You to pay attention to who has uber, where the combo is, what players are alive, etc...
Yeah ill stick to Pubs
Yeah this advice probably doesn't work too well in pubs, but it wouldn't hurt to try and figure out what classes they have, as soon as possible.
In pubs the best information you can get is number advatages. How many teammates and how many enemies are alive is a free information that you can keep track of.
I'm DIV 5, so my DIV is higher that DIV 1, so i m better Kappa
That kappa takes me back, lol
what if an invite player watches this video????????????????
The universe implodes.
Dolly Mix The universe is explode
Great video Steve! I was actually noticing how defensive clockwork was playing while still maintaining good pressure. I think I should take some notes :)
Hey slin, this is directly related to the video, but i was wondering when you mentioned about crit heals, i occasionally pepper the enemy with rockets doing like 20 or so damage and what not, but i always thought this may of been a bad idea as the extra damage help build uber, but does taking the crit heals away benefit more? or most likely im guessing it depends on the circumstance?
Taking away crit heals is great if you get the chance to from range, as it means that not only does it take longer to buff a single player but the healing will he focused more on each player for longer, rather than it being very easy for the heals to be shared around... If this makes any sense.
Don't worry about helping to build their uber. At upper levels of the game it's all about doing as much damage as you possibly can -- during teamfights Medics often struggle to keep their team fully buffed, so they're constantly building uber anyways. If you can consistently hit 20-40 damage rockets as a roamer, you're doing an amazing job.
I just played a lobby with you :), I was the medic Teddy. Great videos!
Thanks a lot, I always thought that only the plays/skill level made them an invite player, didn't know mentality played a such huge part.
IS NO ONE ELSE MESMERIZED BY THE TIMING AT 2:53?!?!?! You literally cannot coordinate your bomb more perfect than that.
1. Checks for stickies
2. If spots stickies, actually calls them
3. Just makes calls in general
4. Pays attention to medic in distress
As a triggered medic main, I can agree with all of this.
I've been playing on Valve servers from the start and the only way I see myself improve is playing against better players till you max that skill cap, then move to higher divs to meet even better players till you max that skill cap and continue onward. Or at least that is what I think... as I've been pubstomping since 2012, but now changing to UGC and TF2Center, the difference is quite huge from your everyday casual players and free to plays.
Hey Mr.Slin ,Glad that my teacher Mr. Wang isn't cleaning dishes behind you.
Great video! Very informative, helped me a lot!
I was a pro in TF2 until I met CSGO and Overwatch. Now I am back at my deserved place in TF2 and I will not forget about it.
That's your opinion mate
TF2-CSGO-Overwatch [freak] if you are such a pro please show me where you are located in invite
How do I start playing competitive tf2?
Nathan Abrantes playcomp.tf
Nathan Abrantes
1. Buy game
2. Get good
3. Play comp.
It's free tho
Nathan Abrantes Go to tf2center.com and find a game
BEWARE: Comp is nothing like your normal pub. Make sure you think you´re good enough.
How do you have the scoreboard up without pressing tab(assuming you aren't holding down tab.)
Thank slin
whenever I see vids of pro players like this I'm like "yeah...just gonna stay at game mods like ff2 or mvm rtd lawl"
Yeah I agree with what you are saying, but think of it this way, a team wants to get into competitive gaming but then are not good enough even for highlander and have to be stuck with playing pubs and even more stuck with playing with their own due to their friends being 1) bad 2) have no computer 3) do not have Team Fortress 2 and 4) maybe shy of other people and their voice so they cant find anyone that is good. and their are many other reasons but those are the ones I wanted to list due to me thinking they was more important. But lets give me a reason why its hard, 1) I am only 14 and some people get annoyed 2) I have a team but they are not as good as I hoped 3) They have a different time schedule by being in Finland, Netherlands, Denmark and England 4) We do not have a full team. Is their any advice which I could use to get to a competitive level. Thanks for the help much appreciated.
