    Would love it if FlareCON had some of this functionality added to it (auto sensing/grouping) and had a simplified user interface like this has.

    Hello, i am using the Slimpar Q12BT, Colorband Q3BT and 4 Bar LT Quad BT. i use the BT Air App and love the usability but i would love the ability to change colours from one to the other on the go as opposed to selecting and "hard select". this is a function in Flarecon, can you please upgrade BT Air to be able to do this, it would be awesome. thanks for great informative videos!

    SO how can I have my 3 zones controlled without DMX? I want a different colour running in each of the 3 zones. How can I do it and can the app even do it?

    Hi this is great, I'm still planning to buy one of these this year (2019) on strict budget, I'm still learning on the lights world, I want one of these EZ-link BT with no actual DMX Controller, one thing that holds me back is that, for example, 1 any EZ link BT linked out wired (dmx-out) to another fixture that has UV (ultra violet color on it).
    Will I be able to control those fixtures with the same program output, say: 1 EZ-link linked out to 4 hex with RGBAW+UV controlled via BT air? Your demo is very helpful. Thanks in advance & God Bless.

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  5 років тому

      Should EZLink BT series release a HEX fixture, then yes this Master/Slave control could achieve RGBAW+UV. Currently, the CHAUVET DJ BT line only includes RGB and RGBA color mixing.

    So... is that 150 feet from where the "master" is? 150' seems like very limited distance. Will Chauvet improve the range in the near future?

      The BTAir products are run via Bluetooth wireless technology. This product is intended for use in small venue applications, for those who do not know or unwilling to learn DMX controls.

    truly love this product! my ONE and ONLY complaint is my PARS are slightly off of my COLORBANDS. When I switch a scene the react slightly behind the color bands. only way I can get them to act at the same time is to switch the lights off and back on via on/off switch in the app on my iPad. any fix for this??? AGAIN I TRULY LOVE THE BTAIR! great great product!

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  5 років тому

      Hey! Great feedback. Based on what you're describing, truly this has nothing to do with the products you are using but with Bluetooth technology itself.

    would i be able to input a midi instrument to control momentary light flashes on certain scenes?
    or, could i input some kind of usb foot pedal to cycle between scenes via usb to my tablet, which, connected via bluetooth, will control a single one of these BTairs which can in turn be connected to other, non-bluetooth LED lights via DMX that could then control the entire rig?

  • @JasonDoak

    What prevents someone else with the app from connecting to your lights? I don't see in the manual where there is a button on the lights to activate pairing mode.

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  6 років тому +2

      Jason, great question. Once the BTAir is paired to one device, other devices can not pair to it! There is no button on the lights to activate pairing mode, once the app is opened they will automatically locate and pair to your fixture.

    I have just two Chauvet T-3 Bars. Do you know if I can make a program that has the left on red and the right one blue? In other words, can you assign a different fixed color to each group but assign the whole thing to one program called Red/Blue? I guess you would refer to this as a "scene."

    Can you daisy chain other lights put of those fixtures and control them as well? The issue being with large rooms for uplighting. Bluetooth may not be a good solution, but I like it conceptually.

    • @grantgoodson6735
      @grantgoodson6735 6 років тому

      Hi Shawn - yes- you can connect to the first light via the Bluetooth app and then run slave via dmx out. Keep in mind if you are controlling a tri color par, it will only run tri signals down the dmx line.

  • @abecoulter18

    So you have to buy new lights to control with Bluetooth rather than using external hardware.

      Abe, thanks for reaching out. BTAir™ was developed to target the entry-level market who is unwilling or interested in learning DMX lighting controls. This product line is targeted at small bands, open mic nights and other small venue applications as the Bluetooth wireless technology only has a range of 150ft. The free app allows you to control the fixtures directly from your phone and works in conjunction with our new BT fixtures. You can find out more about the products and BTAir app that controls it by clicking here: www.chauvetdj.com/products/btair/

    Hi Chauvet,
    I've just bought a whole range of this and setting up now with the help of this video. However I see when you're on the 'fixed' button and choosing colour the amber slider does not move, it doesn't move on my app either. I thought this Q4 range was quad colour? Therefore shouldn't the slider move on the app?

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  4 роки тому

      Yes, EZLink Par Q4BT is quad-color (RGBA). In order to set the light to amber, use the amber slider on the color picking window and you can slide RGB back down to zero. You can also select a color from the color wheel on the color picking window and add amber into the color mixing, if the fixture is RGBA.

    • @neil8496
      @neil8496 4 роки тому

      @@CHAUVETDJ sorry I meant to say that the amber slider does not move on its own accord, you can test this out when you select colours by moving your finger within the circle colour, the chart, the amber slider will not move but yes I'm aware the can move it yourself. So I'm not sure if this is a technical issue with the app itself.

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  4 роки тому

      If you want to mix amber in, please use the slider even after dragging your finger around in the color wheel. The function of every DMX controller on the market today, at it stands now, only mixes RGB in a color picker. Thanks for the question!

      Hi Stan, I've just bought this product. I had a similar experience but then I sorted it.. did you check that the setting on your BT Ezlink light is set to 'bLE' as this will give out the Bluetooth signal for your phone/tablet to catch the Bluetooth signal. Hit the menu button a few times to go through the different modes to find it. Hopefully this will fix it.

    Was messing around with the SlimPar BT. It would sort of work with the app. When I created scenes it wouldn't switch. It would only activate in the edit screen. Not as user friendly as this video leads us to believe. Any suggestions?

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide a bit more information, what type of device are you running the BTAir App off of?

    • @snertthedj2307
      @snertthedj2307 6 років тому

      For sure, I'm running it off of a iPhone7 Plus. The Slim Par works great, its the Colorband that isn't behaving as it should. Also, will we be able to pixel map the Colorband like it behaves on Sound Mode in Bluetooth mode? Still not switching from scenes only switches when you're in the edit scene screen.

    Hello,
    BTair seems truly great... especially when used with battery-operated ilghts...
    Unfortunately there's simply NO SCENES programing possibilities and that ruins the whole concept!
    I mean... it is simply not possible to run multiple groups with different presets at the same time with a simple operation... To achieve this basic task, you have to navigate several time between Program screen and Playback screen!?! Crazy...
    Add this simple and basic function and I will buy instantly a bunch of EZlink pars & bars!!
    At least keep the Groups selection at the top of the Playback screen so you can activate and deactivate a bit more easily the group(s) you want to associate with your different presets...
    Best regards.

      CHAUVET DJ Thank you. I feel it would be beneficial in this very competitive market to act upon your customer driven products. I'm sure your R&D can make it happen. Ape lighting is similar in its effect but not very cost efficient for most dj's especially those of us in the mobile market. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would love to see the next generation of wireless Bluetooth lighting sooner than later. One love 👍

    “Incredible” Control my butt. It’s pretty basic control at best. Good idea but pretty basic and amateurish. It’s in need of a BIG upgrade.
