To Menendez' reasons, his reasons goes way back even before his sister's death. №1 "Menendez spent the first part of his childhood during his country's tumultuous years in the Nicaraguan Revolution. Seeing firsthand the horrors the US-backed Contras conducted on his fellow countrymen would sow the seeds for his hatred against the United States" - COD Fandom №2 "A year after the quake, his only sister Josefina was horribly disfigured and crippled from a fire in a warehouse the two were seeking shelter in". "The warehouse was burned down by its American owner in order to collect $11,000 through insurance fraud. This tragedy would further embitter Raul Menendez towards the United States" - them as well. №3 "CIA was sent in to eliminate Raul's father in a U.S. sanctioned assassination, an assassination that a young Raul observed and escaped in a pick up truck in the events of Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified. This would deepen Raul's already unstable hatred towards the United States" - them again. Basically, the death of Josefina was just the last straw on his patience. Therefore he wanted anyone involved in death of his sister to suffer from the fact of loss itself, not JUST because it was about his sister.
Woah woah woah... I didn't know the Command from CoD4 was Shepherd! I knew the part that Shepherd had lost 30,000 USMC soldiers... but I didn't know Shepherd's the one who's talking to Vasquez, and Captain Price whole game!!!

In addition of Makarov lore. There was a split amongst Ultranationalist between Makarov and Vorshevsky. Except, Vorshevsky ousted Makarov from politics for numerous reasons.
"Listen, Makarov, I also want Russia to he number one. But I'm not exactly sure if its worth to kill like 200 civillian Russians for an offensive that we're gonna fail anyway"
@@kursk_kuku141yep, correct. This video kinda only touches on makarovs reasoning, it didn't mention his actual reasoning for becoming a Villain It tries to say he done all he done just because of Zakhaev. But whether Zakhaev died or not he still would've went through with his plans most likely. He became a villain pretty much the same reason Zakhaev was a villain. He thought the west (US, UK) weakened Russia and wanted the west to fall, as he thought that was the way to restore Russia to supreme power. So the Russian ultranationalists won the Russian civil war and took over Russia, but the party was split in two, makarov leading the radical side of the party and he orchestrated WW3 to take over the major European cities and become de facto leader of Russia to restore Russia as the supreme ruler of the European continent