But you can't see enemy's uber,so how do I know if I have advantage/disadvantage?
A lot of medics have a 40 second timer to tell if the other team has uber
***** Here's one problem.Respawns are random,so I don't know when will he spawn.
Tracthor The Cute One Yes the time of the respawn changes depending on the circumstances, but it is easy to press tab to look at who has respawned and who hasnt yet :)
Keep an eye on the name of the medic, and you get used to when medics will have uber. For example, if a medic stays alive through a mid fight, assuming the med has been healing (should always be the case) then the med will have uber after the mid fight. You can also compare the time difference between when your medic may have spawned and compare it with the enemy medic to get a rough idea of the uber difference.
Tracthor The Cute One Respawns aren't random, they're all determined by the current point the team is holding. Usually, respawns are _relatively_ fast if your team is holding mid, slower if you're holding 2nd, and down to a snail's pace when you're holding last. Your respawns aren't faster if you're attacking their last, though; or else pushing from last to 2nd would be *absurdly* difficult. This all depends on the map, since they all have unique respawn times.
In my opinion, uber tracking and keeping note of the enemy medic's life (and death, not HP ofc) should be up to your team's Medic.
The reason why is because he can pretty much look at Tab for 80% of the game while the other classes will be busy spamming, trying to survive and getting picks. Moreover, main Medics just have that intuition of just how long the enemy Uber will take to cook up. Of course, EVERYONE should look at tab frequently, especially before a push and after one. During a push though is not a good thing to do, unless you're out of danger.
Great vid, thanks for the tips, plus you earned a sub :)
I agree 100%
is the sourcetv demo of i52 available anywhere?
if you play a pug, do you have to talk to your teammates in mumble. or can you just choose not. because I really want to start playing competitive, but I get really anxious when talking to people I don't know and I think that will make me play like a trashcan.
Introverts' problems :/
***** Mumble is a pain in the a** to setup though
Nathanael Eugene no it isn't
ow my head..
this is why i'm never gonna be pro
I really like how that red medic just wanted a kill LOL
first the scouts jumps on him, instead of running to his soldier he tries fighting with a crossbow
then the soldier bombs, instead of running to team or calling out soldier he still goes to the soldier\s face and try to kill him lol
Mr Slin, when should medic use regular uber/kritz?In 6v6
Can you make a video on pocket soldier and how he should work with med?
nice vid
I concider my self one step above a decent tf2 player and i don´t play competitive, but can somone seriously tell me what the idea with the div badges are and how to get them?
Could you make a vidoe about how the radar script you have works?
There isn't that much to it. Use the scripts that I gave for the radar, and then hold down the bind when you want to activate the radar. Let go of the bind to disable the radar.
Ok, thanks!
lol i do all of those things but being a very stressed out person, I freak out when all things happen at once and I just die.
I seriously think that high level TF2 players think on a higher level than the rest of us.
That's... the whole point
I am stilling working on being able to top score in pubs..
Did it work?
Yes Its rare for me to not be top 3
Cool, I guess
Wats ur overhaul animatio, do u have one?
Dude im bored of pubs n shit i always topscore (i played for 1200+ hrs and i can kill 2400+hrs players easily) how can i find a good competitive team i need one right now
Hey what hud are you using in this video?
Where did you find the i52 demos?
how do u get that thing on the side of yr screen?
aromc Nice way to ask something. --
wtf are you talking about?
Disappointed with your performance in the backround
I love when a player with a unusual and an Australium Weapon gets owned by me. I like to win against the favourite being the underdog that I am.
The Wanderer having money = / = having skill. Please do not get your ego from that.
Where can I find a hud like the scout has?
it's only for spectator
i am platinum in ugc. am i pro?
Invite ma to us tem. Me great pyro mane with phlog,Manm3lter,sharpened volcano frager.

