      you do bring up some good points i will try my best to follow them, but might i offer some insight just for future videos about this topic. it's very hard to for guys to get the kind of following that you do i say that especially on twitch girls have an advantage on social media let take you for example you are an attractive woman on the internet and the same can be said for a lot of other women online now i may be wrong but i believe that is a very big unspoken reason why women get popular so much easier than guys do so i could start doing the same thing that you do on stream but it would never have the same impact on new viewers than it would if you or any other woman on social media were to do it idk all im trying to say is that when i started out and even now i still struggle to learn from female content creators because all a girl has to do now days is sit there in front of a camera and talk about anything and she will grow on any platform but its way different for guys we actually have to try lol

    Great tips and solid advice, think it's easy for a lot of folks to focus a little too hard on emulating other people rather than finding something that works specifically to them and their strengths, and it's very easy doing that to end up getting lost in the crowd.

    Good tips articulated well! Always glad to see a content creator highlighting just how taxing some elements of streaming may be when not considered or planned for, and just how much of a difference a little forethought can make to nullify the awks without making it seem like a blatant flex! Nice work

    I’m just curious what you would think now since it has been some time since this video. My take is that banning after a negative interaction might be a viable idea. Since they could and most likely display that same behavior in other spaces/streams. They could be fine for a few months/weeks but then all off a sudden another situation arises - with equal or greater value. I’m sure there’s exceptions but I’ve seen situations like this develop - so I’m just curious.

    Thank you for the tips! I was wondering about that part about "vibe along with a song".
    So one of my viewers tends to request the very same song every stream to the point that another regular kinda went "can we pls not play it again". I want to make sure everyone's entertained by vibing along (even though I'm at a breaking point with that song) but I don't know if some people mean it when they say "can we please don't" ;v;

    • @ShyleelieALT
      @ShyleelieALT 6 місяців тому

      As the streamer you have the responsibility of picking what you choose to do to entertain. You can't and dont have to fit everyone's needs, do whatever makes you comfortable and will keep the viewers at peace :)

    I’m a new streamer and I’ve been stuck at 0-1 viewers, how can I become more entertaining? I’ve tried my best, but I can’t get people in chat so it gets boring to stream. I record myself 10 minutes a day in an attempt to be more entertaining, and I turn off my viewer count so I am always talking no matter if nobody is watching, but it doesn’t seem to work. What can I do?

    • @lastetaslocas69
      @lastetaslocas69 2 роки тому

      If you're still having this issue, it sounds less like an issue with how entertaining you are and more to do with twitch's discovery. Try streaming a less popular game that you still enjoy so you aren't being buried by people with higher view counts. Also try driving traffic to your stream from other platforms, like Twitter or UA-cam

I am going to start my first real intentional stream, I have done a few just to check software out and audio. If I have no viewers should is still talk and just maybe about the game until I see anyone send anything in the chat? Should I have a question in the chat to see if anyone will engage in the chat? I am streaming on Twitch thru my Xbox One.

    On the topic of banning users, I assume bots don't contribute to viewer count so they should be banned too if they post stuff in chat with suspicious links right? my only issue with the "insulters" is that while I don't necessarily care...they also have the potential to insult my other viewers who have been incredibly respectful. so I'm not entirely sure this is a good idea. I have it as a rule that swears are ok but don't attack other viewers. ironically i have people just come in specifically just to test how far I will allow. when they starting making very obscene comments about my mother...they gotta go.

    Could I ask what you do with creeps in chat who are asking for your discord/dms? They make me horrifically uncomfortable - I did my second stream yesterday and this guy had found a lot of stuff about my personal life and was asking if I was single, luckily my mod bot got to him, and I managed to ban him halfway into my stream, but it’s so strange and im not sure how to go about it, it’s not talked about enough I feel

    • @KnightenatorGames
      @KnightenatorGames  22 дні тому

      Sorry to hear this! I'd always recommend purging the Internet of all your personal info and using a fake name to help with safety. In terms of people asking for discord or dms, I'd just come up with a witty retort like "no you're good, we are sharers here. If you want to chat to me, you can share with the whole class". Or "it's £500 for 1 on 1 chats per minute. Pay the first installment and we can talk".

