In week 5 of a 32 prep (my first prep) and I love these videos!!! And love knowing that my coach is aligning with all of the people I watch (the knowledgeable goats in bodybuilding)
Matt, could you elaborate on the considerations you take into account when scheduling cheat meals or refeed days during contest prep? Additionally, how do you determine the optimal structure of a refeed to prevent excessive intake of unnecessary calories?
Love these bro!! I’m 9 weeks out from my first show I was wondering what’s your opinion on do you think it is possible to still put on lean tissue while on a cut leading up to a show? I hear a lot of controversy on both sides I personally think when you train hard and eat your protein you can still put on lean tissue until the last 2-3 weeks, obviously with support from a proper cycle.
This is extremely helpful and I’m learning a ton!! As a 16 year old it’s hard to know where good sources are bc of the internet but Matt knows his shit.
What salt do you recommend for hydration pre-workout as mentioned in previous video if you get to the gym early with no food and hydration is key? What Salt and how much of it? Also, Can I use a carb powder alongside the salt and water?
Let say an athlete is stalling weight in their fat loss phase with calories deficit and set amount of steady state cardio (for example, 6 times 35 to 40 mins each session). How much refeed would you plan for this athlete to keep the rate of fat loss ramping up again? Would you recommend cutting some cardio time and just using refeed ? Or would this athlete just need to eat a little more food to get their metabolism respond back to the same diet and cardio plan without using refeed ?
I am cutting with extended intermittent fasting heavily with a refeed when feeling weak until hitting goal weight. On goal weight in about 20 pounds time with then hit the gym again with weights, some cardio and lots of walking Is anything wrong with this strategy or is it ok ???
Hey Matt , my dirty bulk went terrible got way too much body fat and was wondering when should I start implementing cardio on my cut I get around 15k steps a day at work and can you add muscle even though I didn’t work out on my dirty bulk while being on a cut
Well ofc it did.. it’s a dirty bulk. It’s basically just an excuse to be a pig it doesn’t work because you loose gains aggressively cutting . Edit - you didn’t work out on your dirty bulk?
3:52 but you gotta be careful when you say things like that because people will take that as oh well if I get under 20% body fat my hormones are going to be off so I need to stay fat. the negative side effects come for some under 8%

Hey matt…what role does water play in a fat loss phase especially…and how to calculate the amount of water we need to drink per day
Going to start a mild cutting cycle. Going to run DNP, Clen, Tren, Halotestin, and Dbol.
