so curious about the comments you people have about my home town. You're welcome to visit the oldest city of the Netherlands. Nijmegen is the best statement you can have against war or bombing against civilian targets. ( so sad the 22 February 1944)
Great. A good walking tour of the city, looks like a nice place to live. Presumably mid winter and early in the day. I'm surprised at how much survived the war, Nijmegen was a hot spot. No beggars, junkies or rough sleepers evident. The place looks clean.
Helemaal geweldige video.

Nijmegen is a city of endurance. It’s the oldest city of the Netherlands. It was established by the Romans and quickly became a big city. It was the capital of the holy roman empire and Charlemagne livid here. It was plundered by the Vikings and attacked/burned by Mauritz van Oranje, in the end of the 19th century Nijmegen still had walls and was not aloud to build outside of them due to defensief reasons! One of the Neighborhoods counted 22.000 people and only 2370 houses. The city was “accidentally” bombed in 1944 by US bombers wich took the lives of 800 Nijmegenaren and ruined the biggest part of the city center and train station. It was rebuilt in the 1950s and grew even faster then before the war. It was the green capital city of 2018! And now we are doing fine.