The real difference between a pro and a noob is that the pro has more mistakes than the noob
1:59, even pros miss shots :)
which is your name at the game can you add me?
+1 Sub :) Thanks for info and for the good video.
Lol, if you got bad aim, no tactics can help you (1v1 scout)
I have bad aim and I'm ok at scout, just take heals before doing anything and don't take them 1v1s
Can you atleast do a 80 shot on a pro strafing scout?
I failed 0-20 on MGE to very high skill scout because he's got dem moves.
Corin Vlack I'm pretty bad at MGE, I wouldn't get 20-0's by anyone though so maybe you do need to improve your aim, I'd suggest dm over MGE personally though
Lol I've got 450+ hours on DM, man. How do I improve pistol skills?
Why should I learn this when I can just use lmaobox to make me good?
Lol the "pro" in the beginning has no text damage...

Dont like the tone of your voice, ur basically saying LOL all you new player think ur good nerd its called gamesense lolololol like ur not wrong at all, ur completely right.
Yeah I see where you're coming from. The point wasn't to say "this is why you suck" -- it was more to say "this is what you need to do to up your game".
It's insulting only if you choose to take it that way
MR SLIN Please talk a little slower
alamin123alamin why?
I have to go to school and after that i have to go to work
Narcissistic much?
+jakesterofawesum He plays as high as it gets. He has every right to be arrogant. Regardless, he isn't.
The difference is tf2 pros don't even play tf2 anymore. They play 6s meta, because they are incapable of adapting to different strats, and want to play a fast brain dead game of scout and soldier.
Then when a player like star tries something new like demo knight as a pick class the pro scene cries like a ton of fucking pub heroes and refuse to play against it, even though it is a fast paced playstyle that is fun to play and watch while being less stale then the current meta.
TF2s pro players are honestly worse then the veterans that don't play 6s.
***** Valve didn't make any weapons with competitive play in mind.
6s meta has nothing to do with tf2, and is honestly full of elitists that argue with fans of the actual game. I'm fine with 6's existing, but its sale and boring, where for a long time the meta was based off of obscure shit that very few people even care about.
***** 6'S IS NOT A COMPETITIVE GAME.
It limited the weapons that would change the meta and make other classes more viable.
My problem is 6's is considered less casual then base tf2 for some reason.
That does not mean I want 6's to disappear, it means I wish tf2s comp scene was a better format, one that was actually similar to tf2 without the obscure rules that are set to define a meta that is not based around bring the best strats in tf2 to the for front.
***** Also as another point about stocks, stock only is good, but that's only one version of tf2s leagues.
***** 500 hrs dota, 1000 hrs lol, 550 hrs csgo, 300 hrs cs source, 1500 hrs tf2 and an novice smash bros player/skullgirls player that has played tourneys of both.
I know what games what are competitive are. Tf2 is not one of them, especially 6's meta.
I used to play 6's and HL in 2013-2014.
A game needs more then a high skill ceiling to be a competitive game. It needs a structure, one that bans are only used if absolutely necessary. 6's is not a good setup, coming from a fan that played in 6's that holds tf2 as one of my favorite games. Shame I stopped playing due to other games having better comp setups.
***** The thing is 6's left on its own has bans for no reasons and is moronic in the reasons for it. We ban 2 demos/medics etc because it is too strong yet 2 scout and 2 soldiers is allowed even with that strat being on top in the meta.
It would be better to either allow 2 of any class to give actual freedom to teams to pick as they see fit or all classes be limited to 1 if class stacking is an issue. If you are gonna ban movement items because it allows a tanky class to get back obby quickly then you might as well ban gunboats. If maps are easy to exploit with certain weapons you should ban that weapon on that map only, or remove the map due to its poor design in a comp setting.
You opened up saying tf2 wasn't made to be a comp game, but 6's rules are not made to make a comp game either. The only truly comp aspect of 6's is people play them to tryhard.
