I sang in a Southern Gospel Quartet for years with my father and brother. This was our opening song. We stopped touring due to my fathers health. Before my father passed away my brother and I wanted to surprise him. So we arranged for us to sing this song one more time at our church. My dad was totally surprised as I handed him the mic. My dad took the lead on this song as he always did. It was the greatest moment I had singing with my group one last time. It was like a light was turned on in dad and he got his strength back. Shortly after his health started to fail more and then in 2018 he went home to be with the Lord!!
I was about to give up I live alone and after awhile it gets to me why doesn't anyone want me than the Lord told me to listen to this song and it gave me new hope to hang in there, keep me in your prayers
People probably think all these people have money and have had easy lives and such but I think by watching alot of these videos and seeing the joy and the tears rolling on faces that have been through it and back and found there victory and are still going through it.
I will forever standby my opinion that this is the greatest live performance by a southern gospel group ever! Jay Parrack and Tim Riley max out the range on this song. Riley's low notes are insanely supported and he holds them for an inhuman amount of time. Best Gold City line up for me!
My dad was in a gospel quartet for 11 years and this song was always one of my favorite songs because he sang lead on this one. Glory Train was another great song they did, they would always have someone come on stage and blow a train whistle. Good times!
Oh my wonderful Lord, you know us all best. Your hope and mercy makes all of us not give up ❤❤❤ One of my favorite songs and Gold City does you proud Jesus our Savior 🙏
loved them with Brian and Ivan, but must admit i always had a hard time understanding Brians words when he sang with them, and it wasn't his accent. in fact i'm going to go out on a limb and get excummincated but I have a theory about that. have had that problem with lead singer and bass singers and my theory is this 1. they sing in areas where most people know all the words to songs so they don't take the time to really inounceate (sorry about the spelling) their words really well 2. quite often it seems like there is a contest among lead singers and basses on who can sing the highest and the lowest, so they go for the NOTES instead if the Words. and to me not being able to understand all the words to songs i REALLY LOVE is like reading a really Great Who-Done-It and finding out as you get to the best part that someone has taken the last 4 chapters out, and you never get to know how it ends. i was given a number of old Gold City Lps and also have a Brian Free and Assurance tape from many years ago, and there at least 3 or 4 songs on the tape and the LPs that i have never been able to figure out all the words, and some of them are not on google lyrics, so hence i'm left wondering about the end of the story
This is one of the best songs to me. It means so much to me,especially this time of my life where the storms of life are raging violently. I'm not going to give up,I know whom I have believed, I will keep holding on to that nail scarred hand. In His own time God will deliver me soon......
I listen to both a lot and it is amazing how much Tim and George sound alike. Some songs I like one or the other better on but I will call it close enough to be a tie between both of them.
Heard this song on the local country station a couple of times and finally decided to look them up! Amazing music awesome sound. Love the bass singer. I've learned two songs now lol
I put no confidence in my flesh my confidence is in the blood of my saviour Jesus Christ and the living word and promises of God. Inspiring performance Love it thank you
Sure, it’s the Holy Spirit that gives us the strength to go on one more day. It’s the faith of Jesus that gets us through. I can still sing this song glory to the Lamb of God. Hallelujah. I’m not giving up through the blood of the lamb hallelujah. Amen. Praise God.
The key it's being sung in is Ab, so Tim is down on the low Ab and Jay is on a high Eb. Low Ab is in the range of George Younce and JD Sumner, 2 more of the great bass singers.
Love. It. Praise God for what he has done in my life I'm a breast cancer survivor. Was diagnosed Sep 13 2016 and for over a year and a. Half I was 3 stage I'm. Not given up was. The song that have me. A frighten sport and. God's amazing hand was on my shoulder the Chloe time my last treatment was Oct 27 2017. And all my checkups have been great. God. Did give up on me
I wrote I'm Not Givin Up in 1996. I was in intercession for 5 young people in my church who were all in the valley of decision. My father in law didn't like it and my husband was too strung out on drugs to help me. But I held on to God and stayed faithful to Him. Praise God! All those young people are solid Christians ✝️ today and my husband went through drug treatment about a year later.
This lead is doing some amazing solo! Tim Riley is singing some amazing boomy low notes! You guys can see Charlotte Ritchie getting amazed by hear a powerful Ab1 at 2:29. The tenor and the baritone are great, too!
I love the way the other artists are blessed by the songs and worship God. The looks on thier faces and body actions show they are in tune with the Lord and the Holy Spirit.
It's a lot of things but these guys are fun to watch, and not trying to "put on a show" or a "righteousness demo" to the camera. Jonathan W. has emotion in his presentation, and Jay is all around...personality, and Tim is simply the "VOICE." Love these guys.
In a world of being told to go this way or that, where politics has skewed our walk I find days where I just dont want to keep walking...it is in the music that I find comfort, peace and strength to keep walking. Im not giving up, Ive put my blinders on and I will not be steered right or left but straight into glory land.
I wrote the song I'm Not Giving Up on March 19, 1995. My husband Shawn Obrien was in a deep five and a half year drug addiction and two days prior hadn't wanted to do anything at all to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. God assured me that I needed to hang on in faith that Shawn's situation would change. Two days later Shawn started into withdrawals and I took him to the hospital at Texas Tech Medical Center where I would enter drug treatment. Shawn was clean for the remaining 15 years of our marriage. Praise the Lord!
Happy Sabbath my Father. Happy Sabbath Lord Jesus. Happy Sabbath Spirit of God. Happy Sabbath God's family. From the House of God. The House of Prayer. The House of Worship. God bless

