27:51 classic Miyazaki animation, whenever there's the characters in the air, they always perform swimming in the air, lol (just like in Sherlock Hound and Future Boy Conan)
This movie is beautiful in every single aspect, specially the intro song with those magnificent scenes so rich in color and telling so much about Jigen and Lupin, sublime !!!
Yay! I'm happy you did a Lupin the third reaction, one of my favorite group of characters I'll be honest, I love their dynamics. It's got a bit of the old Lupin with a Miyazaki influence, I love that. I recommend the Lupin the third: The First movie, that's already out and it's super well done 3D animation and a really fun movie. You might be thinking about Lupin the third part 6 that's coming out I think this year. Loved the reaction!
So glad a Miyazaki fan reacted to Lupin! It's such a fun movie, and different to Miyazaki's other films in that Joe Hisaishi hadn't come onto the scene to collaborate with the soundtracks. ps. In Japanese we pronounce Lupin: loo-pun rather than loo-pin :)
samurai guy name is Ishikawa Goemon The model is a real Japanese medieval thief. He stole treasure from the house of the powerful and divided it into the poor He was finally captured and executed along the river
i dont understand why western people dont know about this wonderful movie......as japanese person this is one of the best movie in my life. people cannot understand how wonderful this movie is through english translation. i dont know how many times i have watched this movie since i was 7. great movie.
Lupin III was also pretty popular in France. I mean, here we almost all know Arsène Lupin. And these years, with part 4, 5 and 6, the old community is coming back. I guess we just have to wait for Lupin to steal everybody's heart in the world
My first exposure to Lupin III was a Japan-only Famicom game which, weirdly enough, was a kinda-sorta sequel to Castle of Cagliostro. As in, it featured the Clarisse character. She gets kidnapped and the point of the game is to save her. Oh, and the game ends with you finding a real, live phoenix inside an Egyptian pyramid. It was kinda weird. :P The game was called "Lupin the 3rd: Pandora's Legacy."
Sumi Shimamoto, who played Clarice, also played the heroine in the later Lupin III TV series directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and later played Nausicaa.😊 Also, Shimamoto Sumi, who is now a veteran voice actress, said that she only found out that she had passed the audition for the role of Clarice when she came home from a part-time job.😅
By the way, if you'd like to see more movies with Lupin The Third, there are tons. Maybe check out "Mystery Of Mamo", "Fuma Conspiracy", "Farewell to Nostradamus", or "Island Of Assassins".
Cagliostro is the best Lupin movie and man Miyazaki did an amazing debut here. Sucks they're weren't another like this. 2D animation is gorgeous and 3d done right lile Lupin The first and not Earwigg Witch
There's a lot of Lupin III things with wildy varied tone and content, there's no real continuity (on purpose). The recent "Lupin III The First" cgi movie is actually relatively similar to this one in tone compared to .... some things. ua-cam.com/video/A1meE9NBTIk/v-deo.html
Our company did the English subtitling for The Castle of Cagliostro. This may actually be it. I remember it was a breeze since there's so little dialogue in it. Our company's name may be in the credits. I heard we were not the only ones providing subtitles for this film so there could be more than one version floating around.
Another Ghibli re-upload :-) Sorry about the watermark, hopefully you do not find it too annoying.
4:42 Spielberg was so shocked by this scene that he stopped filming car chases in his movies.
Once you've stepped into the world of Lupin there is no going back.
That's so facts!

@@KameSensei From what I heard, it's pretty much the same in Italy. That could explain why part 4 and 5 take place in those countries.

Recently, Eiko Masuyama, who played Fujiko Mine, the last surviving member of the Lupin gang, passed away.😢May she rest in peace 😔
The opening scene where Lupine throws away the wad of bills.
Did you notice Goemon in the back seat?
Clarice is referenced in Lupin part 5
Apparently the final battle inspired the clocktower fight in "The Great Mouse Detective".
Good on you movie, good on you!
Congrats on the 1k!!!
Miyazaki is more faithfull to Maurice Leblanc than to Monkey Punch
There's no place to rest for him in nomal world, like Porko.
