    ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

Thank you! This warms my heart :) I'm so excited to learn you're from Iceland. We really want to visit in the near future. When would you say the best time of year to go is? And where should we stop first?

This could be my favorite episode of your's... all the food looked amazing and special, and at 27 min., really had lots to share. Special mentions were the kids commentary, and Phil's long sleeved black shirt. You're my favorite family to watch eat haha ;) I probably should clarify... I don't watch any other families eat. ;)

Thanks, Dieter! Yes, we've been wanting to let the kids contribute more when they want to. Colt is definitely the food connoisseur (Brooklyn would be happy with Mac and cheese for every meal haha) but they're both such hams on camera ❤❤ We're off to California in a few days, then Savanna Georgia, and Oregon wine country after that (Brooklyn's and Colt's passports are being renewed so we're stuck state-side for another month or two) but can't wait to get back to international travels, including a return to San Miguel de Allende. Hope you're doing well!

husband speaking - I'm still amazed at how your kids will at least try all the different foods, especially sea food. I was not brought up on fish so I have
not the pallet for it. One BIG DAD MISTAKE when our son was about 4, at supper, some fish dish for mom and our son. Ryan asks mom why dad isn't eating
our food, dad says fish yuck Ryan, he pushes his plate away, fish yuck mom. I'm lucky I didn't get a divorce paper from that mistake. That was a bad mistake.

Lol. Hopefully you recovered from that one and your wife forgave you 😊 But it makes sense. We’ve always believed that if kids are exposed to food without being pushed too hard, they’ll eventually come around and try everything. Brooklyn is a great example of that. She’s a very picky eater compared to her brother.

Why? Other than not speaking with a native Japanese accent (primarily because we are not native Japanese), we pronounced it correctly. Thank you for watching! 😎
