- This video will show how to update your retro shooter to version 4.5.4. This update brings all of the new games that has been promised since last year. This update adds Laser Disc games and Revolution X!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for continuing to give us these updates! I'm jazzed that I'm going the Retro Shooter route.
I just placed my order on Friday for the base Retro Shooter kit on sale with lightguns w/pedals and sensors, and the console. I also decided to get the add on device for PC just in case I wanted to try that out someday. With shipping, everything was just over $310. I hope the update you showed off for Revolution X and the Laser Disc games comes preinstalled on mine. They haven't shipped it out yet, but I downloaded the files from the link you provided just in case they aren't on the one I get.
Now, I just have to get the last part for my project, the Buy Stuff Arcades ultimate control panel, 19" monitor, and their misc upgrades. This will be the most expensive part of the build, but again, I don't mind paying more for quality if the price is fair. And I already have the Time Crisis machine that I got on sale as the shell for the kit, but all in, this project is going to cost me just over $1,500.
But again, and like you said, only 4 games come on the Arcade1Up Time Crisis cabinet. That just doesn't cut it for $750, let alone the $585 I paid for mine. And I would have NEVER bought Time Crisis if the perfect storm of Buy Stuff Arcades and Retro Shooter Kit didn't happen, an actual plug and play solution, just like building an Arcade1Up for the first time, but with better parts and more games. And sure, I could've picked up a cheaper lightgun cab like T2, I had the chance to get one for $299 on a sale, but I've never been a big fan of T2's cabinet art, though I love the game itself, and I'm not interested in a non-lightgun cab I'd have to Frankenstein into making a lightgun cab.
I got Arcade1Up's Time Crisis to modify for one reason, the beauty of the cabinet! And I'm not even nostalgic for the cabinet, I don't ever recall seeing the first Time Crisis cabinet in the arcades. In fact, the only version of the first Time Crisis game I've ever played was on the original Playstation, which was set up at a store I frequented back in the day called Software Ect. I had a lot of fun playing it, but didn't ever buy it, because I thought the lightgun was too expensive back then. Now I would've loved to have a 3/4 scale version of a House of the Dead over a Time Crisis, but frankly, I'm done waiting for companies like Arcade1Up, and the people who hold the licenses to these properties, to figure it out. They obviously don't want all my money, so I'll give it to people who can actually make the dream happen.
Back in the day, the way a cabinet looked was very important, because arcades were huge and full of games, a lot of competition. The cabinets that drew people in often were the ones that relieved me of my quarters. Whether it be the awesome cockpit of Atari Star Wars, a bright yellow Pac-Man, or the black light spectacle of Tron, I've longed to recreate that kind of magic in my Home Arcade. Arcade1Up's Time Crisis does that and I'll take it. But I won't except only 4 measly games. There is no more room in my Home Arcade and I want a dedicated lightgun cab that can really satisfy that role. And if I can't get a decent plug n play solution from one company, I'm glad there are one's out there who understand this and can make it happen.

Thanks for this video. Watching this while I’m updating mine. I was researching to find out what version it would end on and came across your vid. It just hit the 4.5.4! Was not even aware Rev X was going to be added.

@@kevgret there are 2 more “bug and sound” updates….my system hung up on the last update at 50% and wouldn’t budge for 40minutes. I bit the bullet and unplugged the power, waited, held the reset button down while powering back on and it finished the download.
I grabbed the Google docs file on a sd card and will finish up tomorrow.
I’m just grateful I didn’t corrupt my files by pulling the power while the download was stuck.

UPDATE 7/21/2024: Gauntlet works for me, it is missing some of the sounds though.
Also, if you use a 128GB SD Card formatted exFAT you can copy the current SD Card onto it and then copy the Game folder from the flash drive over the top of it. This will allow ALL the games to be on the SD Card so you don't lose a USB port from the flash drive.

Is this the same update as those who have the pandora's box 10th? I did the recent update to the latest firmware and now, the pause/menu button no longer works on ANY added games. Just the originals that come on the pandora's 10th internal SD. Do you notice this as well?