Hands down best villains with reasonable revenge. Barkov, new Makarov, etc are have no legit reason to do war crime, because they don't need to. They could go home meet their kids or have regular life like common people do
No matter what you favourite CoD game is,General shepherds betrayal is the saddest moment in CoD history, and the way ghost tried instantly to shoot him but failed by a millisecond.
It is kind of interesting that between october 2016 and january 2017, makarov does absolutely nothing to attempt to take out price. It’s almost like he knows soap was the one who killed zakhaev and has no need to take out price knowing that his revenge was technically fulfilled.
Sheperd did not only do that for revenge but also because he wanted everyone that knew about his connection with Allen (the one you play as in no russian) dead
I’ll have like it if, Makarov was like your average Final Fantasy Protagonist, a Villain who is secretly the Hero, like Zaheer from TLOK but more tactical. That his whole plan was to give his country “The Chill Pill” and restore balance, by giving The West and The East more than what they could shew through WW3 and thus convince them that WAR was bad for the community. 1. Makarov value his country but Zakhaev was an old guesser that was stuck in the past. So Makarov started to move his own pieces. 2. The Nuke in Basra was Zakhaev’s idea not Makarov’s, and with a heavy heart he carry on his orders. Instead to saying “Today we show the World our True Strength” he would have said “Today the World takes an Unexpected Turned.” 3. Once Makarov took over and started to put the pieces into place, Yuri try to stop him but Makarov shot him in the leg knowing he would survive, for Makarov have already come to far to stop then, thus leading to the events of “No Russian.” 3. In MW3, he kidnapped President Vorshevsky, in order to extended the WAR, with the excuse that he wanted the Nuclear Lunch Codes. Why did y’all think Vorshevsky didn’t gave them up despite being “tortured” for months, cause Makarov’s True Plan was just to keep him around for him to just play along until Russia finish draining out their own resources and finally convince themselves to start asking for Vorshevsky back to sued for PEACE. Thus Makarov’s setting up “Down The Rabbit’s Hole.” 4. After the war, Makarov knew that he was the Final Loose End, and thus he waited for Price’s “Threat Call” to start setting up his own “Last Stand” thus leading to “Loose Ends.”
I absolutely felt really bad for Shepherd, Menendez and Rorke. Shepherd lost over 30,000 troops, Menendez lost the most important person, her sister, and Rorke, thinking the Ghosts would look for him but was brainwashed to execute the Ghosts. Makarov didn't really need revenge, instead, he gained power, lots of power.
But seriously, that cobra pilot was a badass, didnt care she was going down kept her cool, and even survived the crash holding her ground with an mp5, and even on the chinook her instincts were to keep holding her ground
For me, Cod Ghost was the one that was the most tragic because hes the only villian to survive. Imagine all the things you've done, but it didn't matter because a man with a durag beatead your ass with his bare hands. 5:19
Shepherd betrayed Task Force not because of his 30,000 men. Task Force was never responsible for it. Shepherd betrayed them because he wanted to be declared a hero for himself only (and Shadow Company that he hired) after killing Makarov.
We never getting a fucking sequel to ghosts. Honestly the campaign was great. Ending on a cliffhanger was the worst decision they made also I would love to play as Hesh and to see how Logan felt. Like the entire game us Logan were doing all the crazy shit and what not and we kept getting ordered by Hesh and it pissed me off. Like I am clearly the superior soldier and we are of equal rank why you ordering me around all the time. It would make a great villain characteristics. Kept being told what to do etc. Always being better yet treated the same.
there was information in the dsm (or whatever it is) about shepherd hiring makarov for no Russian mission, if it leaks then he'll have to face consequences so he betrayed tf-141
To be honest, Rorke had one of the dumbest motivations… “My allies abandoned me!” meanwhile one of said allies almost went down with you and only let go for operational integrity. The enemy just so happened to find you before your allies did.
That's not really the reason. Rorke was captured by the enemy and brainwashed to turn against his friends. He didn't become a villain by chose but was rather forced to become one against his will.
In Cod 4 Shock and Awe Mission Seal Team 6 Killed Imran Zakhaev Horseman who was Guarding The Nuclear Device. Also i felt that Battle was in its later Stages when Sgt Paul Jackson Squad Shows up so we never saw the Beginning stages of that Mission
irons wants atlas to be the sole military superpower so their stock price will continue to rise; taylor has a rogue AI in his and the rest of the squads brains, and it wants to learn more about itself by having the player play through taylor's memories of discovering the corvus project ; kotch is a mars fascist who believes in social darwinism and the inherent superiority of martians over earthlings as rulers of the solar system; dragovich wants the US to fall so the USSR can be the sole dominant superpower and he will be placed in higher positions of power; russia originally illegally annexed urzikstan for its mineral deposits and barkov simply has no limits when it comes to maintaining russian control
Fun fact. Rorke is the only cod villain to win, aside from a possible ending to B02 and we STILL haven't got a cod ghosts 2😃...so dumb. Such an underrated villain and overhated game in the series.
I understand every one of them, and im really sorry for them especially for Menendez, because his sister suffered in a fire for him and they took her away from him
@TomiizyI think at that point Price had found out about Shepherd starting the war. Shepherd was killing all loose ends and needed that DSM hard drive evidence so no one else would find it. Ghost and Roach were just getting radio that Shepherd would betray them as they got shot.
@Tomiizy Shepherd gave info to Makarov that Allen (Alexei Borodin in no Russian) is a double agent so that it could start WW3, TF141 knew that Allen was sent as an undercover agent to makarov but they didn't know that it was Shepherd who tipped off Makarov about Allen to start WW3. The DSM in Loose Ends reveals the connection between Shepherd and Makarov during the No Russian. If TF141 would've found out what Shepherd had done they would start to hunt him, that s why he wanted to kill all potential threats such as Roach, Ghost, Soap, Price and the rest of the unnamed soldiers in TF141. This also why you get the Price monologue (History is written by the victor, if Shepherd lives and Price dies, Shepherds "truth" becomes the truth of why WW3 started)
Also i can confirm that makarov was a good guy in the first cod game cuz when we were qttacking the enemies makarov said "sargeant we will die either if we fight or go back lets find a way and flank em!"
In the gta verse: General shepherd was a respected general during the old gulf war and war on terror of 1995. After the bojinka event, he had led a huge group of marines to handle all the terrorists and rogue regimes that harm citizens. Even in a post Cold War setting, the new big enemy had become the M E C. A coalition of Islamic nations who defy the western nations. The weapons that the M E C are Drakan tech. Very advanced for the Islamic community to own. And it was also aided with some terror group links. And that one event with which General Khalid Al Assad overthrows king Yaseer Al Fulani of his country and his country was very USA friendly and this tested his arrogance for the worst. He led his 30,000 marines into the country and reached the capital. And little did he know that it was a trap. As a nuclear bomb exploded and created a huge explosion and radiated the city for years to come. Killed his 30,000 marines and many more innocent people in the city. This mentally broke him. Even he witnessed that the reactions of the public are shock and non reactionary. And that to him made him think the public has gotten soft and very spiteful. And unpatriotic. That the public wasn’t patriotic for the lost marine lives out there. That instead of filling up the marine numbers. It would take giving war into their home fronts to make the American public feel patriotic and worth sacrificing their lives to defend their homeland if necessary. This ticked the dark side on shepherd.
@@EasyBakeEpix1365 that would make sense there. It’s like an MCU version of call of duty. But it’s kept both realistic and yet fanservice cheese. Even the gta world logic would work with call of duty lore.

