    As I’m sitting here barely able to move after hand taping for 6 days alone…… I’m not a full time taper but I can’t see how I can NOT get all these tools. One job would save me insane time. Only issue is how do you justify charging someone the same price when it takes 1/10th the time to do.

    • @maxgilbert18
      @maxgilbert18 3 роки тому +1

      That's business. Your job as a business owner is to make as much money as efficiently as possible. It's not about how long it takes, your hours of work do not correlate to the price. Discuss price up front, tell them you do not work hourly and get a signed contract before starting.
      I use it as an upsell, tell them, i can be done in half the time and get your build moving forward faster than three guys with hand tools. Builders eat that up, charge a few hundred less than the hand tool guys and finish in half the time. Then you're superman. Especially if they've never seen auto tools. Don't let them in on the secret, but usually the cost of entry prevents most guys here from switching over.
      Good luck!

      Delko Zunder Drywall Banjo Taper with FibaFuse tape (not too pricey and lets you lay the tape on without too much mess and no bubbles) Wish the inside corner roller for a taped inside corner were cheaper though. Use thin setting compound (90min) for laying the tape in, just make sure to clean out the equipment before it starts to set.

      @@VC-Toronto I would advise only using 90 minute mud if you're going to add glue into the mud. It'll work much better. And I'd advise staying away from quick setting mud if you're not familiar with it. There are some things to know about it before using it. Like the fact it's very difficult to sand, and it doesn't sand the same as normal mud. It doesn't shrink. Etc

    • @VC-Toronto
      @VC-Toronto 2 роки тому +1

      @@emmanuelleallen I've installed acres of board and run miles of tape, and have never had a problem with using 90 minute mud. If you are using it for repairs over a painted surface, then yes, adding some wood glue has merit. I'll use 90 minute to set the tape, setting my corners, for the first coat on top, and for first coat on screws. After that I'll use pre-mix unless it's first coat feathering out a corner. 90 minute mud does shrink, it just shrinks less that pre-mixed. I recently picked up a Can Am flusher set (2.5 inch and 3 inch) and tried them at a friends place. Wish I had bought them years ago.

    Level 5 is shit. If you’re serious about increasing production, spend the money and buy Columbia, you will get what you pay for

      I've been really pleased with Columbia tools. When I got started I bought a budget brand of auto tools called "finish pro" .. well the boxs would leak, the blade-bar would stick, my pump seized up, handle brake snapped, $3500 of tools in the garbage in 6 months. AND they went out of business so warranty was useless.
      Won't ever go with a budget brand again.