Did you mix the files to the original SD card? I did exactly like you did, Wondering I you got and didn't corrupt the files on the Original card.
I added the new games to a USB Drive and I leave that drive inserted into the retro shooter. When I turn on the retro shooter the machine reads the USB and adds the new games to software.
They should add the 2008 Rambo shooter game
Are you telling me none of the shills who received this for free have came back to show these rest updates ? Are you saying they played it once so they could do a review , then either sold it or packed it away for good? I would expect all these shills who loved it to do a follow up ? No?
This is a much bigger deal than a track and field stool being leaked... but I guess this doesnt get views so we got 3 hour streams discussing a stool
that update bricked a couple peoples console...maybe that's why no update video...its all over reddit tho ...ill stick to the team encoder mod.. I've got both and wish i would've saved my money on retro shooter

@@ChosenOne1994what console ? The retro shooter console? Let’s be honest here; their own update isn’t bricking their own console without user error. 99.9 percent of the time when people brick something with a mod , that has already been tested , is always user error.

Hello, USB key needs to be always plugged? or the new games will be copied on the stock sd card?
I keep the USB plugged into the USB hub. BUT You could copy the new games onto the SD card. This would eliminate the need to keep the USB plugged in. I found it easier to just not mess with the SD card and use the USB drive for now. Keep in mind my retro shooter has all of the new games on the SD card since I bought after November 2023. The USB stick is really only for revolution X...

How did you get to settings area on retro shooter? Is that only promoted with Ethernet chord? If not please tell me how I get there
The settings option is available once you take a pin and put it in the hole on top of the retro shooter. You will know it worked when you hear it push in and then the settings will pop up on your screen

It’s working now thank you sir for this video. Do you think the pandora box will give us arcade ports instead console ports for these light gun games eventually in update? I really wish the time crisis was arcade ports and t2 wasn’t snes. I love the product don’t get me wrong just wishing down the road of possibilities if they are doing this now which gives me hope.
@@realdealmcneil91 congrats on getting it working! I believe revolution x is the arcade port...there are some others as well but overall this box is a little under powered for some of the more graphically intense arcade games

Just ethernet? No wifi? You should clarify.
It has been recommended to use ethernet so thats what I was going by... You can try wifi but they suggested using ethernet

I can say I tested this right now and it works just fine on the SD card. The original SD card is only 64GBs and will be full after all the standard updates are done. This is why they recommend a USB drive or a larger SD card.
I just copied all the contents of the original card onto a larger one then added the addon download pack. Everything is working great directly off the SD card.

@@ritualdelo I didn't see anything odd with the disc like hidden partitions or anything, so I didn't use a clone tool.
Just simple copy/paste onto a larger SD card for me and then installed the update package for the new games.
Worked like a charm.

I am not sure about this shooter. I still think the sinden gun is better.
Sinden is good but it suffers from environmental issues … lighting has to be dark and the border can be annoying since you lose screen real estate and distracting to some … 4 sensor systems are key for accurate tracking and currently nothing touches gun4IR … retro shooter is a good entry level as well as Sinden …. BLAMcon guns look like they could compete …
@@ritualdelo I don't mind the border and it works really well on my Mr. Do! cabinet. I know the sensor bars make it more accurate but I hate having them sitting every where especially on an arcade cabinet.
@@ritualdelo Is gun4IR much better than Retro Shooter, considering that they both use 4 sensors to set boundaries?

Where are you seeing this? I see lots of people enjoying the update and the issues I see are more user error than anything else
I'm seeing this on Reddit... Saw it happen to a friend of mine in real life.... Also I believe it happened to pd7 as well....
Wow. I’m curious about 2 things: if people who got bricked are trying to update through wifi instead of hardwired; and if they are attempting to update the “Pandora 10th Anniversary” box(w/the gun games on it) or just the “Retroshooter” standalone box.
