels, open, indecisive and in a way neutral.
Of course you have a point with the G being in the melody but in a harmony analysis the melody isn't always the decisive factor.
