I do a lot of journals this way.... I get beautiful cigar boxes... from local cigar shop and I make journals to fit in them...
They make lovely keepsake gifts when they come in a box... I add hardware of course, so it can be "locked"... sometimes I paint the boxes, but not always... some of them are so pretty... just the way they are...
They are well received.

Thank you so much..I love it. One year I made a little sewing kit out of felt and it just fit my tin. I took it with me to use on a trip up to see the grandkids for Christmas one year...cause I do crafts with them when I visit, and that year I knew I'd need to do a bit of pinning and stitching. I can't wait to make a little journal for one as well! I bought a bunch of Altoids on sale for less that 50 cents at the grocery store. Now I can make lots! xo Karen.