acruru You tell him straight! I watch the Swaggarts on TV, but when I watch the Gaithers, I'm usually on UA-cam. I used to have the Singin' With The Saints and Down By The Tabernacle videocassettes, but I have no idea what happened to them. I have the Swaggarts' Crossfire Edition Expositor's Study Bible (which explains very well what each verse means every few words) and I'm awaiting my Spanish Edition ESB.

This is from the Homecoming Series when many of the greats were there! The series after the old ones went to Glory are not the same!!
I was about to give up I live alone and after awhile it gets to me why doesn't anyone want me than the Lord told me to listen to this song and it gave me new hope to hang in there, keep me in your prayers
This is an upbeat, happy, clap your hands song but, man...this one gets me every time and I just start ugly cryin and smiling all at the same time.
People probably think all these people have money and have had easy lives and such but I think by watching alot of these videos and seeing the joy and the tears rolling on faces that have been through it and back and found there victory and are still going through it.
I LOVE THESE GUYS!! This should be our national theme song for 2021. God is still in control!!
I love that idea,💝 amen
I will forever standby my opinion that this is the greatest live performance by a southern gospel group ever! Jay Parrack and Tim Riley max out the range on this song. Riley's low notes are insanely supported and he holds them for an inhuman amount of time. Best Gold City line up for me!
Tim and Jay are two of my favorites. What a great line up here.
My family has been walking through the fires lately but we're NOT giving up. We are holding on to that nail scarred hand. Praise God !!!!!

Tim Riley one of the GOATs
This is one of the best songs to me. It means so much to me,especially this time of my life where the storms of life are raging violently. I'm not going to give up,I know whom I have believed, I will keep holding on to that nail scarred hand. In His own time God will deliver me soon......

3rd and 4th chorus are fantastic!
Tim throws down the low A and Jay hits the stratosphere, up to a high E!
What a sound in that quartet!
Ab isn't it???? from Tim
The key it's being sung in is Ab, so Tim is down on the low Ab and Jay is on a high Eb. Low Ab is in the range of George Younce and JD Sumner, 2 more of the great bass singers.
This might not only be the best version of Gold City but the best quartet ever assembled.