Actually if you see for shepherds wiki page there are unused quotes that were supposed to be added to the final mission in mw2. Here is just a few of them: “Why... why do you really need to ask? We've been at war... a long time. We fight for a coalition tired... of mounting losses; direct threats demanded that decisive action” “We lost our will to fight that day, forgive me, you understand? The American will to fight has become weak”

I actually see his death kind of stupid. He could've reach allias hand from OUTSIDE of that ladder. Not IN BETWEEN the leader.
That's the whole point, you can't save him. It's not Elias or anybody's fault he got the short end of the stick. He was doomed by fate. Him getting brainwashed only made him irremediable.

America was seen weak and couldn’t get the job done when it came to it, after that he started WW3 to make America looks like hero’s again and take all the glory by betraying everyone he commanded being the 141 and rangers.
To Menendez' reasons, his reasons goes way back even before his sister's death.
№1 "Menendez spent the first part of his childhood during his country's tumultuous years in the Nicaraguan Revolution. Seeing firsthand the horrors the US-backed Contras conducted on his fellow countrymen would sow the seeds for his hatred against the United States" - COD Fandom
№2 "A year after the quake, his only sister Josefina was horribly disfigured and crippled from a fire in a warehouse the two were seeking shelter in".

Now I know a bit of everything about why Shepherd betrayed TF141 and how he was working together with Makarov compared to the original games then the remakes at least og General Shepherd put up a fight, unlike the other one
The reboot one is kinda pathetic compared to the original
Reboot Shepherd is a different character tho
The part that makes me mad is that my favorite actor is playing him
It’s cool seeing all the Call of duty series have some sort of connection.
In addition of Makarov lore. There was a split amongst Ultranationalist between Makarov and Vorshevsky.
Except, Vorshevsky ousted Makarov from politics for numerous reasons.
Makarov was kinda too radical that’s why he was ousted
@@Davemillerson pretty much. Yep.
"Listen, Makarov, I also want Russia to he number one. But I'm not exactly sure if its worth to kill like 200 civillian Russians for an offensive that we're gonna fail anyway"
@@kursk_kuku141yep, correct.
This video kinda only touches on makarovs reasoning, it didn't mention his actual reasoning for becoming a Villain
It tries to say he done all he done just because of Zakhaev.
Rorke wasn’t just brainwashed. He was already breaking within himself after the fall. He talks about it in his journal.
Menendez was already a villain before his sister’s death
And for a reason too, 2 times US stepped on his toes and spit on him.
Melendez really acted like he didnt brutally torture woods???? like bro, of course he gon murk ur luh sister lmfao
C'mon bro, that's low even for woods 😂
Well Josephina only died since Mason messed up Wood’s throw since he was aiming for Menendez himself
Yeah CIA killed his father, while some American did insurance fraud that resulted in his sister being crippled. I think it is why he tortured Woods that badly.
Because every great story with Heroes must have Villains.
Every villain has a story💔

Call of Duty Modern Warfare begins with Imran Zakhaev and ends with Makarov
Criminals, psychopaths and heartbreaks don't happen for nothing, especially if it hurts TOO much - a soldier who laughed death in the face
Rorke could have just grab Elias' leg and not slipping out of that chopper.
He was trapped under a latter and the half of the helicopter he was hanging from broke off
he could have initially, but as weight increased it was no longer possible
I will forever love the fact that they added in Roach grabbing Shepard’s wrist. It’s a small change, but beautiful

The US speculated that the world will have to fight another war due to the harshness of the Treaty of Versailles towards them. The UK and France could try to stop him, especially towards Sudetenland, but they were still blinded by their egos and messed up when the Germans and the Soviet decided to march into Poland, and worse when France failed to have proper barricades against the Germans, even surrendering to them. Makarov: I wanted to conquer the world.
Rourke: I wanted to get rid of the Ghosts and help my new allies.

Makarov: I wanted to get rid of a revolutionary group and start another war.
Barkov: I wanted to get rid of these "terrorists".

