Had 3 of these when I was 16, peddled the bloody things further than they went under their own steam. Oldest one was a 73 L reg I got for a tenner from the local scrapyard, it would do 45!
Once you can confirm the flywheel and woodruff issue is sorted and you have spark and tining nipped youd need to vacuum and pressure test. I would say its safe to assume the carb is okay for the time being seeing as it started before the woodruff sheared. It may just need slight adjustment but that wouldnt stop it from running if you had it running the day before. 64 jet sounds a bit low for a 70cc set up but may be fine. The likely issue with small two strokes is with the engine seals. You wanna vacuum and pressure test the engine. Once you can confirm it holds pressure and vacuum, then you wanna start fiddling with the carb which on these is a nightmare as you have to keep whipping it off
uhm where is the airfliter ? you need that so will run good :) i had like 4 puch maxis , that looks like original carburetor so I think I'm getting too little petrol and too much air with 70 cc that is
But we saw and heard it running-- what a mystery. Maybe the wrong timing was the correct timing? Anyway the bike is not a basket case, so its just Gremlins playing tricks......
I know what you mean. I'm hoping to get this back in the workshop at some point.im still trying to puzzle it out. I did try setting timing back to where it was . Thankyou for watching.

I may be doing a revisit on this bike...just can't let it beat me . Thanks for watching

thankyou for all this info. im currently trying to get this bike back for a follow up video as there has been so much great advice given. stay tuned.
Crank seals needs new
Thanks I'll try it
I had a Puch VZ50. You only had to look at the gear change cable and it'd stretch , then it was pot luck what gear you'd find.
I honestly thought it would take 5 minutes... thanks for watching

I did partially block the intake as I didn't have the filter but still no luck. Thanks for watching
my first wheels
I really wanted to put a 170cc pit bike engine in this
Change spark plug, some are duff from the factory, work in air, but won’t work under cylinder pressure.
Had that problem on a virago 1100.
@anonhunter5191 thanks for the tip
@@anonhunter5191 I had the same problem with My Honda 160 twin and that was with NGK Plugs. Spent hours on the damn thing.
Duff plugs ,yup been there spent an hour trying to bump a Honda twin after putting "new" plugs in. Put the old two back in, fired up first kick. 😤
But we saw and heard it running-- what a mystery. Maybe the wrong timing was the correct timing?