    I'm just getting back into streaming again after taking a few years off. Getting myself talking is pretty easy, thankfully. It's because I am just so... dang... *_interesting_* !
    I kid, I kid (maybe). But seriously, one thing I am grateful for is my 6 years doing radio broadcasts for sometimes 5-7 hours a day. When you're on the air that long, you HAVE to be quick on your tongue to come up with things to gab about. It's NOT easy, but it IS a skill anyone can do, if they put their mind and heart into it.
    So, take heart, all. If I can do it, you certainly can!
    Great advice in the vid. Definitely gives a good basis for people to have those mental cues to get their gums flowing.

      I’d just ignore. In the end, there trying to get something out of you. And if you stay calm to not say anything back at all, that actually infuriates them even more. Let’s say you had one of your regulars chatting with you, then out of nowhere someone joins and just starts talking shit to you. Keep talking with your regulars, while ignoring that other person. Act like you don’t notice them in the chat or that they are not even there.

    I’ve been streaming for about a month so far. Even though I only get an average of 3-4 viewers, one thing I’ve learned is to always engage as much as possible with a first timer when they join your stream. Always. If they say Hi or something, welcome them! Act like you already know them! Ask them a few questions and get to know them. Talk about stuff with them that you may have in common. Do these things and they will likely follow you and come back. Also when I start my streams, I try not to start off by saying “Okay today we’re gonna do this and this in the game.” Instead, I just start telling a random story or speak about a random topic that happened in my day or life.

    K….here is the major problem: so people show up and don’t say anything, like ever. Now what? Attempt engagement, crickets. Ok so talk about self and tell stories…crickets, I only have so much to say about myself and it isn’t like I am going to have exiting things happen on the reg to talk about/I can only talk about the same thing so many times before I bore myself.
    I basically never see anyone actually use pre-planned conversation prompts and most people that suggest it are suggesting it from a place of already having an established viewership and have not needed said planned prompts in ages. It is a nice thought but in the long run doesn’t really solve the problem of: ok, but people just aren’t chatting.
    Views? Got em, sure, but at this point growth isn’t going to happen on views alone. Chat has to become more active and spoilers the only way to actually get that to happen is to get a friend to support your ass and talk in chat every so often so people realize that is a thing they can do (because people literally forget they are watching a live broadcast and can interact with you). That is basically the only solution to the problem and one almost nobody suggests.

    Can u help me out through out my stream I’m talking to chat but no one talks back

    Hi hi!! Loved your video, loved your vibe!
    I am a small streamer and was curious what to do when chat starts becoming faster, and you are unable to read every single message... what to do in such situations?
    And my second question is, what monitor are you using (streamers usually focus on telling what PC or mic they are using, so there is not much information)
    Thank you!!

      Personally I read the vibe of the chat and go with it, if it’s hard to read individual messages then focus on the general vibe and unite them as best you can. E.g. get them all laughing, reacting, etc. it becomes a different skill as it’s less personally chatting with them and more entertaining a crowd but with practise you’ll ace it! Also I use 5 monitors, i suggest 2 as a minimum so you can have the game on one and the stream and chat on the other. Mine aren’t anything special whatsoever, literally just found them on amazon. They’re 24 inches each. Hope that helps!

    This is so helpful, but I have a question! I've been told you shouldn't play copywritten music on stream, but I've gone into so many where people are playing popular music. Is there a way around this?

    • @KnightenatorGames
      @KnightenatorGames  2 роки тому +2

      Hey! I have a whole video on copyrighted music so i'd check that out for more in depth explanations but ultimately it comes down to: if the record label haven't given you permission, you're in dangerous territory playing it. Even if they have, you probably want to ensure it can be played live AND on vods. Else, make sure the track isn't saved to vods. I'd always get written permission and/or if there's an option to buy a license, i'd do that. Hope that helps!

    I know this is an older video but how do you start your streams, like “ hey guys!” Or something else?

    • @KnightenatorGames
      @KnightenatorGames  3 роки тому

      It changes depending on the day really, sometimes hey guys, some times something that's fitting for the day, etc! You can always ask people to say hi in the chat, get them to describe their day in one word, etc - stuff like that helps to get things flowing!
