Superb clarification! Also, when the ball falls on the ad rope without touching the ground it is considered six and the white line or any other previously marked line is insignificant in that case. Ad rope is always considered the boundary in ICC T20's. Third umpires with high resolution tv camera replays are not fools to give OUT. Only, dimwits who hate India's success create such controversies.

Thanks for the clarification. It was a legitimate catch and was examined by the third umpire from different angles before pronouncing his official decision. If that catch had changed the life SA team is not our problem. Out of two teams one team must win. SA was unlucky as they were closer to the win but we were lucky. Our win also was genuine. Hence let's stop debating on the unworthy topic. Even 50 over World Cup finals last year in india many were saying the catch of Rohit sharma was grounded by the Australian fielder, that means his wrist was on the ground while catching Rohit Sharma and hence he was not out. But third umpire gave him out. Had he been batting continuously we would have won that final also.
ICC still has the film/video of the catch. So for all doubting people plz go and check and make sure. SKY catch was completely LEGITIMATE and India won the game fair and square . By 7 runs. Welcome to the next tournament and be very well prepared.

i think my guess is when virat hit 3rd boundarry sa players dived to save that boundary and while doin that the boundary was displaced the groundsmen failed to notice it and surya took the catch on the exact same spot the boundary where it had displaced earlier

But that time the same people kept their moths shut. At the same time, whatever the decision, it has to be accepted.

Well, i am very disheartened to say this but the boundary rope was clearly moved, i checked it again , and when Miller hits it in the air, you can see from the above angle that the ropes were clearly moved further. (I am not talking about replays, i am talking about real time from the above angle over Surya's head)

Hey I have checked it every single thing, that line doesn’t make any sense as you can clearly see that white line is slightly faded & not properly aligned.
Next you can clearly see some boundary personnels were sitting there if the boundary was moved then they would have moved it back to their original position.
If you see surya’s catch from top angle you can clearly see the boundary is perfectly aligned.
If you put boundary cushion on white line then it doesn’t make any proper alignment.
Last but not the least if you see the catch in a slow motion you can clearly see surya’s shoes didn’t touch any boundary.

A bit of common sense... its a rope. If it is pushed out from direction then it would be pulled in (shorter) from another direction. The boundary is the rope. It was not changed after the all was moved. That is why the rope is there.
There is no question of the boundary line. Point is why a much clearer and close replays were not shown? You have such repeated replays on boundary/six or a ground catch, but why there is no much clearer version of the catch when the match was at such crucial stage? This would be dispelling the doubts of the bouncers.
India won by cheating and fixing. Why the 2nd over to maharaj when he took 2 wkts in his first over? Why markaram bowled himself? why markaram did not bat well? all because was fixed match

Moreover, the catch was something extraordinary, to take it two hands by the running Surya and also to complete it single handedly. Surya also dropped some sitters, but he just completed Miller's catch to win the tournament itself. May be SURYA'S strong will to do something extraordinary to compensate his batting failure, Blessed by his God. With regard to boundary line controversy, it is simply foolish, as boundary line was the cushion rope, not the image on the field. For all critics concerned, the pitch also has so many strips side by side, but playing strip only has stumps fixed on either sides. The catch was DIVINE AND INDIA DESERVES THE TITLE.

Yeah congrats to India. But the catch was questionable even when I saw the first replay it looked like something moved on the cushion. Also all the angles were not shown. The 3rd umpire was also very quick to make a ruling despite how close the game was and how crucial it would turn out to be. But that's T20 I guess. I would still blame the Proteas team for not seeing this as it happened, just as how they did not identify Pant's Fake injury at an important time in the game. India was just that 1 step ahead, small margins though. SA should still be proud.
This guy has interpretted rule 19.2.2.2. incorrectly....the conjunction "and" implies that line serves as the legitimate boundary. So, its not about being disgruntled at India winning, its about fair play. On another matter, the BCCI-controlled ICC ensured that team India had the best advantage behind the scenes, in terms of logistics of the tournament. Did you ever hear of Indian team being stuck at the airport for 6-10 hours? Did you ever hear of the Indian team travelling 2 hours to their practice sessions? Ask Afganistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa. Not to mention the horrible pitches these teams had to play on. So, yes, accept that India has highly advantaged logistically for this WC, just like in the 2023 50-over WC. So, I think people are not jealous against India winning, but against the umpiring and unfair advantage that India seems to have over other teams (not to mention their per-existing knowledge of playing venues and opponents). Lastly, why schedule matches at 10.30am , during work times, only to appease the Indian population? Results could have been different if matches were played in the evenings.

How can you be sure that it wasnt disturbed? Was there a camera on that rope throught the match making sure the boundry was not disturbed?.....you just proved it was a six cause the white line is the orginal boundry and that holds even if the physical boundry is pushed back.

If you watch in another angle at high quality zoom, his shoe didnot touched the blue cloth. It's when his shoe slides on the soil the grass uprooted a bit for force and that grass touches the blue rope. Bit frictional force and grass uprooted a bit which touches the rope but his feet. As rule says the object or flagposts are not considered as boundary and the actual boudary is all that white line , and here, Surya Kumar Yadav crossed the white line so it's a six and not catch .All that i said in accordance with the ICC rule as shown .If someones want to deny my words reply me I am a coach in cricket academy.
