I had a grey for 32 years. She was an everyday miracle of intelligence and mischief. I worked at home and she didn't like it when I had to leave. I started coming home to pilesof plucked feathers until I discovered how to stop that. I got into the habit of telling her I was leaving, explained why, and assured her I'd be back soon. That stopped the plucking. Interesting that the four other parrots were never as hypersensitive to my leaving as the grey was, but then, she and I were two souls bound very tightly together. She's been dead for over a year, but I think about her and all the other birds that are gone every single day. Life is so empty without them. They are truly one of the most underappreciated miracles of this planet.

Cosmo just makes me cry of happiness, she has full on conversations and is so smart and to think she could outlive her family bc parrots live such a long time makes me so sad. She is so lucky to be so loved and to know that.

I think Cosmo is amazing. She carries on a complete conversation with mom. She also says she wants to see her cartoons. Mom also treats her like a person and talks to her the same way. Mom asks if she wants anything from the store. I adore Cosmo She sure is a superstahhh. I wonder if Cosmo and Gizmo had a baby together if the baby would be extremely smart. They say african greys have the mentality of a 7-9 year old. A parrot alking isnt always mimicing. They learn the words and phrases they know and try to communicate as best as possible. Some birds may not convey it well. But Cosmo does a pretty good job