He made the US look bad and back stabbing the other allies was a real bad look
@@barcabocalda2583he was insane due to Cod 4 Nuke
Instead to saying “Today we show the World our True Strength” he would have said “Today the World takes an Unexpected Turned.”
3. Once Makarov took over and started to put the pieces into place, Yuri try to stop him but Makarov shot him in the leg knowing he would survive, for Makarov have already come to far to stop then, thus leading to the events of “No Russian.”
3. Thus Makarov’s setting up “Down The Rabbit’s Hole.”
4. After the war, Makarov knew that he was the Final Loose End, and thus he waited for Price’s “Threat Call” to start setting up his own “Last Stand” thus leading to “Loose Ends.”
Shepherd's betrayal was the most shocking and heartbreaking moment of all call of duty game history 😢 💔
Sorry but when I heard Markovs voice I was howling
shepherd's 30k soldiers was actually killed by makarov
“At this point” brother, he betrayed them from the moment we booted the game up for the first time lmao
It was a foreshadow to wgat the writers in mw 2019 did instead of letting the villian be dead thet baught him back for no reason
@@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005 lol
i cry way to much when this happens
Shepherd betrayed Task Force not because of his 30,000 men. Task Force was never responsible for it.
Shepherd betrayed them because he wanted to be declared a hero for himself only (and Shadow Company that he hired) after killing Makarov.
Would have been cool to see Zakeav’s.
Out of nothing at all, no real reason
Meanwhile Menendez...
Because Hesh is the older brother lol
there was information in the dsm (or whatever it is) about shepherd hiring makarov for no Russian mission, if it leaks then he'll have to face consequences so he betrayed tf-141
Why didn't he just order them to destroy it?
Modwarf 3 was still best end shame ghost not alive now replace him :c
To be honest, Rorke had one of the dumbest motivations…
“My allies abandoned me!” meanwhile one of said allies almost went down with you and only let go for operational integrity. The enemy just so happened to find you before your allies did.
That's not really the reason. Rorke was captured by the enemy and brainwashed to turn against his friends. He didn't become a villain by chose but was rather forced to become one against his will.

I don't understand how general Shepard lost 30,000 marines. When he's a general in the army.
He was possibly a 4 star in Shock And Awe missiob
Why isn't Irons, Taylor, Kotch, Dragovich and Barkov? 😢
Irons wants to make wars to end wars
Barkov wanted to “cleanse” the world of people he viewed as terrorists

irons wants atlas to be the sole military superpower so their stock price will continue to rise; taylor has a rogue AI in his and the rest of the squads brains, and it wants to learn more about itself by having the player play through taylor's memories of discovering the corvus project ; kotch is a mars fascist who believes in social darwinism and the inherent superiority of martians over earthlings as rulers of the solar system; dragovich wants the US to fall so the USSR can be the sole dominant superpower and he will be placed in higher positions of power; russia originally illegally annexed urzikstan for its mineral deposits and barkov simply has no limits when it comes to maintaining russian control

2:34 what would've happened if they didnt save them 😢
They could die
I understand every one of them, and im really sorry for them especially for Menendez, because his sister suffered in a fire for him and they took her away from him
So basically shepherd lost his mind after watching his men die?
Probably
@TomiizyProbably because he's going to betray his country, causing a war, and he wanted no one to leak his attempt to be a hero
@TomiizyI think at that point Price had found out about Shepherd starting the war. Shepherd was killing all loose ends and needed that DSM hard drive evidence so no one else would find it. Ghost and Roach were just getting radio that Shepherd would betray them as they got shot.
His pride and his reputation as a general was severely damaged as well and that’s what led him to start Ww3.
Ghost was a hero and Roach but Shepherd killed them😭
So was Sgt Paul Jackson too but he was killed by the Nuke. He died worse than those 2 did
Shepard I would say is Insane not Evil. In Aftermath he was saying Juliet. I would say he's Broken more than just Evil
Bro I grinded cod 4 not even knowing Shepherd was the general💀
Menendez was understandable why he became a villain.
This sounds like something out of the Historica wiki
@@EasyBakeEpix1365 that would make sense there. It’s like an MCU version of call of duty. But it’s kept both realistic and yet fanservice cheese. Even the gta world logic would work with call of duty lore.

It's a retcon added into the original MW2 because according to that game, he is
MW3 2011 the Makarov and juri . the game tells us that when soap dies , capitan price in frustration kicks us from the stairs , and tells him about this . when they was standing in safe place watching the helicopters was going down ... price give us another and last chance ....
You forget Jonathan Irons
Menendez was already a villain before his sister was killed
Actually if you see for shepherds wiki page there are unused quotes that were supposed to be added to the final mission in mw2. Here is just a few of them:
“Why... why do you really need to ask? We've been at war... a long time. We fight for a coalition tired... of mounting losses; direct threats demanded that decisive action”
“We lost our will to fight that day, forgive me, you understand? The American will to fight has become weak”
I get WHY Shepard did all that he did, but he could've just BEEN a good commander instead of leading so many people to death and backstabbing everybody!
When I was 6 or 7 I didn't know any of this I just play lol
Rorke was tough as hell can’t lie. It’s only NOW getting love because the old cod players aren’t keeping up with cod anymore.
